I dont really have a name for it. I just call it Another prophecy, and I post it on Penguin's DA (Penguin-Does-Art)
Chapter one
The day had finally come. Fallowkit, Maplekit and Ivykit where going to become apprentices. "Let all cats of ThunderClan gather around for a ceremony!" Redstar, the leader called. The three kits followed by their mother, Flintspark, padded out. "Today, I name three kits to the rank of apprentice. Fallowkit, from now on, you shall be known as Fallowpaw. Stoneclaw, you are ready for your second apprentice, please train Fallowpaw in the ways of our code. Maplekit, you shall now be known as Maplepaw. Sorrelwave, you are ready for your first apprentice, train Maplepaw in the ways of our code. Ivykit, you shall be known as Ivypaw. Whitefeather, you are ready for an apprentice, please train Ivypaw in the ways of our code." Redstar announced. "Fallowpaw! Maplepaw! Ivypaw!" ThunderClan cheered. Fallowpaw padded up to her mentor in joy. “It will be a pleasure to work with you Fallowpaw.” Stoneclaw’s deep voice purred. The two cats touched noses in joy. Fallowpaw looked behind her, seeing Lionkit, Skunk-kit and Echokit sitting in the nursery alone. They were best of friends and always played together. Ivypaw and Maplepaw with their mentors, Sorrelwave and Whitefeather padded towards Fallowpaw and Stoneclaw. “So what are we doing first?” Fallowpaw asked, letting her black fur and white chest with spots that ended like stars flow in the wind. Whitefeather shook her head slowly. “Nothing fun. Since the drought arrived the only thing apprentices have been doing is going on water patrols. Oh StarClan please sent us rain. Let’s go. I want to get water before I let my tongue get to dry” Whitefeather meowed. The six cats got out of the stone hollow before grabbing some moss near the training hollow. “How much father is the stream?” Ivypaw asked impatiently. “All the streams have dried up. We have to go to the lake to get it. I hope that the beavers haven’t returned.” Stoneclaw chuckled. Whitefeather smiled “I remember that. Though that was when Firestar was still alive. Dovewing did a good job with her powers.” Maplepaw looked questioned. “Powers? Dovewing?” She asked. “It was a long time ago. Dovewing, Ivypool, Lionblaze, Jayfeather, Hollyleaf and Firestar are in StarClan now. Dovewing had super senses. Lionblaze was invincible in battle. Jayfeather could walk into other cats’ dreams. Ivypool was a spy for us, finding out what was happening in The Dark Forest. They where brave cats. Hollyleaf died in battle while fighting the Dark Forest. Same with Firestar. They were very brave cats.” Stoneclaw meowed. “Here we are” Sorrelwave said. The lake was very small now. “Take your moss and wet it, then you can have a drink from the lake” she continued. The three apprentices soaked their moss in the lake. Their mentors also took some moss and soaked it. I guess every cat must play their part to get water. This stinks. I really hope that the drought ends soon or Il rip my fur out if I have to do this every day. Fallowpaw thought before taking a large drink from the lake.
The water was refreshing, but it was warm. “Yuck! This tastes like salt!” Maplepaw spat. Ivypaw nodded, as well as Fallowpaw. “I don’t taste it” Applestripe’s voice rang beside them. The six cats turned around to see Applestripe, Sedgewhisker, Cloudyflare and Blizzardpaw. “Water patrol” Cloudyflare’s sweet, motherly voice meowed. She was one moon through expecting kits, and she would be joining Redstar’s mate, Rosethorn in the nursery soon. Sedgewhisker, Cloudyflare and Blizzardpaw nodded “we don’t taste it either” Sedgewhisker meowed. Whitefeather looked at the young cats. “Maybe it’s a sign” she meowed. “Fallowpaw, Maplepaw and Ivypaw? They are newly apprenticed Whitefeather do you have bees in your brain? Honestly, StarClan would send the message to Hollyberry than some inexperienced cats.” Stoneclaw growled. Fallowpaw was insulted. She was an apprentice! Oh, I guess he does have a point. I mean, we are just newly ranked, but that doesn’t give him the right to think we are inexperienced. This is going to be a very, long day. Oh StarClan what now? Fallowpaw thought when a large ShadowClan patrol walked towards them. “What are you doing here? This is ThunderClan territory!” Stoneclaw hissed. One ShadowClan warrior looked to Stoneclaw. “Our side of the lake has dried up! We are taking over this part of the lake weather ThunderClan likes it or not!” Her icy yellow gaze was freezing over the ten cats. The ShadowClan patrol was larger than their patrol, twelve cats at least. “Frogheart, please this doesn’t have to end this way. I know Tawnystar is trying to stay strong and prove to your Clan that being on her last life means that she must end her reign with a large mark. We are also suffering from the drought, none of our streams are flowing in our territory. We can end this peacefully by speaking to Redstar” Applestripe meowed. “How do you know Tawnystar is on her last life?” A tom hissed. “Bramblestar spoke to Hollyberry. He’s trying to protect his sister. Could you take a break, Tigerheart? Yes she is your mother, but you must trust that she was also a part of ThunderClan” Cloudyflare meowed. “ThunderClan has always been soft. Ever since Firestar allowed kittypets and loners join, you’ve been built on a foundation of Kittypets!” Another hissed. “How dare you insult ThunderClan like that? Firestar was a great leader and made good decisions! Unlike Brokenstar, Tigerstar Blackstar or Rowanstar he avoided the path of battle!” Blizzardpaw growled. Sedgewhisker shot a warning glance at her apprentice. “It’s not our fault that your medicine cat, Yellowfang had Brokenstar. And it’s also not our fault that ThunderClan had dishonorable warriors raised in their Clan!” A ShadowClan apprentice growled. “Ashpaw, this is not your place to speak, but you do have a point here.” Ashpaw’s mentor said. The ShadowClan patrol unsheathed their claws, preparing for battle.
