195 words So somehow, I got this posted in Fireclan 0_o So to recap her night, she'd been saved from the frozen pond receiving cut her belly on the sharp ice, exhausted muscles, gotten a small cough with a fever, and a shivering chill. As well as a fear of fast moving object or suprise movements. All from a midnight charade. Stupid young mind.
The lynx tabby slunk into the medicine cats den where Flamingthorn was and she looked around. It hurt to even walk but it was her own fault now. Of course she couldn't have been out on the ice in the first place but... young mischievous minds like to wander you know.
Her belly stung from the constant motion of her shaking chills and the cut across her belly. It bled only a little now, but it could have been infected if she let it go too long. Shatterpaw shook from her chill, and coughed every few minutes. She didn't feel warm like her feverish pelt suggested, but instead felt like she was frozen.
"Erm.. Flamingthorn? Can you-" She coughed a minute before continuing. "Can you help me?"

Another hurt cat? He couldn't complain about the lack of work anymore. He was actually slightly happy he was able to help the cat. He took note of the young she-cat's wounds. Looks like you had fun. What happened? Well he knew he had to drop some cobwebs on that to stop the bleeding, and hit it with a good old dose of marigold in order to prevent infection. Finally the whole herb thing was becoming routine to him. Herbs and effects, star gazing, dreams were all things that became life interests to him. It was the dead of leafbare and being hurt or during this time wasn't the best.

091 words notes here~ complete post Shatterpaw looked over at the orange tom and nodded. He seemed unfazed by the continuous injuries. Although they had just gone to war with Rockclan and Fireclan, there hadn't seemed to be that many injured warriors and apprentices around. Her amber gaze looked over the tom and she dipped her head. A wracking cough took over her small body and she winced as it passed.
"T'was a midnight charade. Being saved from a lake." She meowed, looking at her paws.

She likely feel in. He had to combat a possible fever and chills now. He chewed up some borage leaves and feverfew and presented the mixture to her. Eat these please, it will help you and they may take a bit yucky, but it's for your own good. He applied the marigold and the cobwebs to her cut. Brightflame would be proud of me. He figured he must allow the herbs to take their effects now. How was your little charade otherwise? He was curious, since he didn't get out much. Plus one day he may have an Apprentice he might have to train.

108 words notes here~ complete post Shatterpaw wrinkled her nose and she lapped at the mixture, a foul taste in her throat. He was right, it was gross and yucky but she had to eat it if she wanted to get better. The she-cat looked up at him and smiled in response. Her charade he asks? Well that was a heck of a story.
Lets just say, being saved by a half brother who thinks you're a mistake and that you shouldn't live, isn't exactly the best thing to do in the night. She replied, tears coming back up from Owain's hurtful words.

Siblings? He wondered what they were like. If he had any he didn't remember them, just the fact he spent his early life struggling to survive alone in Rogue territory. Then those cats. Those cats he swore were made of cloud came to him in a dream and told him to come here. That was how he became Medicine Cat. An Iceclan patrol discovered him coming toward their camp and Brightflame spared him from the shame of imprisonment and took him as his Apprentice. You seem like a fine young she-cat so I don't see how he can think you're a mistake. His face softened at the sight of her tears and gave her a assuring lick on the cheek.

She blushed as the golden tom licked her cheek. He seemed to feel that she wasn't at all.
As far as Owain is concerned, Wingpaw, Mudkit, and I are mistakes. Kits that weren't supposed to be. But can you blame him? I guess we stole his father away from his mother. I don't know. She shrugged, looking up at him with soft eyes.
She'd never met Flamingthorn before but already she liked him like he was her own brother.

Well being cruel to his siblings isn't a great way to get her attention again. He may just be jealous, so I wouldn't take him too seriously. He couldn't bear seeing her cry it hurt him to pay witness to it. He wanted to help her, but that was her decision if she would let him. Besides, he was just the Medicine Cat what could he do?

I dont know, he sounded pretty serious. Even after he saved me from drowning in the pond. She muttered, looking cross.
Shatterpaw buried her face in Flamingthorn's chest and she sighed.

He felt himself burning up out of embarrassment due to this action. He was a medicine cat and a relationship was a violation of the pledge he took. He would still try his best to comfort her. It's okay, just let it all out.

Was he being consoling..? Or was he just being nice? Shatterpaw looked up at him and she almost smiled.
Are you sure you wanna know? It's a kinda long story.. I don't wanna waste your time.

I have plenty of time. I don't have too terribly much to do otherwise. He was trying to be both nice and consoling, but part of it was him being him and the other part as his job.

Shatterpaw sighed and brought her face out of his chest fur.
It started when I told him that he didn't belong. HE told me that me and my littermates weren't part of his family and that we're mistakes. We arent supposed to be born. THat out father never loved our mother and we shouldn't have come back. She broke off, a sob choking her.

He had to be careful here. Delicate as well. Why did you feel he did not belong? he asked. That would be the easy part, tackling the root of the problem. I think he may of been upset that's all.

I thought he was a rogue with no feelings and was just trying to get close to my family to destroy me. Which he has. I didn't know we shared fathers. It's heartbreaking knowing that you were an unplanned kit and that your parents don't even like each other. I just feel like such a burden. She whispered, her voice seeming disappearing.
