Blackthorn was out looking for some herbs for the meds. He remembered slightly being shown a bit of herbs by Mintfrost when he had lived in TreeClan but his knowledge was if anything quite limited. He could remember a few names and appearances of herbs, but most of it was a blur. He was just looking for catmint though. With the heatwave currently in FireClan it was essential to keep the sick cats healthy. Blackthorn worried severely for the life of his Clan especially the sick and wounded. Times like this it called for drastic measures and he knew the risks of coming to the twolegplace but he was willing to do it for his Clan.
He came upon a few houses and he decided to start looking in a yard. Maybe some twolegs would be growing some catmint, or how they knew it as, catnip. He knew how drastic the situation back home was so he was going to try not to show back up empty handed. He sneaked through the yard, he hoped no humans were here. Last time he had encountered humans they had kidnapped him and kept him as a pet for two months.
"I need to act fast." He darted towards the yard.

Before the deputy of Fireclan approached one of the two legs' yard, the patio door of a two leg's home slid open. A dark Russian blue she-cat with bright green eyes stepped out into the backyard gracefully. Her green eyes looked around the yard, and she walked up to the wisteria tree her owner had raised from a seedling.
The sparkle in her eyes was filled with admiration as she looked up at the pretty light purple tree. Maggy dug her claws into the trunk of the tree and started to climb it. She made it up there and walked out on a branch, settling down on it with her tail flicking back and forth off the edge.
Her head rested on her paws and she purred to herself. There was a flash of white running up to the fence, and Maggy lifted her head up. Was it an intruder? She sat up on the branch and let out a sigh, flicking her tail in irritation.
The she-cat climbed down the tree and crouched down behind the tree, watching for the intruder to jump the fence. A playful yet serious grin appeared on her lips. It was exciting, and she wanted to bust the cat for stealing her precious catnip.

The deputy sunk low behind the fence. He peeked to see the yard and saw no trace of twolegs or any other cats, though he seemed to pick up the scent of a few, they were probably kittypets that had passed through early. He was ignorant to the fact Maggy was there, and it was the last thing on his mind was to keep watch of kittypets.
He carefully jumped the fence and scanned the area with his bi-colored eyes. Narrowing them, he descended into the yard and crept over towards the garden. He sniffed to find where the catmint was located and found some with ease. He reached to grab it but his ears twitched at a sound of a rustling bush.
He lifted his head and looked back, but it was only a robin and it flew away. He snorted in frustration and leaned his head back down to grab a thing of catmint. He'd bring this back to the Clan and provide some relief for the sick and wounded. He wouldn't let anymore of his Clan die off.

Her heart jumped and she almost let out a squeak when the cat jumped onto the fence. The catnip thief was revealed! However, the catnip thief was quite handsome and his eyes looked to be different colors. Maggy couldn't tell what the colors were from so far away, though. His pelt pattern was very different, and his front paws had black toes. Hm.. Must be a domestic cat. Maggy was the offspring of two Russian blue cats that were hoping for another perfect Russian blue.
Well, it was her owner that wanted her perfect. Maggy turned out perfect except for the white splotch on her chest, but she didn't pay that much attention. The poor cat didn't know that she wouldn't have much time to live. Her owner was going to put her down because of the white splotch. He didn't want her to pass it down the bloodline and then there would be more complications, messing up the purebred offspring. Maggy readied her paws and wiggled her butt, her eyes grew big and were locked on the tom. Then, she was off like a dart! She charged towards Blackthorn and attempted to knock him over and pin him to the ground.
The she-cat felt kind of bad for attacking him out of the blue, but she didn't have time to chit chat with him. He would get away with HER catnip! "You know, all you had to do was ask for some. Then, maybe I would give it to you~ Give me that!" she joked at first and tried to snatch the catnip away from the tom.

