Cinderlily this'll probably be short xDWingpaw trotted out of the apprentice's den - well, you couldn't really call it a trot. More of a waddle, thanks to his stubby legs - a bright grin lighting up his small face. He headed for the fresh kill pile, grabbing a mouse, the perfect size for him, and settled down underneath a slippery-looking overhanging rock. Maybe I'll see Owain today! He thought, beginning to feel excited. He looked up and cocked his head as a warrior approached him. "...H-hi."

"Hey little one." Cinderlily spoke, snagging a large bird from the pile and nestling in. "What's up scrap, what's your name?" She asked warmly; at least he was lil and cute. She had a soft spot for kids/adolescents. Whatever.

Wingpaw smiled sheepishly. "O-oh it's Wingpaw." He replied, clearly nervous. "You can, uh, sit if you'd like," he offered. "Or not. Um." He glanced at his paws, embarrassed.

Taking the younger cats offer, Cinderlily settled in beside him, munching her chosen prey. "Cinderlily." She noted, licking the animals blood from her lips and looking around through teal eyes. "So, where's your mentor? Or, your friends anyway?" It was rather unusual to not see an apprentice among other apprentices or at least trailing after their mentor or an elder.

Cinderlily. It was a pretty name, but he didn't dare say so, and he smiled at the sound. "Huh? Oh, um, my mentor is Owain... I don't know where he is," he replied truthfully, looking down at his paws. Maybe I'm supposed to...? "I don't know where my friends are, either."

"Oh, old owwy or whatever is your mentor? Riiiiiight." She said, finishing up her meal and discarding the bones. "Well, at least you've got friends right? More than you could say for me." The tabby said with a shrug, rising to her paws though only amounting to about the same size as the apprentice.

Wingpaw tilted his head. "...Owwy...?" He asked, slightly confused. Why had she called Owain, Owwy? "O-oh, I don't have many friends. Most of my friends are family," that was more or less true. He hadn't really spoken much to another that wasn't related to him, save for a few. "You don't have any?" He asked with a frown. But she's so nice! Why doesn't she have any? "I-I can be your friend!" He smiled in embarrassment, but his words were true.

"I understand, though I used to be quite popular before I ventured off to loner territory. Everyone I was friends with was typically much older than I, perhaps they hung out with me for the rush. I was always getting into trouble..They're all dead now though." She said rather nonchalantly. "Family is good, though I wasn't exactly close to mine. They were all rather rude or boring or annoying." The she-cat said with a shrug. "I'd like that, Wingpaw right?" She said with a small smile.

He listened silently, eyes wide. Dead? He'd never thought about death before. It hadn't really occurred to him that it could happen. "O-oh," he murmured sadly looking at his paws. He couldn't imagine what he'd do if his friends died. He nodded at her question. "Hey, um, do you think you could uh... teach me how to swim?" He asked, mustering up the courage. "Owain is scared and I don't want to force him."

"Swim? Sure. Ha, what a scaredy cat. I offered to teach him and his excuse was it's too cooooold." She rolled her eyes. "I can teach you though my brave little protege. Come on." She said, trotting off to the river, only assuming he would follow.

Wingpaw giggled. "IceClan cats shouldn't be afraid of the cold!" He grinned, getting to his tiny white-tipped paws. He was grateful to have a friend that wasn't any taller than himself - it was getting tiring, really. But now he wouldn't feel out of place. He followed after her, trying to keep up. They would have been about the same speed if he had been used to the rough terrain of the mountainside. "Um, last time I saw the river, it was really pretty! It's all icy and..."

"Oh believe me, Fei'lan was teaching me how to catch fish and I took a bit of a swim." She said, still remembering the overwhelming chill of the water. At least there wasn't much of a current. As the approached the water, Cinderlily dipped herself in, just to the point of the frigid water reaching her belly fur - so, it would probably be the same depth for him. "C'mon."

"Fei'lan?" He twitched his ears at the sound of the name. "That's my daddy!" He meowed, excited that his new friend had already met his father. Wingpaw followed after her, into the water, the feeling of it lapping against his belly an odd sensation. "It is cold! But not too cold. My fur is warm."

"Your dad too? So Owain is your mentor and brother?" She asked rhetorically, man, she seemed to be meeting pretty much people only related to this Fei'lan guy. "Alright, good." She said, wishing she had thicker fur to shelter her from the cold. "All you've gotta do is kick your legs. It's kind of like running." She said, wading out further until she had to swim, doing the cat doggy paddle looking thing through the waters. "See?"

Wingpaw nodded. "Yep! It's pretty great. He's a really good mentor and brother. We're very close," he grinned at her, studying her pelt. "Aren't you cold? Your fur looks pretty short," he murmured, giving a small shrug. He stood in the spot where the water reached his shoulder, afraid to go on. "What happens if...if I can't swim?"
