These are different tales between a random Clan idea I came up with. Not an actual story, perhaps just little history things passed down? Not sure myself.
The Clans are situated on a mountain, if the title didn't give you that clue already. There are four total-between a tall peak called Moon Mountain((where the moon sets)) and a peak to the east called Sun Mountain((where the sun rises)). Moon Mountain is shockingly bigger than Sun Mountain, so it holds two Clans.
There is no StarClan. Only SunClan and MoonClan, bitter enemies.
On Sun Mountain, excluding the frigid top, is where ShockClan stay. In Rocky terrain, they learn to jump and grow strong muscles. Strength is key here. They respect SunClan.
In the middle is a valley, full of green grass and a crystal river dividing the middle. This is where GrassClan is. Though, a secret kept within, the Clan is divided by this crystal river. On one side is GrassClan cats who go with SunClan, and the other is by MoonClan. Most are with the sun, but there are of course opposed to this. They are kind and let in almost any outsiders.
Going up Moon Mountain is EmberClan, in deep forests along the mountain. They are strong and agile at tree climbing. They respect MoonClan, though it is whispered one or two have a soul set towards sunlight.
Above EmberClan is IceClan. The cats used to the cold. They cover the rest of Moon Mountain, as high as their thick pelts can stand in the snow and blizzards. They are all with MoonClan.
So... yeah. Yolo.

How IceClan Wanted Both Peaks -mostly unedited-
It was a cold leaf-bare. The four Clans upon the mountain had been unusually quiet. Borders were left unmarked, prey was not killed fast enough, and young and old were dying each day.
When the full moon came around, three Clans came late. Only IceClan was there early. It was rather odd, considering the frost-bitten warriors were the farthest from the valley. But everyone was too hungry to dwell on this suspicion, and soon, cats broke away to share stories and grieve about the deceased. Froststar, leader of IceClan, sat on the boulder in the river where the leaders made their announcements, her tail curled around her claws and eyes narrowed. It wasn't like her to be so uncomfortable, especially since she held high respect for most of the other Clans. The other three leaders quickly took their places beside her, and the Gathering began.
"Prey is running well," Volestar, the GrassClan leader, meowed. Though his skinny warriors proved this to be false. Even though GrassClan had the beautiful valley land to hunt for their food, it seemed even they were starving. The gray tom sat down without another word after that, and a few of his cats growled out comments about the deceased not being mentioned. He only flicked the tip of his tail and nodded to the next leader.
Eaglestar was a proud leader of EmberClan. His tabby pelt resembled that of a tiger, some whispered, and his claws were said to be sharpened by the moon itself. He stepped forward, head held high and amber eyes glistening. "EmberClan is good as well. We lost a few cats to hunger, but we live on in their memory. Their spirit still burns as the last embers of their fire die out, for they were true warriors." Eaglestar meowed, his gaze seeming to sharpen when loud cheering broke out in his Clan. He didn't know his words would be used for moons to come to honor the dead in EmberClan.
"Nothing to report, besides cats died." growled Quickstar of ShockClan, lashing her tail. The golden she-cat was known for her ill-temper and uncaring attitude, though her warriors seemed to have been used to it, since all they did was nod at her choice of words. And what they probably liked about her was she wasn't a cat to wait around and find out things later. With a snarl, the golden tabby whirled around and glared furiously at Froststar. "What in the name of SunClan is wrong with you? Sitting there with your tail curled around your claws, and glaring at my warriors? I didn't travel half across the mountain for your maggot-eaten eyes to stare at me, you matted she-cat! Speak!"
