cold as ice and more bitter than a december winter night. | The morning was quite, an odd sort of quite that only showed it's face during that time. All of the other times were filled with noise, lots of it. Between keeping my up with an apprentice, his own mate and their new kits, quite wasn't really an opportunity. But morning, that was the time to let silence soak into one's pelt and just...we'll be still.
Time continued to pass and old friends began to fade. That seemed to be happening a lot in Ashfrost's life. He needed someone to talk to again. He might be getting older by the day, but he still craved adventures and old fun. So maybe the silence in the morning was also a search for something...something again.
With a sigh, Ashfrost heaved himself to his paws and then suddenly bumped into some cat. "Great CloudClan," he muttered. Then he looked at his victim and added a sincere "I'm really sorry there."

(Mind if I bud in, a few months late?) Hailsong looked up and awkwardly stepped back a bit, but not too much. She didn't want to make the other cat feel uncomfortable. "Oh no," she said, finally looking up tp a cat latger than herself and a bit intimidating. Alas, Hailsong wasn't intimidated, she was certain that this cat was in her clan. Why wouldn't he be? "Oh no," the warrior repeated, "It's my fault really." Hailsong looked around. "I was just standing here doing nothing." She mewed akwardly, attempting to get a good footing. Nowadays, the she-cat had a tendancy to ramble, and was trying her best not to, so she just held her tounge and waited for a reply.

cold as ice and more bitter than a december winter night. | Ashfrost sort of smiled at the she-cat before him. He had been out for a while and needed new friends anyways, so why not start here. It would be all good, right? "I don't believe I have met you before, I'm Ashfrost." he meowed. It had been super sensitive lately, since he and his ex-mate had just parted ways, but he refused to be bitter because of it. It her was honest, he was sued to the disappointments that came with life. It was just...well life.
"Do you want to get something to eat?" Ashfrost asked the other cat. He had nothing else to do and this seemed like a good suggestion. Today, he would be bright and happy, even it it was just and act. He needed the brightness wherever he could get it. A new friends would seem to provide this.

Hailsong nodded. "Ok, that would be nice." She stood up and placed herself next to Ashfrost. "By the way, my name is Hailsong. I think I've seen you around a bit." She closed her mind and scanned her mind. "Yeah," She opened her eyes. "You are the one who always goes out. For food, right?"

cold as ice and more bitter than a december winter night. | The last comment Hailsong made almost made Ashfrost laugh. He held it in though. And really thinking about it, she was right. He did go out for food a lot and never really noticed. But with no apprentices and nothing better to do, he might as well make itself useful.
"Nice to meet you, Hailsong," Ashfrost smiled, leading the way to the fresh kill pile. When he got there, he turned back around. "What is your favorite?" He asked motioning to the fresh kill pile with his tail.

Hailsong approched the pile. "I've always gone for a vole." She scanned the pile with keen eyes and spotted one. "So why stop now?" she asked Ashfrost. She didn't expect him to answer though, as it was a rhetorical question. The warrior picked up th vole and waited for her new ally to make his decision.

cold as ice and more bitter than a december winter night. | Ashfrost almost chuckled at Hailsong's comment before picking out his personal favorite of a bird and settling down to start plucking feathers. He carefully plucked them all and set aside the soft down ones to give to the Queens and Elders. While doing so, he began to start small talk.
"How have you been lately with the season changes and such?" He always was poor at conversation like this and never quite knew what to say. But they couldn't just sit there so he took the lead.

Hailsong stepped back and plopped herself down next to her new friend and took a bite out of her thrush. After hearing Ashfrost's question. she quickly chewed and swalllowed it before replying. "I guess I've been okay... I mean, normally it's too hot or too cold." Hailsong took another bite and while her mouth was full, the warrior added to her small speech. "I usually stay in my den until someone drags me out." She swallowed her meal and let out a tiny laugh.

cold as ice and more bitter than a december winter night. | Ashfrost chuckled as he listened to Hailsong talk about being drug out of her den. "Your almost as bad as the apprentices," He joked taking a bit of his own food and letting the flavor seep in. Though he particularly didn't love early mornings either, he liked to do something almost constantly, so he always forced himself out of bed.

(This clip reminds me of this post: CLIP) Hailsong loved that joke. She laughed loudly and replied. "No," she mewed, "I'm worse than the apprentices!" She laughed more, accidentally kicking her meal a mouse-length away from it's previous position. She stopped laughing and kicked her meal back into her clutches. "See?" she mewed, adding to her previous comment. "Clumsy and lazy." Today was a day for joking, thought Hailsong. "Clumsy and lazy," she repeated sarcastically, "Just like a warrior should be." Hailsong laughed again, but for a shorter time and more quiet.

(Couldn't use temple...left the code somewhere and I'm On my phone and can't quote the previous one)
Ashfrost smiled at Hailsong's light tones. He took another bite of his meal and then laughed. "That's the kind of warriors we need, huh?" Shaking his head he stood and prided Hailsong in the side gentley.
"Let's do something, lazy," he smiled.

Hailsong nodded enthusiastically. "That sounds like the best idea ever!" Hailsong stood up and looked around. The spot that seemed like the best to lie down and be lazy was a fox-length away from them. "Do you want to go over there?" she suggested, gesturing with her tail to the spot she spotted earlier.
