@drought
Alright, I've got you now. There's no way out. You're mine! Mirage's mind raced as she crouched low against the ground, her gray fur allowing her to blend in with the shadows. Her amber gaze was trained on a single mouse nibbling on a seed. Perfect... Now all I have to do is- The mouse's ears suddenly perked up as if startled by something. Before Mirage could pounce it turned and dashed into a small hole in the ground, which of course she hadn't seen.
Her eyes narrowed in frustration at yet another failed catch. As if to rub salt on her wounds, Mirage's stomach growled loudly. The gray she-cat began to angrily claw at the ground, hoping for that to some how relieve her of the pain in her stomach. Of course it did nothing but dirty her claws. With a sigh Mirage began to make her way over to a patch of shade only to flop down on her side.
She looked up at the sky were the sun burned brightly scorching the land below. Of course today also happened to be one of the hottest days of the year so any chance of finding prey now was gone. This is just great! Just terrific! Mirage thought as she placed her head on her paws. I don't care who it is, but the next cat I see is going to get it. I don't even care if it's Drought himself. Of course that was exaggeration, but still. Mirage was furious and this heat was not doing her any favors.

DROUGHT OF DEATHCLAN Drought was pleased to live in a damp, shady territory on a day like this. The pine trees blocked most of the harsh sunlight, and he could always visit the swamp or the river if things got too hot. Not that he'd ever go for a swim in the swamp. That'd probably get him killed. But the mud there could be rolled in, and once it dried on a pelt, it would keep a cat cool. Thankfully, the river had stayed free of contamination ever since that one incident, so that was an option if he felt like taking a dip.
Right now? It was veering on the uncomfortable side of warm, but the patched tom could handle it. He was in the middle of a stroll when he happened to smell Mirage. Drought frowned slightly - he was pretty sure he remembered this peasant's scent from several moons ago. Then again, better to be safe than sorry. He padded over to investigate.
Drought found the grey feline resting beneath a tree and appearing to be angry at the world. "Something the matter?" the leader asked mildly. WORDS: 186 || WRITTEN FOR: Mirage NOTES - No problem! My replies will be all over the place, since I'm usually online but don't always get a chance to post. template by Margie @ Adoxography v2
