Everest woke with a yawn in her twoleg nest. The smell of wood flooded her nose as she looked out the window. It was open just slightly, and it just stopped raining. The trees were wet which gave off a wonderful smell. The tortoiseshell she-cat ran upstairs and peeked through the full-grown owners' room. Roger was getting up and Thalia was in the bathroom. Everest then walked over to the twoleg kits' room. Alex was asleep with her headphones on and Riley was sleeping his her teddy. Good. Roger is up just on schedule to feed me and everyone is following the daily Summer routine. Everest thought before going downstairs. Roger opened the can of moist food. (Which looked like flaked ham freshly out of the can). He put it in her bowl before rubbing her head and leaving. Everest quickly ate her breakfast before leaving the house.
She hopped into the box of Roger's truck as he turned it on and left for the city. "It's funny how he never knows." She purred to herself. They arrived at the first stop in the city. Everest jumped out of the monster before running along the streets into town. She knew that most cats lived in the town instead of the city, and thankfully, all she had to do was get over the wood fence and run across the field for a bit. Once she got into town, she started sniffing around. She wondered who she would meet today? "Hello?"

E V E R E S TAnother morning went by without much commotion for the dark ginger tabby. His owner had tossed a pawful of those goshaweful pellets into his bowl, which he had grudgingly ate. Once the brown-furred two-leg had left for his morning job Alfie snuck out the open kitchen window so he could explore the streets. Nothing was out of the ordinary: the roofs were still dirty enough for his to leave pawprints on, the garbage-fed pigeons and mice were still slow enough for him to easily catch, and they're weren't any new faces to converse with. Well, until someone spoke to him that is. Turning his head, he looked curiously at the tortoiseshell. She smells funny, he thought, tipping his head to the side curiously and looking her over for a moment. "Hi," the amber-eyed tom greeted passively back once he had concluded she wasn't a threat.

Once the dark ginger tabby appeared, Everest smiled. She sat down and wrapped her tail around her paws. The tortoiseshell scratched her collar before looking back at Alfie. "Why hello there. I'm Everest, I live out in the country a few minutes from the city. And what's your name, friend?" She asked, remembering what her mother had taught her when it came to strangers.

E V E R E S T Alfie felt his former shyness melt away at the other kittypet's kind attitude. "I'm Alfie," the copper tabby introduced, a lopsided smile creeping its way onto his face, "it's nice to meet you. I've never met anyone from the country before." He had never really left the city, to tell the truth, and he was more than interested in hearing what stories this she-cat had to tell. If there was any, that is, he knew from first-paw experience that kittypet's didn't always live an interesting life. Yet even if she didn't have any cool stories, he always had a good time meeting others.
