Tallpine
Moons passed since Barrenpaw's initial apprentice ceremony, and now that the she-cat was coming of age, her warrior ceremony was due in no time. That was, if she was able to pass her assessment without acting much of a fool. She had faith in Firespark and her methods of training, but it was starting to challenge her, training with two other apprentices. She was so used to either being left out of everything, or being the center of a cat's attention for the time period.
Applefall would probably be proud of her mute daughter, but then again, wasn't a mother usually proud of whatever their child did? She rolled her eyes, chewing a bit of moss from her bedding. A bit foul, but still wet and edible. A little bit would not give a cat a stomach ache, anyways, so she began to nibble more, starting to develop a habit of randomly chewing the green fuzz.
Hmm? There was a weird, but familiar smell in the den that she faintly recognized, other than the usual Treeclan scent. 'No. I know this smell!' she thought, sniffing the den with her nose twitching. It was close to her, but not that close, and looking around, she saw a tabby tom, someone who sort of rung a bell to her blue eyes.
Who was he again?

WE WON'T BE FOUND Tallpaw yawned, rising to his feet and heading towards the entrance. He hadn't seen many of his friends as of late, not that he had many. Only two, in fact. Friends were hard to come by in his case. He hadn't spotted Gingerpaw for some time, but though the male hadn't been in his sight for nearly a moon, he seemed to always be the only thing on his mind. What would Gingerpaw think? What would Gingerpaw do? What is Gingerpaw up to at this moment? It wasn't like Tallpaw to act like this. CloudClan, something better not be wrong with me.
He hadn't fully realized what he was feeling, more like what he was feeling towards the tabby-patched male. He passed by a nest with a fluffy, white female much smaller then himself. Her blue eyes were trained on him. He paused, dark amber eyes narrowed. "Yes? Do you need something?" He inquired with frustration and impatience, rolling his eyes.
It wasn't until after he had looked closer at the she-cat that he finally began to recognizing. "Oh. Your that Barrenkit, aren't you?" He rolled his eyes, a sigh escaping his maw. "I can't tell if your an apprentice or not. Your still fluffy and small." He shrugged.

As the cat made his way over to her, she could not help but stare even longer. She smiled, hearing the voice slip out of his mouth. It was more defined than how she remembered, but then again, they were just kits when they met. The same impatient, awkward cat that she remembered him by. Tallpaw, her kit "father."
Barrenpaw gave a nod after he asked if she was that Barrenkit. 'At least he recalls the name.' she thought. Names were really big to her, and it was already an accomplishment for him to be able to recognize her name from the other apprentices' in here.
She did not know whether or not he was serious about his comment of her appearance. Fluffy and small was how she intended to be, unlike his defined figure. Tallpaw's was too common in the cats that she saw around here, but she took his word as a compliment, slowly getting out of bed, shaking her fur clean of moss bits.
It was assumed that he was about to head out of the den, so why not join him?

WE WON'T BE FOUND [he's so mean D:]
She seemed to remember him as well, but she wasn't speaking. He wasn't answering his questions, just watching him. She had done the same as a kitten, and he had never figured out why. Now he had an idea, for he was older and wiser. "Your mute," He stated, frowning. That must be like hell. He thought. What would it be like, not able to speak, or answer questions. To be able to defend yourself in arguments.
Of course he knew she wouldn't be able to answer. He huffed, turning away towards the entrance. He wouldn't have his time wasted by some feline that couldn't even talk. But when he began to leave, she followed. What did she want? Why can't you leave me alone?
Tallpaw headed towards the fresh-kill pile, aware that she was following. He dragged a finch off the pile, picking it up softly between his jaws. He turned, her image meeting his amber eyes. "Your following me." He stated, eyes questioning. "Would you mind telling me why?" He asked, a small smirk finding it's way onto his lips. "Wait. You can't talk, can you." He said. "That doesn't make it any less annoying. Maybe just a tad."

'Geez. He takes longer than most cats to figure that out.' Barrenpaw frowned at his comment discovering her defect. It was cats like him that made her insecure about being a mute. Other cats were more . . . compassionate towards her, one would say.
She trotted after him, like before in their kithood, only this time knowing that he was in fact, not her father. What a mousebrained kitten she was. As they made their way to the freshkill pile, Barrenpaw smirked, starting to learn that she was causing the tom to be quite restless. Did he not like talking to himself? She would have assumed he did, considering how high he seemed to think of himself. How was his mentor even able to cope with him?
'It's only annoying if you think it is.' she thought, before choosing a small vole for herself. She did not need the tom's permission to eat or not. Heck, if he wanted to get rid of her, it was not going to be this easy. Not when there was nothing to do in the clan. She took a bite of her snack and then stared at Tallpaw, amused by how much she frustrated him, when in reality, he was the one frustrating her.