The white she-cat, the youngest of the four leaders, stood up. With a low growl, she revealed fangs. "I will, horrid one. And you will listen and obey. IceClan lives near the top of the mountain, in the snow and frost, with little prey and warmth. EmberClan offers no forest for us that has anything but snow, and we cannot climb to the top for the cold is so intense in leaf-bare. Yet, just across the valley, is another peak. A snowy peak. What would ShockClan need with territory so similar to our own? They cannot hunt our prey, and survive in our weather." Her blue eyes traveling across the clearing, she nodded as if to herself. "IceClan claims that peak on Sun Mountain our own. Any ShockClan cats found there will be driven out, and any EmberClan or GrassClan cats who stop us will be injured. Without the peak, we will starve."
Yowls of outrage erupted throughout the cats, mostly from ShockClan's direction. And to say Quickstar was angry would be an understatement. She was furious. Some say they rather fight a pack of wolves than face Quickstar at her utmost rage. Even her own Clanmates feared the voice of their enraged leader.
Drawing herself up twice her size, Quickstar bore down on the small white IceClan leader, golden eyes pools of hate. "Your telling me what to do?" she hissed, voice dripping with venom. Froststar flattened her eyes, trying not to flinch, and succeeding. "You don't tell my Clan what to do. Oh, no. If you dare step paw on my land, I'll have your pelt skinned and dried on my den rock. If you dare send your pathetic warriors into my land, you will never hear from them again. If you dare come near my borders... I swear not even your badger-tongued MoonClan will be able to spare your life from my claws. My warriors are hunters. Come to us, and your prey. Remember that, Froststar."
With a final lash of her tail, Quickstar left the Gathering. Some say she held a bit of respect to the warrior code, keeping the truce and not attacking Froststar just then. But in actuality, had the IceClan leader uttered a single word, she wouldn't have existed as leader much longer. Quickstar was a killer.
Rumored to have been teaching her warriors to kill, Quickstar was a deadly foe. This was also proved true later.
She didn't care for the warrior code like others. She didn't mind showing her claws for the needs of her Clan.
But Froststar was ambitious. She had wanted to prove to her Clan she was a worthy leader, and she also wanted to be remembered. Unlike most cats, Froststar became leader after her father, the former leader, was killed. She didn't let Wrenfeather, the deputy, take his place out of her own desire for power-yet he was made her own second-in-command after that. Yet when Quickstar threatened her there, she lost the rest of the support from her Clanmates. And she needed to get it back.
The next day, Eaglestar waited by the border to see if Froststar would come by. She did, bringing with half of her cats. EmberClan didn't attack her. They just watched with a shake of their heads as they descended into the valley.
Volestar was also waiting at his border, too. He watched Froststar lead her Clanmates up the mountain and into ShockClan territory. GrassClan didn't attack her. Just watched with pity-filled eyes as the warriors soon lost to MoonClan disappeared over the rocks.
Froststar traveled deep into ShockClan territory, soon coming to the beginning of the snowy peak. Since this mountain was lower, it was just the perfect temperature for her Clan, even if they couldn't reach the exact top. They met no enemies along the way. Yet they were watching.
Just before IceClan was going to leave, Froststar leaped onto a nearby boulder. She held her head high as she announced her voice to her Clanmates. "The peak is ours! IceClan claims this land as our own! From now on, we hunt here! New territory given by MoonClan!" There were yowls of agreement, whether they believed her or not, and the white furred leader was feeling pretty confident until a familiar golden tabby pelt appeared from the cliff above her. Sunlight eyes bore down on the IceClan leader.
"So," Quickstar growled, flexing her claws. "I'll make your death long and painful."
Froststar stepped back, her voice wavering. "This is IceClan territory now! Your trespassing!"
Quickstar faked a look of hurt. "Trespassing? Me?" she mocked, throwing back her head and smirking. "What did I say, maggot-eyed leader? Your pelt will be skinned and hanged on my den rock. Your warriors will never be heard of again from their Clanmates. And not even MoonClan exists on SunClan's bright lands, my little weak she-cat. Three promises I made I plan to keep." She blinked once. That's all it took. ShockClan cats swarmed across the rocks, pounding against the snow and diving from above onto the horrified IceClanners. With a cry, Froststar watched her most loyal warrior, Silverfish, fall victim to a blow from a senior ShockClan warrior. And with a startled look, she realized her warriors weren't just fighting for territory. They were fighting for their lives. Spinning around, she turned wide eyes onto the grinning face of Quickstar.
