Looking for Friends.

[Maplekit]

Maplekit yawned as she cracked her eyes open, squinting as the sunlight flooded into the nursery. She always complained about going to bed at night, but she hates waking up in the morning. She stood up and stretched, her white pelt was fluffy like every kit's coat was. She walked out of the nursery, though she did so a bit shyly. She had only been outside a few times and she was naturally shy by nature.

Ripplekit's ear began to twitch as he flickered his eyes
open. Sunlight flooded into the Nursery and he forced
himself awake. The small tom yawned and stretched his legs, gazing around the nursery until his eyes fell on a very tiny kitten.

The white kit walked out of the Nursery,
and Ripplekit debated following her, since he hadn't
made many friend's yet. He slowly followed her out,
but when he tried to speak a lump formed in his
throat. Taking a deep breath, Ripplekit walked beside
the younger kitten.

"Hey... Did you just wake up too?"

Ashkit had finally gotten to the idea to get up whenever she woke up. It would be the only way to keep her from sleeping in late. The sleep didn't change her mind, and she forced herself out of the nursery. The ginger she-kit was laying close to the nursery but on the outside of it near the entrance. She laid there in the sunlight, purring and she could not be happier. All the previous mornings were cold and tiring. Today was different.

However, Ashkit did fall asleep while basking in the sun for a little bit, and she managed to wake up not long after falling asleep. "I love the sun...~" she mewed to herself and forced herself to sit up. By that time, another kit had joined her outside. She turned her head to the she-kit and blinked her baby blue eyes at her. A small smile appeared on her face and her ginger fur fluffed up.

"Good... morning." she mewed and looked to the sun. Her blue gaze quickly shifted back to the kit and she laughed. "Aye.. The sun isn't nice to look at.. but it feels nice to bask in the sunlight." Ashkit was still delaying the introduction. Boy, did she have any manners. Her black ears perked up with curiosity and she stared at Maplekit. "Oh... That's right.. Hm... I'm.... Ash..? Yes! I'm Ashkit. Nice to meet you."

Maplekit looked up at the two older kits with wide brown eyes, this was the first time that she had actually interacted with kits that were actually around her age. She sat down and wrapped her tiny tail around her paws."My name is Maplekit."She said as she glanced around."Everything is so big! I don't think that I could even climb any of these rocks!"She muttered as she lept to her paws. She bounded over to one of the rocky cliffs and looked up at it, her tail flicking excitedly."I wanna try and climb up it!"She announced, though she had no idea where she would start climbing. Everything was so big and new to her.

Her smile grew bigger as she watched Maplekit sit down and introduce herself. Maplekit... That was a sweet name. Ashkit couldn't help but giggle slightly to herself. Maplekit reminded her of herself when she first opened her eyes. Everything was still big to Ashkit, though. She enjoyed Maplekit's excitement and thought she would join in as well. The ginger she-kit pounced on a spot near Maplekit on the ground and started to act playful. "We are still small but we could try~ We are tiny but we are mighty!" Ashkit started to run off with Maplekit and she made a U turn back to the other kit. "Hey, what's your name?" She gestured toward Maplekit and the rocky cliffs nearby. "Come on! It'll be fun."

Maplekit giggled at Ashkit's words, she was a funny kit. She watched as she turned around to the older and bigger tom kit. The white she-kit followed after the older kit. She blinked her eyes, one of which was surrounded by a circular patch of maple brown fur. It was the only other color on her snow white fur. She would probably be a very pretty she-cat one day."Look! He's eyes are so cool, they are two completely different eyes. You have such cool eyes!"She squealed in excitement. That was a good thing about being so young, everything was so new and exciting.

The young tom sat silently and listened to the two kittens
introduce themselves. He smiled slightly in response to the
energy the two seemed to posses.


'Maplekit and Ashkit... They seem really nice! Maybe I should
leave the two of them be. They seem to be enjoying each
other's company...'


He began to retreat back into the Nursery, but realized that he
had been asked his name. He turned to Ashkit, opening his
mouth to introduce himself, but Maplekit complemented him
on his eyes and the young tom began to stammer, shifting his
paws on the ground in embarrassment.


"Ha, thanks... I don't find my eyes very appealing but that's very
nice of you! He mewed nervously, and then nodded at
the two. "My name's... Ripplekit. And... What exactly are
we trying to do?" He asked the two. He hadn't been listening to
their conversation because he was busy in his own thoughts.

Ripplekit was clearly older than Maplekit and was ready to be an apprentice soon. That must be an excited feeling."Don't be nervous! I love your eyes!"She purred as she pointed her tail towards the pile of rocks near the edge of the camp."I'm gonna climb it! I'm gonna make it all the way to the top and then they will make me an apprentice!"She said happily, her young brain not really registering how unrealistic to think that they would make her apprentice just for climbing a rock pile. She was just a kit after all and didn't really understand much anyway.

Her light blue eyes sparkled bright with so much excitement and energy. Maplekit piped up about the tom's multi-colored eyes. Her fluffy, ginger tail flicked and she stared at Ripplekit's eyes. Her smile turned into a frown, and she glanced back at her right hindleg. I'm jealous... Ripplekit's eyes are so unique and that brown patch on Maplekit's eye is the only other color on her white fur. Ashkit wondered if her black hindleg and ears made her look unique... or, even pretty. The she-kit shook it off and smiled at Ripplekit, flicking her tail again.