Blackthorn's ears twitched and he looked back to hear quick pawsteps. He widened his eyes but they quickly narrowed. He was quick to react to the she-cat's charge, but almost too late. When she attempted to knock him over his foot slipped and he tipped over slightly but caught his balance, but it made him drop the catmint. "I don't want to have to hurt a kittypet!" But as he said that he attempted to knock his head onto hers to counterattack the pin. He'd give her a little headbutt, but it'd only leave them both with a slight headache instead of getting into a full fight.
"Sorry hon, but I don't have time to play." He flicked an ear. "I'm not here to play kittypet again. I need this stuff just a little more than you do right now." He wasn't intent on having to fight with her. He honestly wasn't bias against kittypets, he honestly didn't care, well unless they acted all high and mighty like the cat he'd met before named Annabelle.
He snorted in annoyance and flattened his ears. "You wouldn't understand, considering your living conditions." He flicked his half-tail and his jet-black paws stood firmly on the ground. "We come from two completely different worlds, dear."
He glanced quickly at the catnip then back at her. "..you aren't going to let me leave peacefully are you?" He gave a sigh in frustration. "See here, if I don't get this back to my.. group you could call it, then there's going to be cats that may die." He didn't want to have to pull the guilt card, but he wasn't going to leave without bringing home what he came for.
"I'm Blackthorn. You could say I'm.. one of the leaders of said group." He was second in command, close enough.

What...? Kittypet? Was that some kind of nickname or something? The Russian blue she-cat went in to pin the tom, but he headbutted her straight on. Maggy stumbled backwards and tripped over her legs, falling down on her rear. She sat there on her rear and growled underneath her breath, glaring at the tom. Her ears pinned back slightly and she whimpered to herself. "Ow... That hurt, you know!" she snapped and rose up to her paws. Boy, did she dislike his attitude! How rude of him. "I'm not here to play kittypet again. I need this stuff just a little more than you do right now." Again? Was he a runaway?
Maggy shook her head and walked up to the tom, batting at his head playfully. "You dummy! That's all you had to say, geez." This cat is so weird and yet... a bit amusing. A smile started to form on her lips and she sat down, flicking her tail back and forth. "You wouldn't understand, considering your living conditions." Her shoulders shrugged and she nodded, trying to understand what he meant. If he was a runaway and had to hunt for his food, then yeah, she could understand that part. Did he miss the catnip?
"We come from two completely different worlds, dear." The tom was so right. Was that supposed to insult me? It didn't work... Her eyes were locked on his and she noticed him glance at the catnip. Did she have to repeat herself again...?
"You can take it. But, is it so hard to just ask for some? You never know if a cat will say yes if you asked first." It didn't bother her, anyway. The only problem would be that she would get in trouble for getting into the catnip. There goes my catnip for a month... Maggy sighed at the thought of her owner getting mad at her for messing with the garden at all. She only knew that her catnip would get taken away for a month because she always used to dig catnip up from the garden when she was a kit. "..you aren't going to let me leave peacefully are you?" He was wrong.
Maggy would let him go peacefully this time. She would expect him to ask next time otherwise she wouldn't take it so lightly. "See here, if I don't get this back to my.. group you could call it, then there's going to be cats that may die." "What have I told you, silly? You can take it. Next time just ask, okay?" Her smile grew bigger and she started to purr to herself. The tom wasn't too bad. It sucked that he would have to leave soon.
Maggy was curious about him and wanted to learn more about her catnip thief. Maggy stood up again and walked over to the catnip that was dropped. Her head bent down and she picked it up with her jaws, turning and walking back to Blackthorn. She set it down in front of him and stepped backwards, sitting down and smiling at him. "There you go~ Oh, and my name is Magna, but I prefer to be called Maggy. It sounds cute, doesn't it?" Blackthorn was an interesting name. It sounded a bit weird but maybe he had weird owners.
"Why are you named Blackthorn? And, you don't look like a purebred cat... Are you one of those domestic cats? I'm a purebred! Russian blue cat. Nice to meet you, Blackthorn."

