Pokemon Shiny fail or success

OK so I was playing Pokemon heartgold, training for the ghost gym when I came across a shiny growlite. I tried so hard to catch it but it used roar and I failed

So, has anyone have a shiny fail or success. Post ur stories here

Never actually caught a shiny, although I've missed a couple over the years. My current shiny team is Abomasnow, Metang, Jolteon, Quilava, and Absol - one was an event Pokemon and the other four came from friends. :'D

I'm trying to hatch a shiny Noibat right now. Dunno how well that'll go.


Edit: Accidentally hatched a shiny Honedge last night. He's beautiful. :3

I've got a box full of shinies:) Very proud of them all. Just to name a few, there's shiny Raikou, Time & Space & Distortion trio (I have 4 of each), Archeops, Luxray, Shinx, 2 Zubats (I think I have 2, I don't know), Absol (got on GTS in exchange for a Chespin, best deal ever), Kangaskhan (got off Wondertrade, which was epic), 3 Eevees, Umbreon, Hydreigon, Pidgeot, Loppuny, 3 Gengars, a Magikarp and a couple dozen others.
Yeah, I have a fewXD Then again, I've been playing simce I was 8

I've had a few shinies escape me: a Psyduck, Graveller (which blew up in my face) and a few more I can't even think of right now:P

At the moment, I'm hunting a shiny female Growlithe, using the chain hatching method thing with a Japanese Ditto and Japanese Growlithe with egg moves and IV's. So far, no luck, even though I have three boxfulls of the things:(

Adding to my pile of shinies: I got a shiny Noivern the other day. Pretty sure it was obtained illegitimately… since it has a perfect nature, ideal moveset, apparently reached level 100 in the span of one day, and was holding a master ball. But it's glorious anyway.
