Vex was hungry, and it's a well-known fact that hungry creatures tend to do desperate things. This was no exception.
The grey tabby was currently running after a rabbit. She'd actually chased it right across the territory; one wrong move in her careful stalking had led to the hare darting off with her on its heels. Now they were both starting to tire. However, it seemed that luck would turn in the peasant's favor: her prey had started to get its legs weighed down by the swamp muck. Vex leaped... and brought it down. A brief struggle ended with her claws ripping across the rabbit's throat. Thank Darkpool. Maybe now I can not starve.
But as she stood up with her kill in her jaws, she found herself in a predicament. Vex's legs were rather stuck in the mud. In fact, she started to sink as she attempted to free herself.
Oops.

Being a scavenger, the life of stalking then attacking was a common one for her, though it rarely turned out well in her favor when she was younger. Now that she had gotten a bit better, she was watching as a rabbit was being chased by another of the rag-tag group. A struggle ensued, and the rabbit was killed.
It was her turn now.
Stalking out behind the cat, Strike's paws began to feel mushy, heavier than they should be, and she instantly knew what is was. They were in the swampy part of the clan, and this fool had just gotten themselves caught. Good news. But the rabbit was with her. Bad news.
Stepping back, she flicked an ear, and walked around to the other side of the cat rather casually. "Hello there," she greeted, giving a small, deceptious grin. "You seem to be having an issue? Do you need help, by any chance?"

Disturbed wandered around DeathClan. He had nothing to do but hunt, and he had caught four pieces of prey which he thought was enough. The tom decided to visit the swampy part of DeathClan territory. Disturbed walked there. He took a little while, but once he got there he realized that two grey she-cats were there. He unsheathed his claws, just in case. Disturbed walked towards them. "Did you two she-cats get yourselfs stuck?", he asked with a bit of a stuck up voice.

Before the youngling knew it, two other cats had arrived on the scene. She glanced between them warily. Having had her prey stolen one too many times in the past, Vex wasn't about to let this rabbit go without a fight. But… well, it was rather hard to protect her hard-earned meal when she was sinking deeper in this Darkpool-forsaken swamp.
"Um… yes," Vex meowed to the other female. "Can you toss me a branch or something?" The grey tabby tried in vain to move again. She shot a glare at Disturbed, taking note of his unsheathed claws.
I probably can't trust either of them. I'm running for it as soon as I get unstuck…

Disturbed realized that the youngling didn't trust him. "Good for you. Trusting me isn't the best idea.", Disturbed meowed, sounding sarcastic.
Disturbed waited. That rabbit looks pretty good. I might just get that for myself., Disturbed thought. "You need help with that rabbit? You're way too small to carry a piece of prey that big.", Disturbed said.

Strike cast a glance to the newcomer; someone she hadn't seen before. Younger, clearly, but not of a high ranking within the territory, for she would have known of him if he was. Another peasant; someone she wouldn't get in trouble for messing with. Good to know.
"Sorry, but I'm not stuck, the battle-scarred feline commented, turning her amber gaze on the male who had approached. Without making a big deal, she noticed the prey that he was carrying, and cheered silently to herself.
"Anyways, hold on a second, kiddo. It's a bit dryer on this side; I may be able to pull you out," she meowed, dipping her head to the opposite side before walking over. She cast a warning gaze to the tom; watching to make sure he made no moves. She had plans for him.
Positioning herself in the bit of more solid land, the blue-grey feline reached out, grabbing onto the young DeathClanner's scruff, trying to drag her out.

Vex bared her teeth at Disturbed when he spoke. Way to disguise your intentions, she thought sarcastically. The reason I'm so small in the first place is because of rats like you! I can't catch a single meal without having it taken from me.
Then the blue-grey female was reaching out to help her. Relieved to be pulled from the muck, Vex forgot about retrieving her kill until it was too late. She struggled out of the swamp's grasp with Strike's help and glanced back just in time to see the fat hare disappearing below the surface of the quicksand-like mess. The grey tabby quietly whined in despair; she could feel her stomach gurgling painfully.
"So much for that…" Vex sighed. Even if a cat could make it all the way out there and grab the rabbit, it was probably too soaked by the mud to hold any more appeal. Guess she'd be going another day without food.

Disturbed watched as the older of the she-cat's gave him a glare. He hissed. The she-cat's got out of the swampy mush. "Good job youngling. You're on a role right now.", Disturbed said when he saw the rabbit sink into the mush.
"So miss, what are you staring at?", he hissed to the older she-cat.

Watching as the rabbit sank in the mud, Strike's face twisted into something of anger and disappointment, as that was one of the reasons she was helping the youngling. Of course, she wouldn't deny that she still felt good getting her out, but no DeathClanner would ever admit that one out loud.
Flicking her ear to the tom, she let out a snort.
"I'm just watching for you to make a stupid move, as most of the cats in this clan do constantly," she replied calmly, standing next to the youngling she had just pulled out. Though she was originally going to steal her prey, there was nothing to steal, so being hostile was useless.

It didn't seem like the two adults would be attacking her… at least, not immediately. That was awesome. Vex had enough problems of her own without having to worry about combat: she was covered in mud, shivering, and rather depressed over the loss of the first good meal she'd seen in days. Her stomach gave a louder, more embarrassing rumble as she started trying to groom the disgusting muck from her thin pelt. It was times like this when she felt that Darkpool wanted her to die. Pick your poison, Vex… starvation, hypothermia, or a slit throat. Your choice.Of course, that was stupid. She wouldn't allow herself to join the ancestors anytime soon. Undeniably, a warm den and some food would help with that goal. The grey tabby glanced between the two bickering felines with a tired look in her eyes; maybe one of them would help her? Preferably the other she-cat… Getting the aid of one of these fox-hearts seemed pretty impossible, though. That just wasn't how DeathClan worked. Why help others when it's eat or be eaten? Cloud walked around trying to find were her den was again. 'Maybe I could ask someone..' She thought trying not to drop her prey. Suddenly she spotted two older cats and a young-ling. Carefully she dropped her prey and called "Can you tell me where I am?" She called.