"No!" howled the IceClan leader. "Stop! Stop them! Your killing my warriors!"
Quickstar narrowed her eyes. "No," she meowed. "Your not saving them."
With a desperate attempt, the white she-cat hurled off the boulder and sank her claws into the wiggling pelt of a tabby. She flung him away, just as Skypaw gave a strangled cry and fell, eyes lifeless, into the snow. Gasping, Froststar leaped into another pair of fighting cats, pulling a gray she-cat off Sandpath and giving the warrior a glance. She wasn't fast enough to save claws tears into his eyes, and the throat-wrenching scream of suffering as the tom fell off the edge of a rock and into more shrieking cats. Froststar was terrified. She hadn't brought her Clan food and more territory. She just brought death.
No. At that point, she turned cold eyes onto the still figure of Quickstar. The IceClan leader didn't believe this was her fault. She now blamed the golden tabby. And at that same moment Froststar realized this, Quickstar knew she had as well. And she smiled.
"I'm going to skin you, wolf-heart." Froststar hissed, stalking forward.
Quickstar stood up, shaking out her pelt. "Must you even try?" she sneered. Being up on the rocky overhang, Quickstar had the height advantage. But Froststar didn't much care at this time.
"I have nine lives. You must only have a few. A leader doesn't live forever. I'll kill you and kill you and kill you... until your legs stop moving and you leave to the horrible skies of SunClan! You stupid she-cat! This is IceClan territory!" With a battle cry, the white leader lunged at Quickstar.
Time seemed to slow down. The ShockClan leader dove forward at the same time. A move well-practiced by the apprentices, only a ShockClan move, replayed in her head. Quickstar's claws moved like wind, slicing Froststar's blue, furious eyes in the same move the IceClan leader had seen done to Sandpath. Screaming, Froststar flung herself away and into the writhing mass of Clan cats, breaking them apart and whipping her head around. ShockClan cats simply stepped back with a shiver in their pelts. IceClan cats stood rigid in horror.
"I can't see! I can't see! I can't see!" howled the agony-filled voice of Froststar. Wrenfeather leaped forward, guiding the she-cat away, followed by the other IceClanners. Quickstar watched with a disgusted look as IceClan left her territory. She had thought they wouldn't return.
Froststar was brought to GrassClan, the closest medicine cats, and kept under watch for almost a moon by Creeklily and Lightpaw. When she could finally return to IceClan, she could barely return to her leader duties without the ability of sight.
Wrenfeather quickly became the new one in charge, but with Froststar still with her lives and title, he couldn't receive his blessing from MoonClan. All he could do was still follow his leader's orders. Day by day, Froststar became more accustomed to her new life of darkness. And a new life of revenge. She ordered IceClan to take the peak, despite Quickstar's threats, and kill any warriors they met along the way. Many were hesitant to do so, but they couldn't disobey their injured leader.
A few days after Froststar's order, IceClan marked Sun Mountain's peak. They met no ShockClan cats, for Quickstar had not been expecting them to return. This got her angered.
For many moons after that, Froststar ordered her cats into battle, never taking part in one herself. She never hunted or trained, or did anything around the camp for her Clan. She simply rotted in her nest. Yet she was a strong cat. Each life was certainly short, but in her condition, longer than it should have been. Being in the dark gave her the skills of persuasive, and she brain-washed her warriors into believing the other peak had to belong to IceClan.
Many warriors died in these battles. Only until Quickstar died, many moons after Frostar's last life, did the Clans decide to follow the warrior code. Still honoring what their former leaders would have wanted, the fighting continued.
And that is how IceClan wanted two peaks.
