DeShay strutted through the badlands, acting like he was the boss. He had just joined a group, the Blackguards, and as he was strutting he saw a prairie dog. He crouched down, belly low, tail barely touching the ground. He slowly approached the prairie dog, and when he got close enough, he jumped. He bit the prairie dog's neck, and dragged it over to a spot where he could lay and eat. He took a bite of the prairie dog, savoring the flavor. He hadn't eaten in a while. He was so preoccupied that he didn't hear someone approach.

Badger was still trying to adjust to his new life. His earliest memories involved living in Deathclan, and now he didn't live there. Heck, he was leading a new group. He was currently exploring the lands beyond his little 'camp', which were apparently known as the Badlands. How he had never heard of this place before confused him, but he liked it.
He had been lost in thought until he saw someone not too far away. As he got closer he realize that it was a tom, DeShay was his name, and he was eating. Badger hadn't actually met the youngster, but he knew he was part of the Blackguards. He padded up and nodded. "Those things, what're they called, prairie dogs? What a dumb name. They're nothing like dogs. Anyway. Do they taste good?" He asked gruffly, sitting down next to the tabby-tom and he curled his tail around his paws.

DeShay looked up from his meal, welcoming Badger like an old friend, giving him an old smile, and having a look that said 'Thanks for letting me join the group'. DeShay raised his fictional brows, cocking his head to the side. "Yes, if I remember they are called prairie dogs. And yes, they taste quite good. But that might just be because I haven't eaten in so long."
He took another bite, and then asked Badger, "You were in DeathClan, weren't you? I don't like them, all they do is try to cause trouble and start wars. They're basically killing themselves."

Badger was actually quite glad that a cat like DeShay was in his group. Badger didn't particularly like others, and hated the Clans, but he wasn't necessarily BAD. He nodded along as the younger cat spoke about prairie dogs. But then he moved on to talking about Deathclan, and Badger couldn't help but tense a little.
The tom's comments were all true, but even still Badger couldn't help but find some naivety in them. "They're....much worse than you've probably heard." He said, trying to fake a smile. He couldn't help but remember how he'd scarred several cats for life. He had been such a monster in that time. Hopefully now he could get past all of that.

DeShay nodded his head at Badger's comment about DeathClan. "Yes, but I shouldn't talk about your past. That was the past, so leave it in the past. You need to focus on the present, and how you've got a whole life ahead of you." He said.
DeShay got up, finishing his prairie dog. He wanted to look around a bit, being that he was curious. It'd be nice to have another cat's company. "So, Badger. I haven't really explored much of these Badlands, care to come with me?" He asked, getting up.

Badger cocked his head at the tom's question. Back in Deathclan if someone had asked him to travel with them he wouldn't laughed and walked away. Then again, back in Deathclan travelling through the swamp with someone usually resulted in bloodshed. He shrugged and got to his paws. "Sure, why not. You lead the way." He said, nodding forward.

DeShay nodded, and then began to walk. The Badlands were a rather harsh land. At times it could be so hot that your fur would burn off. After a little bit, DeShay had spotted a large group of what appeared to be mounds with holes in them, leading into the ground. (Prairie Dog Holes)
"Hey Badger, what are those?" He asked, nodding in the direction of the holes.

(Hey sorry for that late reply~)
Badger followed after the little tom cat. The Badlands were odd, and definitely different than the swamps and pines of Deathclan. But, odd as the place was, Badger enjoyed it enough so far. New prey, new scenery. It was all very calming.
Suddenly DeShay pointed something out, mounds that appeared to be odd mouse holes. He cocked his head an shrugged. "Either some sort of prey, or a snake. I wouldn't stick your paw in the hole, well, unless you want to risk the venom of an adder." He said nonchalantly, as if a snake was no big deal.

(no problem)
DeShay shrugged. "Yeah, meeting an adder isn't on my to-do list." He said. He had never seen any other land besides the Badlands. He had been born here as a child, and this was all he knew. "What were the clan-cats land like? Was it like this place, hot and desert-y?" He cocked his head to the side. He had heard rumors that the clan-cats live in great mountains and near giant pools of water.
(might not be on till like 1:25, I'm in school)

Badger shook his head at DeShay's question. "No, they're quite different. Two of the Clans, Ice and Rock, live in the mountains. Rockclan is sort of like this, except cold and high up. Iceclan has trees, and a river. Treeclan lives in a shady forest, which I envy, and then Fireclan...Well, Fireclan lives basically here, but instead of basically nothing but rock and sand, they have lots of grass. Tall grass, actually. Someties it's higher than your head." He said, frowning.
Those stupid Clans did have one good thing, their land.

DeShay listened about the clans with envy. "They have all that?" He asked in awe. Then he thought of an idea. "Badger, I'm not gonna necessarily hurt anyone, but maybe you could send me out, as a spy, you know? Maybe to like scout around, maybe find some more land that we could use. I've actually heard there was a plains a few days walk north of here."

Badger shrugged as he walked and listened to the tom. "Yea, sure, do whatever you want. As long as you don't betray me, and as long as you help the Blackguards as much as you can, I don't really care where you go or what you do." He said calmly, looking at some grass up ahead.
"Try spreading the word about the Blackguard, if you want. Don't make us sound like Deathclan, or like a Clan, if you do. You don't have to, either. Whether or not cats join isn't really important to me." He said, turning.
"Anyway, I think I'm gonna head back to the quarry. I should talk with Holly and Wolf about the odd prey and..whatever this territory is called." He said.

The tom nodded his head, and could already feel the excitement bubbling up inside him. "Yes, I won't make us sound evil, just that we shouldn't be messed with, and that they should leave us in peace. I'm thinking about going to TreeClan." He nodded his head when Badger said he was going. "Okay, and I should meet this Holly."
