Darkstar prowled into the Shared Clearing, her paws leaving imprints in the snowy ground. She bounded up to the tree branch the leaders sat on and laid her tail across her paws, hunching her shoulders to try and block out more of the wind.

Ghostpaw followed his leader quickly, head ducked, ears down. He had made a little bit of a... ruckus, last time he attended a Gathering. And though the sights and smells of dozens of other cats milling around thrilled him, he promised to keep it low key. He wondered why he even bothered coming at all. But all though he pretended to wonder about this mystery, he knew the reason.
He padded in quickly after Darkstar, and glanced around. They seemed to be the first Clan here. He felt a little sad worm of disappointment wriggle in his stomach, but he suppressed it, sitting down, keeping a calm demeanour. It felt so... lonely almost with this little cats, but they would arrive he knew. A flood of them. He briskly licked his chest and willed TreeClan to show THERE IS A GHOST HERE

A shiver racked Cloverstar's body as she walked, trying to move quickly against the wind. Snow crunching under her paws, she crouched down briefly before making a shaky leap up onto the leaders' tree branch.
"Hello, Darkstar," she greeted, trying not to chatter as she readjusted her sitting position. "How is your Clan faring?"
It was a stupid question, she thought, since everyone know how well they usually fared in this kind of weather. But she couldn't think of anything else to say when all she wanted was to get this Gathering over with and go home as quickly as possible. It'd surely get colder the longer they stayed here.

Whitehawk padded in so that other Treeclanners could participate.

WORDS: 182 | TAG: | NOTES: xxx
Halfpaw made his way into the gathering grounds, following after his Clan mates. He tried to contain his excitement and keep all eyes on his surroundings - this was his first gathering, and as much as he would like to enjoy it, he was a bit of an introvert. Plus, he wasn't sure just how much he trusted these cats yet.
The grey colored cat peered at some FireClan cats from the other side of the clearing - their scent burning his incisors. It was much different from the scent of TreeClan - homely. Earthy. Comforting to him. He had only smelled their scent one other time, and it was on a mere border check.
He wondered if he should make use of himself, or hang behind - what would he do if some otherclanners approached him? It was all beginning to make him more flustered and defensive than anything, and he willed himself to calm. Stop thinking about the what ifs, and stop being so defensive. He took a deep breath, deciding to wait things out a moment or so.

Glowingpaw followed his mentor, the TreeClan deputy, into the Shared Clearing. His eyes were wide as as he looked around. There weren't many felines here yet. However, two she-cats were perched in the branches of a large tree. The patched apprentice assumed that these were leaders; he recognized Darkstar from what he'd already been told about her. She looked even more intimidating in person.
The young tom knew that Whitehawk probably had business to take care of, so he trotted into a different area of the clearing and sat down. Maybe he'd get to meet some cats from the other Clans! Then again, just being here and watching was nice, too.

I NEED A LITTLE ROOM TO BREATHE Thistlepaw looked around as he entered the gathering. It had been quite a while since he'd attended one, and the strange scents of the other clans were already making his head spin. It was bad enough with only Fireclan filling the clearing, not to mention Rockclan and Iceclan had not yet arrived. Taking a steadying breath the ginger and white tom searched the gathering space, eager to find an individual to watch or interact with, depending on his every changing levels of motivation.
Most of the cats his own age were part of Treeclan, but he spotted one stranger whose scent tickled his nose in an unfamiliar way, and with a determined gritting of his canines, the apprentice hurried over. "Evening! My name is Thistlepaw, I'm going to be someone great someday, so make sure you don't forget it!"

the moon will continue to shine
Moonshine padded into the clearing behind Whitehawk. She took a deep breath, and the scents of cats from different Clans enveloped her. She had only been to a gathering once or twice, so she didn't recognize many faces, besides the TreeClan cats of course. Deciding that it would be better than just standing around, the silver tabby began scouring the crowd for any cat that looked like they wanted to talk. W O R D S xxx

