Turtlekit squealed as he was put onto the medicine den floor. He yelped, looking at the blood that surrounded him and stained his once snowy white, ginger and black fur.

((as you know... he lost his tail in a hunting trap))

(Sorry the old thread died! Is it alright if I post here? I don't know if Moonshine is gonna post, but I figured someone should probably be accompanying Turtle.)

Glowingpaw hated to admit it, but all of this blood was making him a little nauseous. He'd managed to free the calico kitten from the Twoleg trap with some difficulty. However, it seemed like his tail was a lost cause, and now the apprentice was sorta panicking over all of the blood loss. He'd never forgive himself if Turtlekit died because he hadn't been fast enough.

"Mintfrost, help!"

"Oh CloudClan.. this is a predicament now isn't it.." He searched the herb store for large sum of cobewebs. "We must stop the bleeding immediately." He grabbed some horsetail and chewed it to a poultice. He applied it to the wound and looked back at his herbs. He applied the cobwebs as well, he watched them soak up the blood and he ended up putting a few more layers. He took a few dandelion leaves from the herb storage and brought them over to Turtlekit's head. "Chew these, they will help with the pain." He'd definitely need them to act like painkillers with an injury like this. "The horsetail will help if any infections begin. It will also help stop the bleeding."

He looked over at Turtlekit. "If you find that the horsetail isn't working we can switch over to marigold, but for now we will see how things go with what I've done." He grabbed a few poppyseeds. "I doubt the dandelion leaves will be enough. Take these when you feel more pain, or if you want to sleep." He changed the cobwebs one more time and applied fresh ones.

He looked over at Glowingpaw. "How did this happen?"

the moon will continue to shine Moonsine stepped inside the den just as Mintfrost was finishing up. As much as she wished to be there for her son, she just couldn't look at the stump that had once been his tail without feeling as though it was partly her fault. If only he hadn't wandered out of the camp, then none of this wouldn't have happened. The silver tabby let out a sigh of relief as she saw Turtlekit with his tail, or what was left of it, wrapped up in cobwebs. She also spotted a smile pile of what appeared to be poppyseed, though to Moonshine all of the herbs just looked the same. One reason why she was not a medicine cat. Moonshine turned towards Mintfrost and smiled at him. "Thank you so much Mintfrost." Then she turned her attention back to Turtlekit. The she-cat leaned down and gave her kit a soft lick, careful to avoid treading on his injured tail. The patched apprentice took a pace back when the medicine cat appeared, and watched in silence while Mintfrost did his work. TreeClan was lucky to have someone who could handle injuries like this without panicking.

"I just found him when I was out in the territory. Somehow he must've gotten out of camp. There was this weird Twoleg thing that had gotten him by the tail;" Glowingpaw explained. He supposed Turtlekit was lucky that the trap hadn't caught one of his paws instead. A mangled tail wasn't as bad as a missing leg… although both were terrible injuries, and shouldn't have happened to a kitten.

He shot a questioning glance at Moonshine when she entered the den. Isn't she his mother? I wonder how Turtlekit managed to venture out of camp without anyone noticing, especially her.
