Willowpaw sighed, just outside the apprentice den. She fumbled with her paws and flicked her tail. She was felt so awkward and lonely.. She needed a friend. What is wrong with me? Did I do something wrong? Did I say something wrong? But I barely said anything! She stared at the ground. Her mother had died and her sister was a warrior and had a mate. Most of the time she was lonely. Maybe it is better off like this...

Thornpaw stepped out of the den, giving her silver fur a shake to clear any lingering moments in the nightmare. Yet she nearly bumped into another apprentice, one she hadn't met before, and her sour mood grew a bit puzzled. Most of the apprentices had a friend or two to socialize with, but this one appeared alone. What in the name of DeathClan is wrong with this one?
Peering around to face the she-cat, Thornpaw snorted. "Boo." she muttered, unenthusiasticly.

"Oh, hello there." Willowpaw snapped away from her thoughts. This apprentice didn't seem to be in a very good mood, but she would give her a chance. "I'm Willowpaw, you probably don't know me because I am a nobody... mind telling me who you are?" She asked, flicking her tail. Her tortoiseshell pelt reflected off the sun, and her blue sapphire eyes glinted in the slightest way.

Thornpaw liked this cat. She seemed pretty bold. When she had found Willowpaw all alone and lost in thought, she quickly thought the fellow apprentice would be timid and perhaps have a stutter in her voice. But when she turned to her, eyes friendly with not a sense of fear, Thornpaw instantly gave her a little bit more respect than before. Not that she let it show.
"Thornpaw," she growled, sounding as if she were annoyed even though she took a seat beside Willowpaw. "You probably don't know me. I'm pretty new... and maybe not the best cat to hear about."
She doesn't need to know about my birth Clan until she brings it up herself. she thought.

Willowpaw flicked her tail in slight amusement. She could sense that this cat was trying to sound annoyed, the way her growl was pitched. "How long have you been an apprentice?" She asked, flicking her ears to the shecat.

Thornpaw shrugged, "A few days or so. Nothing big." She glanced at Willowpaw out of the corner of her eye, tail curling around her paws. "What about you? Almost a warrior, or whatever it is you get to become?"

"Yeah, I am going to take my assessment to become a warrior." Willowpaw answered, slightly proud. "You are training to become a warrior, correct me if I am wrong?" She asked, flicking her ears.

Thornpaw nodded. "Though, I don't know if I'll get there anytime soon." she grumbled, her ear twitching in irritation. Clan rules were stupid. She didn't like having to wait so long just to become a warrior, whatever privileges that ensured. In DeathClan, you were a cat. And a cat did whatever it wanted. There were so many rules, and codes, and expectations it was overwhelming.
Maybe joining for food and protection was a bad idea.
But at least Thornpaw was getting a little bit more social. And she had a full belly and a warm nest, mind it wasn't in a tree like she would have preferred.
"So... what do you want your warrior name to be?"

"I want my warrior name to be Willowwind." She answered, flicking her tail back and forth. She loved how the name sounded, and really hoped she got it. Willowwind... She said to just herself. "What name do you want to accomplish?" She asked, staring at the apprentice.

"Eh, something scary and cool. Like Thornfang, or Thornshadow, or maybe...." Thornblood or Thornleaf... more for Thornleaf. She didn't say those two, for the first sounded a bit too much and the second was nothing scary or anything like her at all.
