@drought
Joy smiled as he loomed over the riverbank that rushed with sun warmed water. The bitter cold from the season of winter had only left dead dead, barren trees. The skeletal branches reached out and raked the pale sky brutally, almost an unpleasant sight. A decent amount of trees still had survived but they were farther away from the river.
I stepped into the water and gave a litter shiver. It definitely wasn't as hot the water you'd get from the upwalkers' rain boxes, but it would suffice. I was a wild cat now, have been for a while, but the rain boxes were nicer. I splashed up water playfully, laughing as fish darted away from swimming legs. I looked up nonchalantly as I heard a rustle in the undergrowth.
"Hi there!" I meowed in a friendly voice, giving no tensity to my body as I waited for a new creature to come out.

DROUGHT OF DEATHCLAN Drought had not anticipated meeting somebody here.
The leader was practically caked in blood from head to toe, so he'd gone to the river to clean up a bit. DeathClan had been so empty recently that he figured he wouldn't run into anybody on the way. That would lead to awkward questions.
As it turned out, his plan had been foiled by none other than a creature that looked like an aquatic bumblebee. Figuring he'd play it off as normal, he just nodded a casual greeting as he padded over to the water's edge and dipped his paws in. A few diluted tendrils of crimson started flowing lazily downriver towards Joy.

I watched as a rather crimson cat stepped out of the undergrowth. I watched curiously, smile not dropping as he stepped into the water. The water slowly turned a dark pink, flowing past my chest as the river carried the substance away.
"Well, that crosses out the possibility of you being aggressively ginger." I cocked my head as I watched the paws return to their normal fur color. I inspected quietly, eerie smile still on my face. Some would call it creepy; I just called it positive encouragement from afar and without actually telling them I was encouraging them.
"The sun is quite bright and warm today. I like the sun and the moon and... I like mostly everything." I was mostly a severe case of being naive, but I truly did like everything. Upwalkers, cats, seasons, animals... the list goes on. It'd make you wonder how I catch my meals.

DROUGHT OF DEATHCLAN Strangely enough, Joy remained calm. This was DeathClan… but many would still be shocked by their leader looking like a red-and-black cow. Then there were those who had seen stranger things, or had gone slightly off the deep end and could care less. Drought suspected that this youngling was among the latter group.
Stepping further into the stream, he let the water ripple past for a few moments. The American Shorthair already knew his fur would be stained pale pink for a few days, which was faintly annoying, but it would only get worse if he didn't rinse off now.
"That's an interesting way of putting it. I've never seen a scarlet cat before, though," Drought commented idly. "I suppose you're new here? Haven't seen you before." It was a rather roundabout way of asking for a name, but usually it got the job done. WORDS: 145 || WRITTEN FOR: Joy NOTES - Hooray for 1,800 posts. template by Margie @ Adoxography v2
