        Badgerkit was definitely the best of the five kittens. She knew that they were all trouble-makers and rebellious. What could she do about it however, they would all be that way long through their young lives. She didn't talk to anyone much, just her mum. Which was hard to do when she was busy keeping track of the rest of her litter.

        The black she cat lay in the nursery and rolled around on her back, mussing up her black pelt once again. Her pale green eyes looked up at the ceiling, bored out of her mind. She was the odd one out of the litter, with Whitekit & Dustkit being so close, and Berrykit & Snowkit being close. She was the runt of the litter anyway, but with her breed being so big boned, eventually she'd be much bigger then the rest of the litter. 

Badgerkit was a much bigger she-cat already and she knew it. Her chest was more rounded, her paws were larger, and her hindquarters were more set based for her agile jumping ability.

Cloudspirit walked into the nursery to meet some more of his kits when he noticed Badgerkit all alone, so he padded over. "Hello Badgerkit." He mewed. "It's me, Cloudspirit, your father."

Badgerkit rolled her eyes. Yeah, she knew that's who her father was. Was he dumb? She rolled onto her paws and sat down looking at him. It was uncanny how she looked exactly like her mother but had black rosettes and had green eyes. Where ever they come from she had no idea.

I know who you are. I'm not stupid. She retorted.

"I never said you were stupid, young one." Cloudspirit mewed gently. "I didn't know if you remembered me, since the last time I saw you was when you were born. You've gotten a lot bigger since then, though." Cloudspirit looked his kit up and down, and admired how she looked like her mother.

[Badgerpaw]

Badgerkit rolled her eyes and looked at him. Would she not remember her own paternal side?

"I'm obviously bigger then before. I can be small forever." She rolled her eyes.

[Cloudspirit]

"Of course not, young one." Cloudspirit mewed, and then curled his tail around his kit. "Are you looking forward to you training?" He asked. "It can't be too far away now. Your other siblings have already started, but I know you'll catch up quick."

[Badgerpaw]

Of course i'll catch up quick. I just don't know who will train me. Hopefully Thornfrost. I like him. She meowed, looking up at her father.

She felt his tail around her and she looked down at it, and bending down an biting it. Of course she would, she's only a kit you know.

[Cloudspirit]

Cloudspirit let out a purr of amusement, and then a sad look came over his face. "Badgerkit, I need to talk to you about something important... You won't understand this until you're older, but I'm going to have to tell you now. Badgerkit, I'm going to be gone, really soon... You won't see me for a while, and I'm really sorry, I will see you after a while, I promise."

[Badgerpaw]

Her dad was leaving her? No way.

You can't leave. It'd hurt mommy. And me. She cried, looking over him with tears brimming her eyes.

[Cloudspirit]

Cloudspirit curled his tail around Badgerkit comfortingly. He was out of time. "I'm sorry, Badgerkit. I love you, and I promise, we will meet again." With that, he hurried away.
