- The rat. It was morning, and the day was just barely starting, but the kitten felt like his day was just starting to end. It was exhausting, having to fight for Scarletfire's milk with the rest of his siblings. He did not really yet know how to fight for what he wanted, but rather, he just let the rest of his littermates take what they wanted to first. as unappealing of a lifestyle that was, that's how things went for the runt.
the runt. making him the youngest, the smallest of his littermates. he would probably always be the weakest, but that also meant that he would need the most nurturing if he was expected to get far in life right?
ratkit's amber eyes glanced around the nursery, looking for somewhere not so busy to settle in for the morning. he did not even yet know his siblings, what a shame. if only someone would speak to him and get him not so preoccupied on being tired and hungry. he just needed someone to interact with, but who would even consider playing with a kit?
or a rat for crying out loud. a rat was one of rockclan's biggest threats. one bite from a rat could lead to serious infection, which can often lead to a cat's death if not dealt in time. a powerful name ratkit carried. ulla |

Violetkit sniffed her dirty paw.She had been adventuring and immediately regretted it.She looked over to the wiggling kits trying to win there moms milk .Her eyes landed on one kit that wasnt eating. Runt probably not able to get any food.

- The rat. ratkit tumbled, figuring that the mission to be fed would be impossible. maybe scarletfire would feed him individually later on? the tom with great thirst and hunger, began to nibble on the moss of his nest. at least some was edible.

Violetkit new this might not be ok but the cat looked hungry. She walekd out then came back with a tiny mouse.She walked over to the kit nudgeing him. She looked at the mouse."Take tiny bites then swallow"She said quietly still looking at the mouse. She wasnt used to being nice it was weird.

- The rat. ratkit stared with confusion in his eyes as the stranger came to bring him some lump of something with a nudge. he continued to chew on the moss, knowing that some kits wanted to just harm the runt's health - not that it could really get as bad as how it currently was in this manner.
"wha what is it?" he eventually piped in, surprised to respond to the stranger.

Violetkit looked up from munching on the mouse."Mouse....My mom doesnt feed me so I eat regular food"She said looking at him.She wasnt at all suprised he didnt eat it but it was his luck if he diedit wouldnt be her fault. He need to eat its the number one rule ever.

- The rat. mouse. regular food. ratkit took a small sniff, intrigued by such an idea. so this was food. was scarletfire's milk not food too? "why doesn't your mommy feed you?" he asked, taking a nibble of the thing called mouse, only to curl his tongue.
"why is it so soft, but hard at the same time?" by now, the kitten was starting to take larger nibbles, fighting his hunger.

Violetkit looked down at the younger kit. "Well....lets just say ..between you and me..in my litter I was the runt to"She said.takeing another tiny bite and pushing it towards him."Dont eat so fast you dont want to choke on any bones' She said spitting out a bone onto the floor herself.

- The rat. ratkit stared at violetkit in disbelief. her being a runt? she was big and strong, which completely made no sense to him! at her comment, he stopped his nibbling and nodded. he did not want to choke. especially in front of the only thing he really could call a friend. or someone who was willing to talk to him instead of having a forced conversation.
'or maybe she's just trying to be nice just because she feels sorry.' he thought. 'but she's a runt. so maybe that's why she's being so nice.'
that was too much thought for the kitten and he watched as the older kitten spat out the bone. "who who's your mommy?"