"Well I had to do something. I wasn't gonna let you pin me." He flicked an ear and his eyes narrowed further. "Well you never know, some of these kittypets are self entitled, think the world resolves around 'em. At least the ones I've met have." Once the hostility was gone Blackthorn's ears perked back up and his demeanor changed completely. "I can't promise I'll be all that courteous." With a flick of his half-tail he grabbed the catmint and prepared to take off, but she inquired about his name, and he felt obligated to respond, since after all she did voluntarily give it to him, at least now.
He dropped it and sat back down. He flicked an ear once more, but this time irritably. "Alright.. Thanks for the catmint.. I guess." Blackthorn shifted his gaze back towards her. "I guess." He shrugged his shoulder when she asked whether he thought her name was cute. He replied awkwardly.
"My name? Well.." His name had changed so much during his life. It had been Blackkit, then Sootpaw, then Sootstripe, then Coal, Coalstone, Spots, back to Sootstripe and then Blackthorn. He'd gone through such dramatic changes. But he didn't care enough to explain all that. "Because I earned that name." He didn't know whether to bother explaining himself to her. He could easily dart off with the catnip but then he'd probably feel bad. He sighed and gave in, he began to explain.
"Purebred cat? Huh?" He cocked his head. Did she mean pure-Clan or something? He was half-Clan, that wasn't exactly pure blood. "Uh.. no..? I don't really know what that's supposed to mean. I'm not from around here. I live in a Clan. FireClan to be exact. Imagine a big group of cats, and I'm not talking about just ten cats. I'm talking lots. I'm the deputy of FireClan." He explained, not sure she'd understand what he was getting at.
"My name is Blackthorn because that's my Clan name. I don't really know my breed entirely? My mother was a calico, and my father was just a forest cat who was white and gray. Both of them lived in different Clans." He didn't know why he went into such detail about his life to a stranger, but he shrugged it off.

"You must think my name is strange as well especially if there are cats you live with that have names like that." The she-cat giggled to herself and kept her bright green eyes locked on the tom. Her gaze started to soften, and her muscles relaxed as if she trusted Blackthorn. "I'm not from around here. I live in a Clan. FireClan to be exact. Imagine a big group of cats, and I'm not talking about just ten cats. I'm talking lots. I'm the deputy of FireClan." Her eyes widened in shock, thinking of everything he just told her. Was he being serious? No, it had to be a kittypet joke! He did smell of many things that weren't around the twolegplace.
Maggy tilted her head and blinked at Blackthorn curiously. Could there really be a clan of cats in the wild? That was hard to imagine and it was kind of funny, too. "Woah! That's amazing!" Her ears perked up and she jumped up to her paws with excitement. Her big smile faded and she looked a bit worried for Blackthorn and his clan. Maggy walked up to Blackthorn and nudged him, gesturing toward the fence. "P-Please... Hurry back to your clan. They're your family... They need that catnip. Their lives depend on it! And, if you need any more, it'll be right here. However, if my owners find out that I've been digging in the garden, they'll keep me inside for a while. You can... still take it. Just be careful."
It was very important that Blackthorn got back as soon as he could. His clan depended on it! "A-And, if you want... you can come by again. I can meet you on the outside of the fence. T-That's if you want... It just gets lonely around here especially if most of the cats think you're an annoying brat.."

"Not entirely. I had to take on names like that before." He shrugged. When she exclaimed her delight about the Clans he blinked in surprise. Although he really shouldn't have been. He had seen kittypets express interest in Clans before and many of them joined the Clans on several occasions. He cocked his head. "I won't let you get in trouble. This will be fine, thank you." He was surprised she wanted to be this helpful. He was grateful though. "Thanks.." He mumbled once more.
"If I pass by, I don't mind coming back. I don't get why the cats think you are an annoying brat? You seem fine to me, helpful even. I'm grateful for the help."
