Kovu's head was bent, his large body standing up and his green eyes looking straight ahead at the reflection in the water. What have I become? he asked himself, then shook his pelt and threw a rock in the water, making the reflection shiver and disappear. He closed his eyes and bent down, lapping the water and enjoying the cool taste of it going down his throat. Once his thirst was quenched, he turned around and saw something flash past his right eye. It may or may not have been a wolf. "Who's there?" he asked, teeth bared, head up, eyes dangerous.

i had been out hunting on my pack's territory border, when i spotted a stray wolf. i was annoyed that someone was on my territory, i wanted to report it to an alpha, but i wasn't going to ruin my chance of being superior. so i had stealthily stalked behind the other wolf, which turned out to be a male. he had just finished getting a drink, and turned around. so i quickly sprinted behind a big rock.

i blinked. "who's there?" he had suspiciously asked. i loomed out of the dark, and in a hostile voice i replied, "the question is, who are you? and why are you on my packs territory?"

Kovu's head swivelled towards the noise. "I am Kovu." he replied with a smirk, then took a step back and sniffed the air to make sure that he was on the other side of the border. "And now I'm not on your pack's territory. Now, answer my question. Who are you?" He sat down and the breeze ruffled his fur, cooling him. He smirked once more, looking over at the black femme.

<sub>a deep growl started in my throat. i didn't like the way he was disrespecting me. i unsheathed my long claws and dug them into the earth, trying to hold myself from attacking him. "well kovu." i lingered on his name. "well you better be glad you aren't on my packs territory, or i could have them all attack you in a minute." i snarled. i dug the claws in deeper. i couldn''t loose it. not now. not yet. "my name is void, the beta female of the shadow dwellers pack. and i can see, that you are a lone wolf, just begging for a pack to come and kill you. and oh thy kovu, trust me, it will happen, if you keep trespassing pack territories." 

i tore my claws from the ground, and stepped out of the shadows, revealing my scarred self. i narrowed my yellow optics, studying the male.</sub>

Kovu stood up to his tallest, then unsheathed his own claws. His lips trembled as he almost pulled them back into a snarl. "Void, I think you should be glad I'm not attacking you." he said, biting down the urge to spring and kill.
