Lickkit stepped into the medicine den, his trademark grin missing for once. He'd gotten himself into a bit of a predicament. As the name would suggest, the orange tom liked to examine new things by tasting them… and, well, nobody had told him that roses were sharp.
A trickle of blood dripped from his chin to the dusty ground as he sat down, pouting. The Clan's healers would make fun of him for sure. Morningflare Gullcry

(Sorry for late reply)
Gullcry pricked his ears at the scent of blood. Another patient. He stepped out from the back of the den where he was counting herbs for the tenth time and looked down. A kit?
"What happened?" He asked confusedly. The pale ginger feline looked a little like the cats he used to see in his kithood. They were called goats or something like that. Whatever they were, the blood dripping from his chin looked like a beard to Gullcry.
As he finished speaking, the young longhair stepped to go and get some cobwebs, waiting for Lickkit to respond.

He was half-relieved and half-embarrassed when Gullcry appeared. "I, uh," Lickkit started, and the scarlet dribble seized the opportunity to leak from his jaws even more. He swallowed while wrinkling his nose at the coppery taste. "I think I hurt my tongue."
Hesitant, the kitten opened his mouth to show the black cat - and sure enough, there were several shallow scratches from the thorns. Just enough to sting and cause a mess. Everyone knew kits tended to get tangled up with thorns at some point during their nursery days, and Lick was no exception. His exploration of the little prickers just left him with somewhat more unique results.

Gullcry looked at him awkwardly, "Well I can see that." He twitched his tiny pink nose as Lickkit opened his mouth. The young forest cat examined the cuts on the kit's tongue and smiled when he saw that they were only a few scratches and nothing serious. He didn't fancy tearing a cats tongue out.
"This will taste disgusting." He warned the kitten before using a small cobweb to wipe some blood out of his mouth. He knew that he wouldn't be able to just leave them there, although he would be amused if he saw a cat walking around with soggy webs all over the inside of there mouths, Gullcry wiped any remaining web off and searched for some goldenrod.
(Random question but what photo editor do you use?)

The fact that he wasn't being mocked outright made Lick perk up, at least a bit. He obediently sat still while the medicine cat took a look at the marks left by the thorns. Honestly, it could've been much more severe, but the unfamiliar sensation of pain was enough to make the kitten compliant.
Before he could protest, he ended up with a mouthful of spiderwebs. The American Shorthair spent a few moments squirming - he could care less about the taste, but the texture was gross. Lickkit was relieved when Gullcry finally removed the thin strands.
"Eww," he remarked belatedly. "Is the other stuff gonna be that bad?" (It's a bit of a process since I don't have Photoshop. First I use Imgur to upload and do basic contrast/brightness/etc tweaking, and add a filter if desired. Then I go to this site to round off the corners and add text. Since that site messes up quality if you actually save it, I copy the finished product and re-upload to Imgur. It'd be a lot easier if I had a program for all that, haha.)

"Depends on opinion I guess." He managed to find some after rummaging through the herbs that always seemed to find themselves in a large pile, no matter how many times he organised them. The fluffy tom turned back to Lickkit and thought for a few seconds, "You know what, you can chew this. It seems creepy if I chew somet then put it in your mouth." He took the plant and put it near Lickkit's paws. "Just hold it on the scratches for a while considering you can't really walk everywhere with it dripping down your face."

Ironically enough, Lickkit wasn't a fan of other cats' saliva. He especially disliked being groomed, whether it be by his mother or one of the other queens. The kitten supposed Gullcry's decision was for the best… even if he wasn't so sure about munching on this mystery herb.
He licked up the plant without another word and promptly wrinkled his nose. It tasted pretty bad. While he sat there with the green paste on his tongue, Lick briefly pondered whether there were any herbs that weren't disgusting. Surely there had to be some. Either way, he was immensely glad that cats ate meat.
The orange cat eventually gave the healer a questioning glance, as if to say, can I spit it out now?

Gullcry chuckled a little. He could tell that Lickkit didn't like the taste of the herb. He wasn't surprised. The moggy nodded, assuming why the pale ginger kit had given him a questioning glance. "Gross?" He asked rhetorically, expecting a dirty look rather than an answer. He waved his long tail before purring, "You can leave now if you want." He continued, "Just it might hurt a little when you eat and drink and stuff."

Lick wasted no time in spitting out the remaining bits of herb. "That was awful," he stated, nose wrinkled, once he was fairly sure he'd gotten most of it out of his mouth. At least the taste had thoroughly distracted him from the stinging pain. It was a bit better now, though it'd probably be a while before the injury was healed.
He got to his paws and trotted quickly out of the medicine den as soon as Gullcry dismissed him. CloudClan only knew how many other herbs he might have to chew if he stuck around!
