@maplefrost A ball of soft moss was clamp in my jaws, the sheer size of the lump of foliage was enough to prop my jaw open painfully. I grumbled curses and groans over the mass of bedding. Cleaning out the elders' den was a chore I didn't look forwards to doing, but considering I had already swept away the old, crispy moss, I couldn't just up and leave.
I stepped in, eyes readjusting to the poor lighting that all dens harbored. I glanced around, trying to make sure that no one would be disturbed my my presence. Surging to replace the first set of nests, I bumped into something. I fell back letting out more foul curses. "Watch where 'yer walkin'!"

"I didn't realize I was walking anywhere," deadpanned Maplefrost from where he was relaxing. The calico elder had been rather severely depressed ever since his mother and best friend had suddenly died, but he was attempting to ignore his grief on a daily basis. Especially when cats were around. He didn't enjoy showing emotions too much.
But back on topic. This apprentice sure had a heck of a mouth; he'd never heard a young cat swear so profusely. At least, not to his elderly face. "D'you mind cutting back on the profanity a bit, kitty? Some of us are trying to sleep."