Fallowpaw’s eyes widened in fear. She hadn’t learned any battle moves yet and it seemed ShadowClan wanted to start one. Stoneclaw showed his teeth and unsheathed his claws. “Surrender your part of the lake Stoneclaw, or this won’t end in battle” Frogheat growled. “That’s not my decision to make Frogheart. It’s Sunleaf’s and he wouldn’t surrender a whisker to you.” Stoneclaw hissed to the tortoiseshell she-cat. “ShadowClan, Attack the bird chasers!” The ShadowClan deputy, Pineclaw yowled. “Fallowpaw! Go to the camp and get more cats!” Stoneclaw ordered. Fallowpaw ran away from the patrol quickly. She wanted to help to stay and fight since now they were outnumbered by three cats now. But she kept running. For her sisters, for her mentor, for Cloudyflare and her future kits. She didn’t know her way back to camp, but she followed the scent of the Clan. The black and white cat later found the stone hollow, racing down into camp. “Fallowpaw what’s wrong?” Rosethorn and Redstar both said at once, swallowing their meal. “ShadowClan are trying to steal our side of the lake. They said that theirs has gone dry!” Fallowpaw panted. “What? Where’s the others?” Redstar ordered instantly. “Stoneclaw told me to get a patrol to help. The ShadowClan patrol has twelve cats” she meowed. “Twelve? They must be desperate.” Redstar said slowly. “Tawnystar is down to her last life and she’s suffering the worst of dehydration. It makes sense that she sent such a large patrol of cats for our share of the lake” Rosethorn meowed in return. “Swallowleaf, Quickslash, Robinpaw and Freckleface, maybe Gingermask. Go with Fallowpaw to help defend our water!” Redstar rose to his paws, red tabby pelt glowing in the sunlight. The five cats walked up and ran back to the lake with Fallowpaw. Quickslash was the fastest. Maybe his battle skills where like his name and speed. They made it to the lake. Applestripe was badly wounded. They bursted into battle like a wild fire. Fallowpaw launched herself at Ashpaw. She sank her teeth into his paw, hearing the screech that the gray tom released. Ashpaw hissed at the younger apprentice and belly raked her. Fallowpaw felt pain as blood poured out from her belly. The tom pushed her off with his hind legs. “Fallowpaw!” Flintspark, her mother cried when she saw the apprentice laying in a pool of blood at the shore of the lake. Her father, Stormcloud followed his mate towards the limp apprentice. “I’m ok mom…I’m ok” Fallowpaw gasped. She rose to her paws a few moments later, charging towards Ashpaw, ramming into his side. The gray apprentice was pushed a tail length away and a few inches off the ground. “Fallowpaw take a break! He’s the size of a warrior you won’t win!” Ivypaw cried to her sister while being attacked by Blackclaw. “I got this! I’ll be alright sister!” She called before slashing a claw over his eye. Ashpaw screeched in pain before panting with exhaustion.
Fallowpaw raked her claws over his flanks and continued before he yowled in mercy. She released the gray tabby tom apprentice before he ran away back to ShadowClan camp. Ivypaw was badly wounded. Fallowpaw growled before raking the black and white tom’s flank as he was pinned on her sister. The senior warrior was too busy keeping her sister pinned that Fallowpaw leaped into him, sinking her teeth into his shoulder. The tom finally noticed Fallowpaw before trying to get her off, put she kept a firm grip. “ShadowClan retreat! This is not a battle to be won today!” The ShadowClan deputy’s voice rang. Fallowpaw leaped off of the warrior before he ran away. Stoneclaw was still face to face with Frogheart. “Don’t think your safe right now mousebrain. We will be back!” She growled to him. “When do you think Ashpaw will be ok? My apprentice scarred him up pretty good Frogface.” He teased before walking away. “C’mon ThunderClan, we won this battle. Let’s get back to camp.” Stoneclaw meowed before leading his apprentice back to camp in silence.
