@kanewolf Rain fell in small droplets, pattering against dark leaves and wetting the ground. The hills rose up to meet the gray sky, darker against the dark clouds. The only sound to be heard was the water, nothing stirred from their dens and nests.
A young she-wolf huddled under the roots of a tree, her snow tinted coat plastered to her body. She shivered, ears flattened against her skull, and storm grey optics narrowed. She had realized she would have to wait out the rain until she could do some hunting for herself, and even then the food would be scarce. The water-plastered pelt hung below her underbelly, water dripping to the ground beneath her. It allowed anything to see how thin she was - her rib cage stuck out just enough to give her the looks of pathetic really. So what she was a smaller wolf!
Though her little 'tree cave' was dry, it wasn't close to warm at all. She tipped her head, listening to the rain outside. She enjoyed the sound of it, but nothing else about it. Her dripping soggy tail twitched as she settled down against a tall, dirt wall. She closed her eyes for a moment, attempting to ignore the she had a small wound that if not properly healed could be really bad news great another thing to add to her day!
A sound echoed in her ears. Storms optics snapped open, and she watched the dark cramps between the roots, Silvery optics searching for the source. An even darker shadow fell across the roots, and it paused. She sat, awaiting the intruder. "Hello?"
she spoke softly as she got a faint wisp of the scent not of her Pack... yet familiar...

Kane loved the sound of the rain.
He hated the feel of it. He felt his dark fur being dragged down as if some wolf was pulling downwards on it. It made him feel heavy and made it hard to walk. The ground was wet and puddles were in abundance. If his paw was not splashing him from a puddle, it was assimilating mud between his pads. He tried looking up. Wherever he couldn't see the overhead leaves from the trees, there was a dark background. Not a hint of blue.
He shook his head as he lowered his head once more. The sky was plagued by the storm clouds. The rain was still undergoing the worst. It'd be a while before the rain would cease and leave him alone. Times like these... Reminded him of how alone he was. The rain would be a little better if he could have a wolf there with him. Someone who he could pretend to be optimistic to.
Yet no wolf was there. Because he was a lone wolf, not a pack wolf. He still didn't like the idea of a pack. He liked company though. Being alone was a horrible. Though, he'd choose loneliness over loss of freedom everyday.
Though... He wondered if the day would ever come that a third choice would present itself. Somehow... He doubted it would.
---
Kane had been walking forward mindlessly through the forest. He wasn't paying attention to where he was walking. The rain was simply there. Background noise. Not worthy of notice. He wasn't deep in his thoughts. It was almost as if he'd left his own body, leaving it to wander in a straight line forevermore. Until he tripped over a root and he snapped back. He cursed lightly. Aware now, he noticed the roots offered some shelter. He tried slipping under the roots and saw another wolf already was there. Someone vaguely familiar. Yet he couldn't lay his paw on it.
"Do i know you?"

The Form moved Closer as if it had not heard her faint call, the scent of male over took the air in witch she breathed as well as all sorts of the forests scents clearly this male traveled he scented of the cool mountain stream.. the norther spiny pines.. to here the damp decaying scent of watered down leafs.. and of course the fresh sent of rain she loved the scent it was really great... but.. her thoughts stopped short as he seemed the male was going to enter her small just now den. She scooted farther into the small area now cramped and really uncomfortable she was about to let out a warning Growl when the Male spoke and a light bulb suddenly lite up Loud and Bright... she recodnised the Voice.. she tilted her head and her silvery storm like optics looked up trying to meet the amber ones the night hued male carried! and she spoke just to make sure.. and with a small hint of disbelieve " @kanewolf?" She started to move forward still a little stunned it was him..

The somewhat familiar wolf was retreating further into the den as he entered.
Kane saw the she-wolf tilt her head and their eyes met. His amber eyes widened. Was it?! She spoke his name. Then it certainly was. That silvery she-wolf he'd met before... Was cramped here in this den with him. He was ever so surprised. What were the odds?! "... Storm?" He dared. Since apparently she recognized him. She seemed slightly disbelieving as well, seeing him. He wondered why she was here. Well... Obviously taking shelter from the rain. But... Why not somewhere else? Didn't her pack have shelter or something? He didn't know much about packs... He assumed they might.

She scooted back seeing how small the den already was but now he had joined her with in the cramped space of warmth... She tilted her head as his bright flame tinted optics met her own silver stoned ones. Her mind raced, what was he doing here well besides taking shelter the forest was huge what was the odds of them ending up in the same tree? She smiled a little as he tried her name she nodded her *Yes*
as she was now in the farthest point possible she eased hopping the small space she had allowed would be enough for the male sure he was not huge but compared to her very small self, there was no doubt he could take her down she was so small rather a shame to her family sure females tend to be smaller than the average male but dang she was pretty small and from what it would seem not growing much either..... She twisted her head around to slowly lap at the nasty and or gritty mud in her paws hoped to free them of the stinking earth with very little achivment she stopped and spoke softly as if she was scared "What brings you to this part of the Forest?" really how much did he travel?...? the thought rang with in her head how did he do it the traveling would seem amazing to anyone but to be alone thought it all..... No thanks.
