MAPLEFROST OF ICECLAN

Another pair of kits were ready to take the big leap into apprenticeship. Maplefrost had struggled a bit with finding a second available mentor; it seemed that some of the Clan's warriors were getting a bit lazy. And taking one of the two under his own wing wasn't really an option. Despite his retirement, the calico tom had Spiderpaw. He didn't think he could handle another youngster.

Luckily, somebody has stepped up that morning, so the crisis was successfully averted. The elder climbed onto his usual announcement perch to summon IceClan and spoke the familiar words.

"By naming these apprentices, we show that IceClan will survive and remain strong…

Duskkit! From now on, you will be known as Duskpaw. Dawnbriar, you are ready for an apprentice and shall train him.

Fallenkit! From now on, you will be known as Fallenpaw. Spottedheart, you are ready for an apprentice and shall train her."

Dawnbriar smiled as maplefrost anounced that she had her little brother as an apprentice. She spotted the little apprentice in the crowd and padded up to him. "I know you'll be an amazing apprentice, little bro, but I hope can get used to getting up early," she said with a purr of amusement.

[Lightheart]

“Duskpaw! Fallenpaw!” Lightheart cheered with the rest of the crowd, his green eyes gleaming with pride— both for Dawnbriar and Spottedheart, his former mentor. She’ll make an amazing mentor, the young warrior though with an approving nod, watching the blue-eyed tabby and her apprentice touch noses.

[Duskrise]

The newly named Duskpaw approached his new mentor with a slight smile on his face. "Aw, don't worry about little old me!" He mewed. "I wake up at an unholy hour every morning anyways." He reassured her.

[Spottedheart]

"Fallenpaw, I promise to train you to honor our clan, wherever you are." He said solemnly, touching his nose to her nose.
He couldn't believe how fast his last apprentice had moved on and was excited to train another apprentice.
