Duskpaw sat in his nest. It was insanely early in the morning. He was laying down with his head raised far above the heads of the sleeping apprentices. He spotted someone familiar. Well.... Almost. He was bigger. He recalled the tom as Silverkit, although as an apprentice.... He was Silverpaw now. Another ceremony he'd somehow missed. He wondered how he kept missing them all.
He debated on whether to approach Silverpaw. 'Maybe I should wait until morning?' He pondered. He stared at Silverpaw, as if that would help him make a decision.

Even if saving you sends me to HEAVEN  SIlverpaw's eyes met with a familiar face for a moemnt. It was an old friend, not slightly bigger than Silverpaw and slightly different looking. Nevertheless, it was unmistakably Duskpaw.
The other cat stared at Silverpaw for a while and Silverpaw shifted under the gaze. "Um," He said reluctantly. "Can I help you...?" He furrowed his brows and looked back at Duskpaw before looking away and pretending to be preoccupied with his "uncomfortable" nest...

Duskpaw frowned.
His head tilted to the side. "Oh. Sorry... Did I wake you?" He asked softly. He figured speaking in his usual giddy manner might freak out the other apprentice. For some reason... Silverpaw seemed more timid or something than he remembered. He remembered the game they played....
He definitely remembered Silverpaw being less shy as a kit. Or maybe it was just because it was early in the morning. Duskpaw wondered if it had anything to do with the fact that the sun hadn't even risen yet. The sky was lighter, yes.... But still the sun hadn't even started to rise.

Even if saving you sends me to HEAVEN Under the new flickering gaze of Duskpaw, Silverpaw allowed himself to lighten up a but and managed a smiled. "Hey," he said. "Your Duskpaw right? We used to play together when we were kits." He commented coolly. "How have you been since then?" He asked smiling now. So this was going to be okay. Silverpaw was going to have fun with Duskpaw. He didn't need to be nervous.

Duskpaw smiled slightly.
Still being somewhat cautious, just in case Silverpaw clammed up or something. Still.... The other tom was smiling now. That was good. It meant he was a bit more comfortable now, right? He nodded, the smile still on his face. "Yeah, we did." He replied brightly. "And I've just been around... Y'know... Training, meeting new cats in the clan..." He decided it might be best not to mention the other apprentice he'd met.
He wasn't sure how Silverpaw would take it.

Even if saving you sends me to HEAVEN Silverpaw nodded to what Duskpaw had said. He noticed that Duskpaw was being very conscious with Silverpaw. SIlverpaw didn't mind too much, but he would make sure to lighten the tone too. He looked at the other cat for a moment. Duskpaw, older than Silverpaw, looked as if he could become a warrior any day. The cat was broader in the shoulders and bigger in size. "So," Silverpaw asked lightly. "Are you becoming a warrior soon? You look like you could be one."
Silverpaw was smaller, but he knew his warrior times would come. He needed to focus on the present anyways. And as the early sun rose and its light stretched across the ground, Silverpaw knew he was going to be called to training soon enough. Though it felt good to just lay in his nest, so he made no effort to move.

It seemed like Silverpaw was feeling less awkward around Duskpaw.
'Good... I don't want a repeat of that... Encounter.' He thought, recalling his meeting with Fallowpaw. That encounter had gone... Not the best. Still, this time he had Silverpaw as a previous acquaintance. Something to work off of, no matter how tiny or insignificant. Or hazy in memory. Then Silverpaw's words registered in his brain. He frowned and looked at Silverpaw, head to tail. Then he looked over his shoulder at himself.
"Huh." He mewed quietly. He definitely remembered a time when Silverpaw was bigger. But somehow... Here they were... Duskpaw was about to be a warrior and Silverpaw looked like he still had a majority of his training ahead of him. Duskpaw could've sworn they closer in age. Perhaps Silverpaw was just really big as a kit.
His eyes returned back to Silverpaw. "Yeah. I think I heard my mentor mentioning my final assessment being soon." He replied.

Even if saving you sends me to HEAVEN Silverpaw looked slightly up at the other cat as he got to his feet. He was pretty sure, he had wasted enough time doing nothing. SIlverpaw was pretty sure he was just as old as Duskpaw. He knew he was, but his mentor was busy with some other stuff (that Horizonshadow was not mentioning the the apprentice) which made Silverpaw's training go by so painfully slow. "That's exciting!" Silverpaw smiled. "I certainly cant wait for my own time! Know what you want your warrior name to be?"

Duskpaw pondered the question.
He remembered practically the same question being asked to him by the deputy, when he'd been newly apprenticed. He hadn't had an answer then. He still didn't have one. He just hadn't exactly thought about it, too busy staring at the sky, taking strolls, meeting new cats....
Honestly, he was excited to become a warrior. To get his name. Although, he'd never put any thought into what his warrior name would be. He supposed perhaps he wanted it to be a surprise. He shrugged at Silverpaw. "I'm sure you'll be a warrior soon, Silverpaw! And honestly? Not a clue." He answered honestly.

Even if saving you sends me to HEAVEN "Alright," Silverpaw replied to Duskpaw. "Fair enough." It was true though, picking a warrior name was hard. The decision was not completely in his arms though, of course that was up to the leader and perhaps deputy, but still, Silverpaw couldn't help but thing about it sometimes. He thought it was a cool concept to the kind of close to his warrior ship. He was going to get there...soon.
"So," Silverpaw asked getting abut bored with just talking. "What to do something?" He wasn't too good at idle chatter and all. Not when he could be practicing something or hunting something. Perhaps they could go out into the territory?

Duskpaw was rather glad Silverpaw didn't press.
Duskpaw didn't exactly want to be pressed and forced to be imaginative. He worried it might come out strange. Like Duskdusk. That would've been horribly embarrassing. Thank Cloudclan Silverpaw let it go and was changing the subject.
He pondered Silverpaw's suggestion to go and do something. Typically he simply took strolls. He greatly enjoyed simply going out into the territory and admiring the landscape, no matter how many times he'd already seen it. However, he wasn't sure if that was Silverpaw's thing. Oh well. He'd have to ask. "What would you have in mind? I usually go out on walks."

Even if saving you sends me to HEAVEN "Hmmmm," Silverpaw mused.The whole walking idea didn't seem so bad to him. It was nice outside and the sky was a brilliant blue. Nope, the walking didn't seem so bad at all. He never stopped long enough to just walk and relax. Maybe he should start. Yes. he should.
"Alright," He said to Duskpaw. "I like the idea of slowing down for a while to just walk and see what there is to see. I'll join you."

Duskpaw smiled and stood up.
"Then what are we waiting for?" His tail swished back and forth in excitement. He was happy Silverpaw was joining him. Things were always more fun when you weren't alone. The more the merrier, right? Of course, there was too many cats spoil the hunt... But he was pretty sure two cats were fine.
He edged near the entrance, getting ready to bound out and go on another stroll. Except this time, with another cat.
