The wind ruffled my fur, gently caressing me until I woke. I stirred next to my mother, Lightfall's side, feeling my eyes slowly flicker open, like the first flicker of light of a candle. I took in my surroundings, staring in amazement as I took in the vivid green leaves, some with dewdrops resting on them, some reflecting brilliant beams of golden sunlight off and illuminating the nursery. I took in the familiar smell of all the cats surrounding me, and I was sure one day I would be able to identify any cat just by their scent. I could feel the comfortable feathers and moss beneath me, and wanted nothing more than to curl up back next to my mother.
But I also wanted to explore.
My tiny mouth opened and let out a tiny purr-yawn, and I stretched each of my aching limbs. It felt like I had been curled up in a ball for eternity. I looked around the scented cats, trying to find one I recognized- besides my mother, of course. I smelled one that was very familiar coming from....I thought for a moment, right behind me.
