If Nutmeg had joined ThunderClan, she would be a she-cat called Nutflower. Though, being she was a former kittypet, wouldn't be one of the bravest or most dependable cats around. Nutflower would be a pretty downgraded warrior, but her kits would all grow up in the Clan, labeled all as kittypets. Firekit, Petalkit
((Princess)), Leafkit
((random she-kit sister)) and Lightningkit
((random tomkit brother)) quickly became apprentices. Firekit became best friends with Graykit early on. When they became apprentices, Bluestar mentored Firepaw, Longtail mentored Lightningpaw, Mousefur mentored Petalpaw, and Spottedleaf found herself training Leafpaw.
They grew up fighting the nicknames of kittypet from their Clanmates. Petalpaw and Leafpaw had a giant crush on Dustpaw, but with Leafpaw's medicine cat loyalties and Petalpaw not liking any of his insults, they soon drifted their attention elsewhere. Well, Leafpaw didn't. She secretly kept and held in her feelings. Lightningpaw had a thing for Sandpaw, which Firepaw somehow didn't like, and Petalpaw soon started drifting closer to Ravenpaw. Lightningpaw then also had a crush on Spottedleaf, which Firepaw didn't like either. The
Fire Will Save Our Clan prophecy was received at their apprenticeship by Spottedleaf, and the medicine cat did believe it was Firepaw with Bluestar's added theories to back it up.
When the battle against ShadowClan happened, at where Spottedleaf was murdered by Clawface, that didn't happen. In an attempt to protect his love and prove his loyalty, despite being a kittypet, Lightningpaw gave his life and was slained instead. The Clan mourned briefly, with Nutflower's family sitting a vigil all night, as did Spottedleaf. But no one else stayed that long, so Firepaw instantly felt his heart shredded by his heartless Clanmates.
Ravenpaw actually stayed, considering his feelings for Petalpaw grew, and after the ShadowClan battle they were all made warriors-Fireheart, Graystripe, Raventail, and Petalfur. Tigerclaw didn't go after Raventail, because the tom had spoken his fears to Petalfur, who now never left his side. Petalfur decided to help Fireheart uncover the truth about Tigerclaw. They still felt extremely guilty Lightningpaw didn't become a warrior with them. Yellowfang went back to ShadowClan to care for them, being ThunderClan already had two medicine cats.
When they were given apprentices, Fireheart and Petalfur took over Birchpaw's training when Graystripe started to leave after falling in the river. Sure enough, he fell in love with Silverstream. Petalfur had to stop training Birdpaw, for she was in the nursery expecting Raventail's kits. Or, so everyone thought. Secretly, Petalfur had been sneaking away to Twolegplace. It was where her mother had grown up, and she was curious. There, she met Smudge, who also became a friend of Fireheart's when she took her brother to meet him, and they fell in love instantly. The kits were Smudge's. Poor Raventail didn't have the slightest clue, dancing around proudly, and Fireheart didn't have the heart to tell him and betray his sister.
Petalfur's kits were born before Silverstream's, and she named them Cloudkit, Smudgekit(tom), Mintkit(she), and Couragekit(she). If you asked how she got the names, her secretly kept answer would be from the clouds in StarClan, the father of the kits, the mint growing at Twolegplace, and the courage she needed to tell Raventail. Or... maybe the courage to keep the secret.
When Cinderpaw went to the Thunderpath and got in the accident, Spottedleaf and Leafpaw took care of her. Leafpaw stayed up all night for her brother's apprentice, while Fireheart himself talked quietly with Spottedleaf in hidden grief. Leafpaw didn't notice the ties growing between her mentor and the warrior.
Silverstream did die having kits, and Petalfur gave them her milk. At that time, Cinderpaw had been helping the medicine cats as an assistant, and both her and Leafpaw had been present during the birth. Each were heartbroken, and Graystripe did eventually leave to RiverClan. Fireheart grew closer and closer to Spottedleaf, and Sandstorm.
