Emerald sat upon her fence, looking off into the different housefolk gardens and even the alley separating her home from another. She certainly enjoyed prancing around both areas-finding little mice to chase without any hunting skills of searching for new faces among the flower beds. And just this evening, she spotted someone. Someone she hadn't met before. "I haven't met you before." she meowed to the cat, leaping down from her perch and into the alley. The cat was currently sitting on the fence across from hers, and she at first though it was her sister, Jade. But Jade was farther down the streets, past many twists and turns that took awhile to navigate. And Jade never liked leaving her garden, which left the adventure to Emerald. So, this face was new. And she certainly wanted to make a friend. "Hello there! I'm Emerald, but I take Emmy as a nickname usually."

Simon nearly lost her footing on the fence when this cat named Emerald "Oh, Hi there!" She mewed, her bright gold eyes friendly "I'm Simon, and I just became a Kittypet a few days ago. I'm kinda new." She gave her fluffy gray chest fur a couple of licks, thinking about what to say next. "Do you just live right down the walkway?"

The word 'kittypet' was a bit foreign to Emerald, but she assumed it was another name for a housecat. With a smile, she nodded and gestured to her garden. "I live there," she told Simon. She turned back, and then pointed to the garden behind the housecat. "Did your housefolk just move here, or were you adopted? I was raise as a housecat my whole life, so... I'm not too familiar with the adoption process. But I heard its pretty scary at the Pound... or wherever they keep cats."

Simon looked at Emerald, a place where they keep cats? That sounded pretty bad. "I wasn't taken to the Pound... My Housefolk took me in when they found me at their porch, trying to get away from the rain." She tried not to shiver at the time when she got lost from her little sister. A spark of hope went off inside Simon "Hey, have you seen a she-cat anywhere? She is cream colored with a stripe of orange on her back."

"Oh, so you were a loner. That's rough." Emerald meowed, and then considered the description of the cat with a puzzled look. "Hmm... uh, what's her name? I could ask around. I haven't seen her, but I like to walk all around town so I'll keep an eye open for her."

"Her name is Fillini." Simon mewed "She is my sister, and we got separated when we tried to cross the road." Her ears drooped "I shouldn't get my hopes up though, she is probably dead. Fillini was the tiniest cat I had ever seen, and I don't know how she could survive on her own."

Emerald gave a small shrug of her shoulders. "I wouldn't give up hope yet. I mean, after I was sold by my mother's housefolk, I didn't think I would ever see my sisters again. But then I find out Jade is only half way across town. So one sister found on my end." she meowed. "And if we look around, we'll find Fillini. Doesn't matter if she's small or big, the town is dangerous but it has its values. Like kind housecats here and there. Or housefolk. I'm sure someone helped her out."

"Yeah... Hopefully." Simon shook her head, trying to clear her head of her lost baby sister. "Anyways, enough about that. You're probably right anyways." She flicked a labybug off her muzzle with her small gray paw as she tried to think of something else "You said you also had a sister, right? Is she nice?"

Emerald nodded with a smile at the thought of her own sister. "Yep. Jade is actually nice for a rich housecat, but she doesn't like to leave her backyard. So that leaves me with the adventure all the way there." she purred.

Simon felt better on the more positive topic "That's nice, maybe I could go with you to see her sometime." She mewed "I don't really know anyone yet, it would be good to get to know a bit about some other cats."

"You should-Jade loves meeting strangers. She practically wants a sign on her fence that welcomes them all." Emerald purred, and then she noticed another cat was nearby. She leaped up onto the fence and gave the unfamiliar cat a smile. "Hey, don't just sit there all alone! Come talk!" After a moment, she turned back to Simon. "You don't mind some company, do you, Simon? And plus, this stranger is our neighbor."

Simon flicked her ears, she didn't even notice the other cat. "No, not really." She meowed licking a paw and drawing it over her ear "She's fine to join." This Jade sounds friendly, I should meet her some time. Simon wanted to make new friends, mostly to see if any of them had seen her sister.

Emerald shrugged after a few moments of silence, and hopped back down beside Simon. If the cat wanted to join, they could at any time. But for now she would chat with her friend. "So, have you been to the park? Or have you tried catnip before?" she asked.
