Water paw walked out of the apprentices den. She stretched and looked around sitting by the freashkill pile and picked out a vole. Lightheart

Lightheart blinked lazily from his sunbathing patch in front of the warriors den, his pale tabby tail occasionally flicking off the ground. Bored. So bored. So very bored. the only distraction from his thoughts being the growing hunger that was eating at him. Sighing, he gave into temptation and rose to his paws, padding over to the fresh-kill pile and picking out a small piece of prey. Spotting another cat enjoying a meal, he padded over, holding his head high as he took a seat close to the she-cat, giving her a respectful nod as greeting. “Hi, I’m Lightheart,” the small tabby announced, a hint of pride in his tone, “You don’t mind if I sit here, right?” he asked, not bothering to wait for an answer before he took a bite of his prey. Eh, she won't mind.

"Of course not." she smiled. She was normally bored but didn't think much of it.

((Sorry for replying late)) Lightheart nodded, swiping his tongue over his jaw, “ You’re an….” he briefly glanced the she-cat over, “ apprentice, right?” he asked lazily. He figured as long as he was sitting next to the she-cat he could get to know her. He didn’t know that many cats in the clan anyway.

Waterpaw nodded. "And you would be a warrior, right?" She asked. "I am Waterpaw by the way."

“Well then, it’s a pleasure to meet you,” he said, his tone falling mildly flat as he tried to think of something else to say. It had been awhile since he had a conversation without a lot of other cats around, and he found himself fumbling through his thoughts clumsily. “So, who's your a mentor?” he decided on asking, picking at his food with his claw. It was looking rather unappetizing now that he had eaten most of it.

(I think that Thunderstorm is her mentor. I am pretty sure...) Water looked up. "Thunderstorm." She said.

Lightheart tipped his head to the side, “Never heard of him— you two get along?” he asked rather bluntly, though his tone was nonchalant and relaxed. He had gotten along well with his mentor, and didn’t have any reason to suspect that either of his apprentices disliked him, but he had heard that this was not always the case.

"No, but if I become a mentor I will make sure to be a little nicer." She said.

“Pity, but I guess with the shortage of mentor’s we can’t expect to always have a perfect fit,” Lightheart said, then remembered he heard something about Waterbreeze getting an apprentice, “you got the ex-deathclanner, right?” he questioned, not really waiting for an answer, “she’ll be handful— I’m sure you’ll manage though,” the pale tabby continued. In truth, he didn’t really trust the newbie, even though he had yet to meet her— but as long as she wasn’t causing any problems and was being useful to her adopted clan he wouldn’t question her loyalty.

"Well, I am going to do my best." She sighed. "I am going to become friends just as much as I am going to teach the apprentice. That might help. Oh, congratulations on getting another apprentice. I guess that I am lucky that I only have one apprentice. I have no clue how you will manage two." She added.

“Actually, it’s a lot easier having two apprenticed than I expected it to be,” Lightheart admitted. Sure, the two little rascals kept him on his toes, but he had such a good time looking after them that he hardly noticed the time fly by. “As long as you’re apprentice from falling into the river, I’m sure you’ll do fine,” the young warrior said. He neglected going near the river for this very reason— well, the fact that he loathed water and mud might have also played a part, but fishing an apprentice out of the river was defiantly a task he didn’t want to do. Though he did suppose he’d have to teach Nightpaw and Quailpaw to fish eventually…

Waterbreeze laughed. "So I can't hunt in the river with them?" She asked jokingly. "Just leave it to apprentices to find the funniest way to keep you on your toes." She said with a sigh.

Lightheart chuckled a bit, “Of course— though Quailpaw’s much easier to manage. Did you know Nightpaw showed up to her first day of training with a broken leg? And she’s still a pawfull— makes me fell old,” the young warrior said, probably dramatizing a bit. But, of course, that was just the way he was. He did worry about Nightpaw though, she had a good heart, but might have been a bit more of an adrenaline addict than was physically safe.

Waterbreeze laughed. "How did you deal with the broken leg?" She asked suddenly curious.