One day afterwards, Nutflower announced she was leaving the Clan to return to Twolegplace. She asked her remaining kits to join her. Each had disagreed, and now Nutmeg departed sadly back to her old home. Good news, though, she became close to Smudge and learned the true father of Petalfur's kits. She felt guilty for Raventail, and knew he needed to know the truth. During her time sitting on the fence, a moon after leaving, she saw a patrol and asked to see Raventail. There, Nutmeg spilled the truth. And Raventail walked home with little breathing and a growing anger.
Petalfur was devastated when he learned the truth, and she pleaded for forgiveness. But Raventail announced his own departure, saying he was going to take Mintpaw and Couragepaw, now apprentices, with him. Petalfur fought her former mate for their stay, but was defeated, and in a sobbing mess she watched the cat she loved take her two kits away. Raventail and his kits joined Barley at the farm. But, within their stay, Mintpaw was killed by a corn-monster and Couragepaw was shredded and eaten by the dogs. Perhaps it would have been better if they had stayed in ThunderClan....
Cloudpaw and Smudgepaw, his mentor being Dustpelt, grew up strong and quick. When Tigerclaw betrayed the Clan, they easily supported Fireheart as deputy, and even Petalfur held back her grief to congratulate her brother. Leafstone, who had been given her name at the last medicine cat Gathering, joined in as well. Yet there was grief in their eyes. Spottedleaf had been killed by Tigerclaw's own paws, and now Leafstone was medicine cat. She instantly made Cinderpaw her apprentice, and said that despite how long she had waited for her name, she would have to earn it in healing. Cinderpaw agreed. Cloudtail and Smudgepelt were made warriors, and Petalfur was bursting with pride at that. Graystripe returned to the Clan, and Petalfur suggested they fight for Featherpaw and Stormpaw. Even if they liked RiverClan, they should belong in ThunderClan-she mused-still affected with her own loss of her kits. And being she had fed Graystripe's son and daughter, she considered them lost family as well. Graystripe was extremely against the idea, but being the majority out voted him and Petalfur wouldn't give him any say in the matter((coming from a grief-stricken queen)) he was forced to battle.
In the battle for the kits, however, Petalfur was killed. They did bring Featherpaw and Stormpaw to ThunderClan, though. But they didn't really enjoy themselves. And the tension was high with RiverClan. Cloudtail instantly hated the Clan that killed his mother, and even Fireheart held the beginnings of a grudge. Smudgepelt was furious, demanding revenge, while Leafstone just watched with a sad expression, tied between being a neutral medicine cat and a sister. Cinderpelt eventually earned her name, and Feathertail and Stormfur grew to accept their new fate.
Smudgepelt was later killed by a bout of greencough, and Fireheart knew of the dogs in the territory. Brightpaw, Swiftpaw, and a strange brown apprentice called Preypaw who was said to be a rouge kit Leafstone found, went to fight them. In actuality, Preypaw was Leafstone and Dustpelt's son, the only survivor of her litter. Yet him and Swiftpaw were killed against the dogs.
In that same time period, Tigerclaw killed Brindleface and Leafstone for the dog pack. Leafstone was at the actually dog den, having her pelt picked at for stray meat, while Brindleface was saved. Fireheart now had all siblings dead, Spottedleaf, Petalfur's kits((except Cloudtail)), Preypaw((which Dustpelt had told him about after his mother's death, and the kit had no idea who his parents were all to add further to this, so he died parentless)), Nutmeg, Raventail, and Cinderpelt's accident. Everything scarred him, and when Bluestar died, he sadly took his place as Firestar.
So, Nutmeg and Petalfur
((again, Princess)) are dead, so why does the story continue? Well, it goes on the same as it always had. Except-this little bit here.
Firestar and Sandstorm had two kits. Leafkit was named after Spottedleaf, Leafstar of SkyClan, and his sister Leafstone. Squirrelkit was named for her bushy tail, and having a slight naming after Preypaw.
