I smiled as I smelled the fresh air and felt it circulate through my lungs, cooling and refreshing my body on this new day. I was going to be having my final assessment soon, so I was hoping that there was some other apprentice awake that I would be able to talk to, perhaps a friend or maybe someone I hadn't yet met. There were so many apprentices, that it got a little chaotic at times, and even I hadn't met everyone yet. Soon, I would be a warrior, and then there would be even more cats to meet! Jeez, we had such a big Clan.

As I sat up in my nest, looking around the den, I thought that I spotted a shadow flickering in my peripheral vision. It might have just been my imagination, but I doubted I would have day dreamed it. Turning my head to the side, I saw a figure that looked like a rather young apprentice. "Hello. How are you today?" I asked with a smile.

Skypaw stood up in his nest, about to leave the den. It was boring in there with no one to talk to, so he figured there might be something fun to do outside. As he started walking, the tom passed an older white she-cat on the way. He figured an older apprentice would want nothing to do with him, but he thought wrong.

Skypaw smiled to Melodypaw and padded closer. Maybe not all of the older apprentices were brats. "Hello! I'm good, what about you?" He tilted his head. It was dark in the den, though he could still see the outline of Melodypaw. She looked like a warrior. "You getting your assessment soon?"

I huffed, but tried not to let my bad mood get me down. I would be getting my assessment soon, or at least I hoped I would. It was long past time and I was beginning to wonder if my new mentor, Waterbreeze, would ever give me my assessment. I already knew all the stuff she was trying to teach me. Keyword there is trying.

Forcing a smile, I nodded. "Yep, I should be. Hope so." Trying to think of a good conversation starter, I pondered my thoughts for a moment before coming up with--"I don't think I've seen you around here, though I think I saw you at one of the recent ceremonies....Skypaw, right? Who is your mentor again?" I asked, because, for whatever reason, I just couldn't seem to remember the name of his mentor.

"That's neat! I wish I was becoming a warrior soon." He chirped, genuinely happy for her. He waited in silence, getting the feeling that the she-cat was thinking of something to say. He was right, and very surprised at her comment. "Y-Yeah, I am Skypaw! My mentor's Duskrise. He's really cool."

Realizing it was his turn to as a question, Skypaw thought for a bit.... Then remembered he didn't even know this cat's name. "It's nice that you know my name, but I can't say the same for you. You do seem familiar, though. Who's your mentor?"