WE WON'T BE FOUND The long-legged tabby male turned away from Barrenpaw, heading towads the edge of camp for a place to sit. He settled down underneath a few over-hanging cloud pine branches. He dropped the bird in front of his paws. He dragged it closer to himself with one paw. He looked at Barrenpaw out of the corner of his eye, shaking his head in disbelief.
"Do you follow everyone around like your their duckling?" He asked, cocking one fictional eyebrow. He leaned down to take a bite of his bird, parting the gray-brown feathers.
[really short, sorry]

As Tallpaw began to eat the bird, she shook her head, as in no. 'Just the interesting ones.' Barrenpaw did not know why the tom did not like her. Was it just because she bothered him as a kit, or was it just because he was more of a mysterious creature?
If only she could speak, then maybe the two would actually get along. She did not blame him for being so cruel to her, but then again, they were bound to see each other every now and then in the warriors' den once they were older.
Feeling like he wanted to be left alone for a while, the white apprentice padded a foxlength away to finish the vole, realizing how hungry she was starting to get. So much for a snack. She could not wait for Firespark to bring her hunting.

WE WON'T BE FOUND [i'm guessing the italicized part is barren mouthing words? i think we had a plot for them to become close, yeah?]
Tallpaw snorted after reading her lips, turning back to his finch. It was hard to talk to someone who couldn't talk—not that he wanted to. He liked being alone, or, rather, he liked being with Gingerpaw but that was about it. He didn't need some mute apprentice following him around like her life depended on it. He'd rather have his friends.
"So I'm interesting, then?" He asked as she got up to leave. He didn't know if she meant the words in a mean way or not, but it didn't matter. As she settled down a fox-length away, he sighed in relief. Good riddance. He thought. "I have a couple things to say about you." He huffed, just loud enough for her to hear.

yeah, the italicized is what she's thinking/trying to say. I honestly forgot, but it would be a change in their relationship, not sure if that's good or not.
She did not give a response to the tom, too focused on the vole. It was just a delicious taste, and having the creature's fur prickle among her muzzle tickled, making her smile inside.
When she heard his next sentence, the apprentice's ears pricked, waiting to hear what he had to say. Probably something to insult her or tease her. She could imagine that. Or what if he was going to try to exile her from the clan? Whatever. She was still apprentice, so what could he really say to her to make her leave? Treeclan was just as much her home as his.
Her tail thumped on the ground, and but did not look at him, still giving him her attention, waiting for the snarkiness to begin again.

WE WON'T BE FOUND [it might be interesting. they could keep bumping into each other and/or meeting on accident, and eventually, after a while, they could become closer. it would be pretty cute.]
The long-legged apprentice turned his attention to the finch, bending his head to take a bite. He felt eyes on him, and he only had one feline in mind. He glanced at Barrenpaw noticing she was watching. "What? Do you honestly want to here what I have to say about you?" He laughed, shaking his head in disbelief and amusement sparkling in his dark amber eyes.
"I don't think you want to hear," He added, cocking one fictional eyebrow, watching her reaction carefully. "I wouldn't want to hurt your little kitty feelings." Tallpaw meowed, opening his maw in a wide yawn as if he was bored. It wasn't a lie, but it wasn't necascarily ture either. Though she annoyed him, it was quite amusing.

Taking offense to him luring her to listen only to not tell her, Barrenpaw got up and slowly walked over to the tom, curling her muzzle a bit, as if she was about to hiss in his face. Why wouldn't he tell her? It was already torture, not being able to tell him that he was too much, and that she would rather never see him again until needed. He was the one after all, who started talking to her first. Really, he was.
Instead of letting out a hiss, she then gave a large smile, eyes shining with fire. She was not mad, but her paws were and made her way to his tail, deciding to take a sit on it.

WE WON'T BE FOUND Tallpaw blinked calmly up at the female as she attempted a hiss. Really, it wasn't intimidating—especially without the sound. As she broke into a smile and sat on his tail, he stared at her as if she was some freak. "Do you have some kind of defect?" He asked with a huff, flicking his tail out from under her.
"Born early? Or maybe your just having mood swings." He glanced over his shoulder, then back to his finch. He opened his maw in a wide yawn, feeling as if his jaw had unhinged. "Whatever is wrong with you, I'd appreciate if you'd take your tail-sitting somewhere else." He turned to his finch, ignoring the fluffy apprentice.
