Chord sat by a tall pine tree quietly. The Blood Thirsties had fallen apart - once again. He wasn't upset about it - he hadn't been a dedicated member anyways. In fact, he'd only been there for Angel. But it was a short infatuation, and she hadn't even known. They were still friends, he believed, though he hadn't seen the white female for quite some time.
The wolf was completely still, watching the trees, the animals, the creek flowing before him. He didn't have anything to do other than sit still, but he didn't mind.
( terrible thread starter ;n; i'm watching something with my family right now, but the rest of the replies will have better quality i promise xD HellHound )

i made my way out of my den, leaving toph to lay there and sleep. i planned on hunting for the two of us, but prey was scarce, and i highly doubted i'd find much. giving a sigh, i trotted through the trees as best i could on my three legs.
with a second mouth to feed now, i was becoming much more fatigued - yet i was willing to do anything for her, as she couldn't do much for herself. however, that did not mean i enjoyed having to go hunting twice as much, especially in my old age.
hoof steps brought me out of my thoughts, and i looked up. however, i could not spot the deer that was prancing about. instead, i caught sight of another wolf, sitting like a decoy of some sort. glancing around, i finally assumed it was okay to speak up. "are you real?" i called, cocking my ugly head.

The male glanced up at the sound of pawsteps, cocking his head as he looked up at the wolf. "Are you real?" Chord flicked an ear. "I hope so," he responded, getting gracefully to his paws and arching his slender body. The wolf watched HellHound with his dark, but beautiful eyes.
He didn't speak for a moment, sitting in silence. The black wolf was clearly older (not enough that it was creepy, though) and he reminded Chord of Angel - the scarred face, the three legs. Yet there was a deeper beauty behind the ugliness. The male was very observant.

raising a fake eyebrow, i stepped a little closer. narrowing my single eye, i stared at this new wolf. "you have a name, stranger?" i inquired, looking him up and down.
he was younger, possibly in his peak. he looked sturdy enough, seemed sane. yet i couldn't put my guard down. something about the way he looked at me put me off. but i still found myself speaking. "name's hellhound, by the way. but don't let the name fool you, i'm not all that hellish anymore." i said with a slight grin and a heavy chuckle.

( yeeeeessss. also forgot to mention he's flirty and sassy. trying to get back into the groove of roleplaying chord so if his personality changes, sorry ;n; )
"Of course," the wolf responded, turning his eyes towards the black wolf. "Chord," he stated simply, a sly smile creeping onto his face. HellHound. The name that was whispered back and forth between wolves, the stories that Chord knew existed, but had never bothered to hear. What was the big deal? The black wolf didn't seem to be anything special - though, perhaps there was something underneath that had yet to be discovered.
"Angel spoke of you," the wolf said, padding closer towards HellHound. He studied his face for a moment. "Anymore, eh?" Chord barked, a curious look alighting in his dark eyes.

i gave a nod at the wolf's introduction. "pleasure to meet you, chord." i muttered sincerely, my stump of a tail waving back and forth slowly. i had never heard of this wolf before, but then again, new wolves appeared almost every day. but... perhaps he wasn't as new as i thought he w-
angel? so he's been around. i gave a large huff, my shoulders rising and falling heavily. "why does it not surprise me that you've met angel? i cannot speak badly of her, as she's a very good friend of mine, but that does not mean she doesn't have a way of meeting every male in the forest." i stated with a shake of my large head. "yes, anymore. i used to be a rather... heartless fiend back when i was around the same age as you, perhaps slightly younger. i wanted nothing more than to take this place by force, whether that meant blood shed or betrayal. i succeeded in due time with my first pack; the blood thirsties. my, how i regret it sometimes. however, if i had not done so, i wouldn't have met the followers i still have today. plus, it definitely allowed me to make a name for myself."

"Pleasure to meet you as well," the wolf responded, cocking one fictional eyebrow. He was wrong about HellHound being like Angel. They were completely different, and he had to say, he liked the former better than the latter. He'd been a fool to think that he'd actually liked her in that way - he just admired her ruthlessness and bloodlust. It got old quickly, and tiring.
"Let me guess - she makes a point to get every male (the straight ones, at least) in her nest?" He inquired, giving a small, yet detectable, roll of his eyes. "She is… an interesting girl." The male listened, Angel forgotten once more. He was better off without a pack. "That makes you sound quite old," he began, "though you still look very youthful to me," Chord said with a sly grin. "Mm, the Blood Thirsties," he said but didn't say much more. He didn't like giving information about himself. "I don't much like packs - no freedom, really, I'd much rather wander."
"You sound like you were much like Angel when you were younger," he said in a soft voice, tilting his head in an Herald of Andrasteyzing way. "I'm glad to have met you now and not then - I would have high tailed it out of here."

i gave a toss of my head at the male's questioning of angel. "i guess you could say that, yes. that, or she finds an obscure reason to hate them, such as him finding a mate before she can get to him first. but, she means well once you get on her good side. she's very loyal... most of the time." i explained with a chuckle, noting chord's roll of the eyes.
"hey, i am not nearly as old as i sound. you haven't seen me in action." i growled jokingly, plopping down in front of the other brute. at his 'youthful' comment, i felt my single ear grow warm. why would he say something like that to me? i shook it off reluctantly, still curious about his motives. "packs are a pain. i understand where you're coming from. i quite like my current loner life." i decided to keep my mouth shut about the puppeteers cult, as i did not fully trust this wolf yet.
i gave a hardy laugh, my dark features lighting up. "i like to think of myself as both worse and better than how angel is now. worse being that i could command a whole army with a toss of my head, but better because i still had some sense of trust and... love." i trailed off, my mind wandering to an old dame of mine. "but, in any way, i'm quite glad you met me now as well. i'm quite enjoying this conversation."

"Ah. She does seem like a great pack leader," Chord added with a small nod. He flicked an ear as HellHound spoke of his age, allowing himself a small chuckle as he sat down beside the black wolf. HellHound seemed a bit flustered, and he couldn't help but give him another grin. "The great HellHound, retiring from pack leadership, eh?" Chord was beginning to like this wolf more and more.
The wolf nodded, listening. "You sound like you've had some experience with that," he said quietly, leaning back against a tree. Maybe HellHound had a story to tell, but he doubted that he'd want to tell it. "As am I," Chord agreed.
