MAPLEFROST OF ICECLAN "IceClan! A newcomer has joined our ranks. Razor, from now on, you shall be known as Thornpaw. Waterbreeze is ready for an apprentice and will train you in our ways."
Maplefrost stepped back from the announcement ledge and gazed sightlessly down upon the former DeathClanner. Only time would tell whether she had truly changed… but he hoped that her wish to join IceClan had been genuine. There was no place here for liars or rats. Water recess nodded. "Training starts tomorrow." She said in a very polite and cheerful voice.

Razor stood, gazing up at the cat with an unflinching gaze. Though, her fur prickled at the distrust that flashed in Maplefrost's eyes. She knew why. Being a former DeathClanner, she carried the weight of negative feelings on her shoulders from every cat. DeathClan cats were killers. There was no way to convince them otherwise. I almost miss it. Razor-or, now Thornpaw-thought for only a sliver of a moment. But then she remembered what it was like. Denless, hungry, ungroomed. Alone and always doubting if another cat was really your ally. Always glancing behind you. She hated it. Yet it was the little things-hunting for yourself, surviving with only your skills to depend on, knowing you would grow up strong and feared... that made it somewhat durable.
If only hunger and fear hadn't effected her so much. It had driven her to IceClan... a place they didn't feel she belonged in. Yet they had let her in. That must mean something, right? Maybe it just means IceClan is desperate for warriors. Thornpaw growled, now turning to the warrior who was waiting patiently nearby. Her new mentor.... A bit of pride swelled up in her chest, but she did her best not to show it. DeathClan doesn't have mentors... but now I do.
Thornpaw shook her head and trotted over, listening to Waterbreeze briefly before going on to herself. I'm not DeathClan anymore. I'm an IceClan apprentice. I better start acting like one... or they'll rip my pelt to shreds.
At this, she stifled a snicker. Let them try....

Waterbreeze frowned. "Thornpaw.," she said. She really needed her apprentice to understand. "I will not ever judge you for who. You used to be. That doesn't matter to me, what does matter is who you are inside. In your heart." She added after thinking for a while. Her blue eyes held no mistrust. Instead they were full of kindness. One that would prove her word on giving Thornpaw a second chance. "So, just remember that." She said. Life wasn't about your past only. Second chances were an important step for her before mistrust. "I will not hurt you if you try to be a better car than a deathclan cat." She said. Deathclan. She didn't like that clan at all. She just had a feeling that they were an enemy at heart. She shook her head. She always thought on the bright side. At this time it would be that Thornpaw is no longer a member of Deathcln. She had to give the apprentice a second chance.

Thornpaw was confused by the kindness in her eyes. Didn't she recall DeathClan being violent killers, and feared by the four Clans for their ways and actions? It's just for show. Thornpaw glanced around at the clearing with narrowed, wary eyes. She didn't believe Waterbreeze at all. It had to be just a false sense of security. Just a way to get Thornpaw to let her guard down.... Lucky me.