Ghostpaw raised an arrogant eyebrow at the newcomer. Was he deluded, or just young, stubborn or even special. Whatever it was, he needed a reality check. But he didn't want to be the one to school him. Someone would knock it out of him - it's not FireClan's job. He could tell he probably wouldn't become best friends with this guy. He glanced around, suppressing a sigh. TreeClan was flooding in and he couldn't see a single female apprentice - yet. He looked back at Thistlepaw
" Ghostpaw. " He briefly introduced himself before continuing to search with his eyes. His head was only half in this conversation. " Do you know if Finchpaw's here? " THERE IS A GHOST HERE

"It's cold," Darkstar muttered to Cloverstar. "We live in a clan without any trees so the wind is really bad this time of year. And the snow gets into your eyes when it blows. It's utterly disgusting."

I NEED A LITTLE ROOM TO BREATHE Thistlepaw's smile broadened subtly, sharp eyes glittering as he watched the tom's reaction. It was the complete opposite of warm, perhaps even a little rude, and the tom found it incredibly interesting. "Ghostpaw? And Fireclan, right?" He asked again, knowing the answer but desiring to continue the conversation, apparently against Ghostpaw's will. That also made it enjoyable. "Finchpaw? I didn't see her around, so I can't help. Sorry." I FEEL A LITTLE LOST IN THIS WORLD Notes go here! template by Margie @ Adoxography v2

we're standing on the sun Thymepaw danced into the clearing, striped tail waving like a cheerful banner. She hadn't been to a gathering in some moons, and was hoping this would be her last one before becoming a warrior. The pale she-cat had a smile fixed on her face, mischief and humour already in her eyes are she surveyed the clearing. She felt a brief pang of disappointment at the lack of Iceclan and Rockclan cats, but the scent of Treeclan was enough to cheer her up. Moving further into the clearing, Thymepaw sat perfectly still, hoping she'd be able to attract cats like butterflies with her stillness. NETTE OF GS

Rainspark entered the clearing, head held high. This was her very first gathering as a warrior, and she felt very proud of herself. She looked around the clearing, until her eyes fell on the she-cat she was looking for "Good evening! Guess who got her warrior name?" She asked the she-cat Wolfmist

Finchpaw trotted into the clearing after most of her clanmates arrived. The socializing before each gathering had begun. It didn't take long for her to spot an apprentice she recognized - Ghostpaw - along with one of her clanmates. The FireClan apprentice seemed to be looking for someone. She hoped childishly that the one he was looking for was her, but she shook her head to clear the thought. She shouldn't have been thinking like that, nor did she truly know what it meant - you could say she was more or less clueless.
The small female stood on her toes in an attempt to let them see her, a wide grin on her face. It was hard to tell if they had seen her or not, so she pushed through the crowd towards them. "Hello!" She greeted, eyes lingering on Ghostpaw as she turned towards Thistlepaw. "I think I've met you before, yes? Thistlepaw?"

And then Ghostpaw finally figured out this cats... attitude, demeanour, whatever you want to call it, and it wasn't good. The steely, hard cold-as-ice, hard-as-steel glint in his eyes that made his skin crawl. Sure, Ghostpaw wasn't the best guy - he wasn't overly social, his moods changed quickly, and he always judged a book by its cover with his keen eyes. But this cat thought his greatness was inevitable. He tried pushing his judgements aside though - this may be a long Gathering.
" FireClan, yeah " he said distantly. Finally his eyes caught the tips of a pair of brown and cream swirled ears just peaking above the flow of cats. His lip curled - she wasn't awfully tall. He turned back to Thistlepaw, trying to stay in the current conversation whilst his mind continued to wander.
But a lilting voice with the curve of a TreeClan accent just perfecting her words. He glanced up at her, naked relief exposed on his face before he rearranged his façade. " Hey " he struggled to fight as the corner of his mouth struggled to curl upwards. THERE IS A GHOST HERE
