    And so began the sickness. The sneezing, coughing, the everything that came with being sick. Green-cough hadn't been around yet this year as far as Brokenspirit knew, and of course with his luck, he'd gotten it first. Little did he know, it'd spiral out of control in the near future. 

    The tom was in well condition besides that wracking cough, constant sneezing, and running nose. He was sure that he looked like a wreck but there was nothing he could do about it now. His lungs and throat hurt from the coughing, his nose from the sneezing, and his runny nose froze in the cold. Brr.

    Brokenspirit looked over the quiet camp, he'd hardly gotten any sleep from the sudden coughing fits that sprang on him. They had never gotten this bad, and Brokenspirit knew he should get it checked. With tired eyes and paws, he plodded into the medicine cats den where he was absolutely terrified of Littlefox and Mintfrost.

    He sat down, a cough wracking his body, disrupting a word he was about to say. It nearly felt like he would cough up a lung but he knew better. With the severity of his cough, he figured he had gotten black-cough. But in all honesty it was ranging from a high green-cough to a low black-cough. If there was an in-between, Brokenspirit had it.

"Mintfrost? Littlefox?" He croaked, in-between coughing fits.

"You too, huh?" He narrowed his eyes. "This is concerning then." He looked through his herbs and looked at his low stock of catmint. "Ugh.. I do hate the kittypet area a lot.. But I'm going to need to get more catmint." He muttered to himself. "I could use chickweed.." He mumbled and with an irritated groan he grabbed a bit of honey. "I can tell you are suffering from coughing, a lot of cats seem to be coming in with the same problem. Unfortunately I don't know the entire diagnosis yet. None of you have had a fever yet which means maybe we won't be dealing with whitecough or greencough but its best to treat it as if it were." He grabbed a few herbs and padded over to Brokenspirit.

"Catmint is usually a better option but I want to keep what little I have available for if any of you get in worse conditions. For now please eat this tansy, I'm only giving you a bit because its not to be consumed in a large abundance." He grabbed the honey and placed it beside the tansy. "Please take that as well, it will soothe your coughs. The tansy should help stop the coughing and it's a good greencough prevention but right now this is all I can really do for you."

Brokenspirit nodded, knowing he wasn't the only one was killing him now. So that meant he'd gotten it from another warrior or such. The tabby tom nodded, coughing with weak voice. He'd watched as Mintfrost drifted back and forth like Waspwing had done before, of course taking care of so many would drive you crazy at one point.

"Right, of course Mintfr-" He was cut off by a hacking cough, "Mintfrost.

The silver tabby bent his neck and lapped up the tiny amount of tansy. HE chewed and swallowed the tansy before lapping at the sticky substance of honey. It soothed as it dripped down his throat and he let out a rasping purr. It felt good to be able to swallow and not cough. It'd nearly been a minute or two and he hadn't coughed in a while. He smiled at the medicine cat in thanks.

"Thank you Mintfrost. Shall I return if I get a fever or such? He meowed, softly.

"I think it'd actually be a good idea for you to stay in the den with all the other patients. I don't want you all getting the healthy cats of the Clan sick. At least take a break for a while until we can completely cure you. If it is greencough then I need to get some catmint in you as soon as I can. I have a patrol that's going to the kittypet place with me so we will collect as much as we can and then I can give you some. It is much better for fighting off greencough than tansy is." He explained.

"A fever would be concerning, so yes. I'd take it easy for a while, you need to let your body rest and eat and sleep as much as you can for the next while."
