(For Hawkbreeze and Leopardripple)Having just returned from a training session with Rainlight, Volepaw grinned to himself as he carried the hare he'd caught over to the elders' den. It was still pretty warm. Now, as he'd clearly never want to disobey an order from his mentor, he dropped the dead rabbit at the den's entrance and called out to the old bats dwelling within. "Hey, your grub'th here!"The long-toothed apprentice didn't always lisp, but it sure was annoying when he did. Too bad the medicine cats hadn't seemed to be able to help with that.

Awakening from her name, the old elder looked up and sighed "Bring it in here please young one. I'm afraid my old bones are stiff as can be and I'm afraid to move em" mewled the crazy elder that always had a twitchy eye. Then her nose started to twitch and she neck raised on her neck "Wait I smell a vile creature that better mean its a dead rabbit or there will be a dead something in my den!" she said.

His smirk broadened when Leopardripple was the one to respond. Stepping inside the den, he got a good view of the older black cat starting to bristle. Volepaw tossed the somewhat-bloody rabbit towards her and sat down near the den entrance.
"Well, if it isn't dead now, it probably will be thoon."

Hawkbreeze lifted his head at the sound of food. He was about to speak when Leopardripple interrupted his thoughts. He gave her a glare with his single eye. "Good CloudClan, Leopardripple, calm down! It won't do anything if it's dead." he snapped, lashing his tail. He heaved himself to his paws, walking to the entrance. He sniffed the prey before nodding at the tom.
"Thank you. Is there anything you need?" he asked. Perhaps the boy wanted to hear a story.

Aaaand the other elder was now awake and attentive. Cool. Volepaw briefly wondered who Hawkbreeze had ticked off so much that they'd blinded him, but decided that he probably shouldn't ask that aloud. Cats tended to get snappy when asked why they only had one eye, or how they'd lost half of their tail. "Not really," the black cat said plainly. "I heard that I'm supposed to clean a den, though, so I gueth I'll do this one. Hang on." Vole got to his feet and trotted off across the clearing. He knew that the medicine cats kept a supply of clean moss, and it wasn't as if they were gonna need all of it. So he 'borrowed' enough for two nests, rolled it into a ball, and carried it back across the clearing. "Right... so whose nest is first?"Leopardripple

Shooting a dirty glare at the Maine Coon elder, she made her back arched and she growled "Go away Hawkbreeze no one was talking to you, you are just mad that you lost me to a better tom!" she said swishing her tail from side to side and she lowered her eyes as she looked back at the apprentice "Anywho, thank you kit for bringing me food. Sorry I snipped I'm a bit insane." she said and shook his head "Anywho go ahead and get my nest first I suppose" she muttered crawling out of it. She shrugged and walked out.

Hawkbreeze looked at Leopardripple, giving her a snort. "No. I really am not mad about your idiotic love life. I'm tired of your stupid attitude, that's what I'm mad at." he replied, ignoring the she-cat. He was about to ask for him to go ahead and do his nest before he was interrupted by Leopardripple. He shrugged at the tom, grabbing the rabbit.

Ooh, drama. Tasty. It seemed like the old bats were pretty busy arguing about their conflicting love lives, plus they had his rabbit to eat. Volepaw spared a small glare at Leopardripple for calling him a kit as he walked over to the elders' nests; he intentionally ignored her request and got to work on Hawkbreeze's nest. It didn't take him too long to claw the old moss out. As the black cat was starting to replace it with fresh greenery, he glanced over his shoulder.
"I heard you're the storytellerth in FireClan," Vole commented rather innocently. It'd be pretty awesome if he could get some entertainment while he worked.

Hawkbreeze chuckled at the apprentice's comment. "I would say that, but I do have a few good stories." The old tom was sitting nearby now as the apprentice cleaned his nest. He took a bite out of his rabbit before he began speaking. "I was by the IceClan border once. There was this other older cat, maybe a bit older than me, and we hated each other at first site. This was back when I had both my eyes. We engaged in a bit of fighting, and I blinded the stupid mouse brain. In one eye, but that still counted for something."

The she-cat lashed her tail and shook her head "CloudClan I wish they would give elders their own den away from other elders. Now I see why Shadowwing always hid it was because of people like you" the she-cat hissed and then crouched down as she glared at the apprentice. She then shrugged and stalked over to the shadows in which she sat down and listened to Hawkbreeze.
"I wish the tom would of ended your life" she said harshly

The black cat kept his ears pricked while Hawkbreeze told his little story. He supposed it was pretty interesting, though he had to repress a snicker when Leopardripple spoke. Vole finished replacing the moss in Hawkbreeze's nest and moved on to the next one; he would've 'accidentally' left a thorn or two in it for the old she-cat if he could've gotten away with it.
"What'd you even hate each other over? Did this IceClanner taunt you or something?" Volepaw asked Hawkbreeze while he continued to work.

Hawkbreeze ignored Leopardripple's snide comments. He'd deal with her later, personally. The brown and white tabby shrugged. "I don't quite remember. I think something like that happened. We just starting insulting each other over something, and next thing you know, he was blinded."

The she-cat rolled her eyes and sat down. "Hawkbreeze probably insulted some family like he always does." she said and then looked over at the apprentice watching it closely as she blinked "But I guess the hawk was his karma taking his eye out and I was there to see it what a lovely afternoon it was" she said with a slight chuckle and then lay down.

"Excuse me, but who was the one who saved your life from the hawk? Hmm, I wonder. Oh, I know. Me. Shut your trap." he snapped at Leopardripple. "I will make sure you get a nice rabbit tonight if you don't stop. Maybe I'll even get your own mate to send it to you."

Volepaw finished setting the fresh moss in Leopardripple's nest, then set to work gathering all the old greenery and forming it into a ball. He tried his best to hide his smirk as he listened to the old cats bickering. In the black cat's opinion, an argument alone was a pretty poor reason to do permanent damage to someone, but he wasn't about to say that out loud. Vole mostly stuck to pranks that caused minimal injuries; he couldn't see himself clawing out someone's eyes over something petty.
"Right, well I'm done here. Bye," he meowed curtly. The apprentice grabbed the ball of old moss and carried it out of the den, tail swishing once in farewell.
(Go ahead and keep chatting here if you want, but Vole's out.)