"I like them as well, Ripplekit. In some way, they seem to compliment your fur." Her blue gaze shifted back onto Maplekit as the kit explained what they were going to do. Ashkit giggled and jumped up to the pile of rocks, looking up at them with a challenging look in her eyes. Her black ears twitched, and she turned to the other kits. "Let's all climb these rocks, and we'll become apprentices! Together~"

Maplekit nodded, looking at Ripplekit."He's already almost 6 moons old though, he'll be an apprentice soon anyone. That's so unfair! When you're an apprentice you have to promise that you'll show us your hunting movies!"The white kit said happily as she bounded over to the rocks. They looked pretty high and some of the paw holds were too high to reach. She crouched down into a jumping position, wiggling her bottom before she lept. She barely made it to the first rock, but grinned happily."Did you see that? Treeclan couldn't jump like that!"She said with a laugh, jumping up and down on the rock.

Ripplekit laughed at the two as they climbed around on the rocks. He
studied them for a moment, smiling as he began to scramble up the rocks
behind them.

"It's flattering you like my eyes," He admitted, stopping to catch himself
from slipping on one of the rocks, "but I must admit you guys have really cool
pelts! Mine is totally white, while your pelts are unique!"

As he tried to climb farther, he stopped when he heard Maplekit mention his age. He
began to frown as he realized he would soon leave the Nursery. Of course, Ripplekit
was super excited that he was so close to being an apprentice, but he had barely made
any friends, although he hoped Ashkit and Maplekit would consider him theirs.

Ashkit frowned and bounded over towards Maplekit, batting at her ears playfully. "Thanks a lot for killing the mood, Maplekit! Haha~" It would be okay, although, Ashkit wished Ripplekit didn't have to leave so soon. They just met, and they were all having such a good time. I bet he has plenty of friends, anyway.. It won't hurt him. Now, that she thought about it, she felt like saying something but it would also add more pressure onto Ripplekit and the good vibe they were all having.

Maplekit said that he should show them hunting moves when he became an apprentice. That's if he even remembered them. Ashkit shrugged her shoulders and started to climb the rocks. She started on one and hesitated as her kitten fat was holding her down a bit. The she-kit growled and forced herself up with all the strength she could. Once she got up there, she almost tumbled and slipped off the rock. Ashkit backed away from the edge and sighed with relief.

"What I know for sure is that we'll all make great warriors someday. I just know it. I can feel it in my ginger fur!" Ashkit purred when Maplekit jumped onto a rock and managed to pull herself up. She nodded her small head and flicked her tail. "Yes! That's the warrior spirit! Let us continue on with our tails held high." Ashkit studied the next rock she would attempt to climb or jump on.

"but I must admit you guys have really cool pelts! Mine is totally white, while your pelts are unique!" Her blue eyes glanced back at Ripplekit and she blushed underneath her fur. "T-Thanks..."

[So I think according to the Rockclan activity check a kit needs 25 posts to become an apprentice, but I remember it being 50 before? Is that just a Rockclan rule?]

Ripplekit nodded at Ashkit, grinning widely. "I could totally
teach you guys moves, but I'm sure you'll be apprentices
very shortly after me, so we can teach each other moves
together!" He mewed gleefully, catching up to the other two.

"We'll be the greatest warriors Rockclan has ever seen! Noble
warriors!" He declared, puffing out his chest. Skillful hunters!
He growled playfully, pouncing onto a nearby rock as if hunting for
prey. "Stealth masters!" He then whispered, crouching low to
the ground and sneaking forward before excitement bubbles up inside
of him and he pounced up to his feet letting out a small squeal. "I
just realized how excited I am to begin training!"

Maplekit giggled at the older kit's antics and crouched into a stalking position before leaping, aiming to tackle Ripplekit to the ground. Well, she got the leap right. Maplekit still needed to work on her aim since landed flat on her belly beside Ripplekit. She let out a small groan as she rolled over on her side, that really hurt. The brown eyed kit stood up and shook off the dust on her pelt before glancing at the camp entrance."You know, we'll never get any real experience inside camp. I mean, what's the fun of pretending to hunt in camp. We can go hunt for real!"She purred excitedly.

Ripplekit's words made Ashkit feel at ease. They were nice words of encouragement. The ginger she-kit really liked the two kits. She wanted them to become apprentices together. It would be fun, and they could strategize with each other and work together as a team. A family. A clan... Ashkit laughed and rolled her blue eyes playfully at Ripplekit. Maplekit was also laughing at it, too. It was cute how confident Ripplekit had gotten in just a few seconds. It was nice to see everyone filled with bright spirits.

Oh, no... Ashkit could see Maplekit was getting ready to jump or tackle Ripplekit. What if they fell off the rocks!? "Maple! Ripple!" she yowled and watched it happen except Maplekit had missed. It was also good that she was okay. "Oh... Thank Cloudclan." Ashkit sighed with relief and started to carefully climb down the rocks. "Hunt.. for real? I don't think we are allowed to do that, Maplekit."