Chapter two
“The battle was successful, when Fallowpaw got back on her paws, she fought harder than any cat. Maybe better than Tigerstar’s spirit, or Lionblaze himself” Stoneclaw was explaining the victorious battle to Redstar. Hollyberry was flooded with healing wounds. “Thank StarClan that it’s Green-leaf. I’d be out of supplies if it where leaf-bare” she exclaimed. Hollyberry was finally on Fallowpaw. “Where are your wounds?” The coal black tabby asked. “My stomach and flank” Fallowpaw meowed. Hollyberry inspected the wounds before letting out a sigh. “Your wounds are minor, but that doesn’t explain why you lost a lot of blood at the lake. Only StarClan knows I guess” the young medicine cat meowed before putting cobwebs on the wounds. “Be careful while hunting though Fallowpaw. We don’t want you to push it too far and open your wounds again. Could you bring these poppy seeds to Ivypaw and Blizzardpaw please?” Hollyberry asked before handing a bunch of poppy seeds wrapped in a leaf. “Let all cats gather!” Redstar called. Everyone walked out into camp and gathered. “I received news that we won the battle. I never thought that the drought would go this far. Hollyberry, have you received any signs from StarClan about an end to the drought?” He asked. Hollyberry let out a sigh before shaking her head. “Unfortunately no, Redstar. Every time there is signs of a storm, there is none” she meowed. “I’m disappointed to hear that. Anyways, on a good note, Robinpaw and Blizzardpaw, please step forward. From this day forward, Robinpaw, you showed courage and loyalty in the battle today. I name you Robinscreech. I commend him to StarClan in a warrior in his turn. Blizzardpaw, you never gave up in the battle and chased off one larger warrior. I name you Blizzardcloud. I commend her to StarClan as a warrior in her turn.” Redstar announced proudly. “Robinscreech! Blizzardcloud!” The Clan cheered. The two new warriors smiled proudly as the Clan chanted their new names. Fallowpaw walked towards her sisters. “Should we tell Hollyberry about the salt water?” She asked. Maplepaw nodded, and Ivypaw looked worried at first. “Hollyberry!” Maplepaw stood up and called. Hollyberry padded over “what’s wrong?” The coal black cat asked. “We tasted salt water in the lake, but no one else did.” Maplepaw’s calico fur fluffed up. Hollyberry looked confused. “How is that possible? Maybe StarClan have sent us an omen. We must send a patrol to the Sun-drown place next moon, so we will wait for this one” she meowed. Ivypaw stood up. “Next moon? That’s when Lionkit, Echokit and Skunk-kit become apprentices! Could they come too?” The gray patched apprentice asked. “That’s for their mentors and Stoneclaw and Redstar to decide” Hollyberry smiled at the young cats.
One moon passed, and Lionpaw, Echopaw and Skunkpaw where now apprentices. It was also the gathering tonight. “Stoneclaw, Whitefeather, Sorrelwave, Sedgewhisker, Blizzardcloud, Robinscreech, Fallowpaw, Lionpaw, Echopaw, Ivypaw, Maplepaw, Skunkpaw, Applestripe, Stormcloud, Flintspark, Orangemask and Hollyberry are going to the gathering tonight!” Redstar announced, as the sun was setting. The patrol of cats left the stone hollow and made way to the island. “I’m so excited to see what Ashpaw looks like. I really beat him up!” Fallowpaw boasted. The six apprentices where chatting more until they got on the island. Blizzardcloud went to go see Ashpaw. Fallowpaw had left two scars, one across his eye and on his flank. “Let the gathering begin!” Tawnystar announced. “ShadowClan has news to report. All of our sources of water have dried up and ThunderClan refused to share their side of the lake. RiverClan where generous enough to share their water. Also, Ashpaw has become a warrior, Ashbite.” Tawnystar announced. Redstar stepped forward. “ThunderClan never refused to share the lake. Frogheart’s patrol attacked our water patrol, forcing us to fight back. We are nearly out of water ourselves, and we bring six new apprentices and two new warriors. Blizzardcloud, Robinscreech, Fallowpaw, Echopaw, Maplepaw, Ivypaw, Lionpaw and Skunkpaw. We also received an omen from StarClan. Fallowpaw, Maplepaw and Ivypaw tasted salt water in the lake. All signs point to the sun drown place. Are we still good with the sun drown patrol?” Redstar announced. Ashstar and Reedstar both stood up. “Midnight may not still be alive. But her cub obviously has grown, and Midnight must have given Starry the powers to speak cat and connect with StarClan and the tribe of endless hunting. I’m only sending Eaglewing, I suggest ThunderClan could spare their apprentices and mentors” Ashstar meowed.
