Idk what this is or where it's going. Basically coming up with everything as I go<3
The Ubreviel Kingdom had been the oldest nation in recorded history. It's long lines of rulers had been the most powerful in the world, wielding strange magics unknown to the rest of Seprion's people. It stood tall and proud for seven centuries. It's people pushed back wave after wave of invading barbarians, and rival empires. Up until The Severance, no man on Seprion could even imagine the mighty land to crumble.
The Severance was a literal cutoff of the nation from the continent of Chiris. The Gods of Old, who tore their way from their prisons in the Domain of Anguish, quite literally ripped Ubreviel from the earth. It was in Ubreviel, the First Kingdom, that the New, True Gods had defeated those of Old, and it was there that the Old Gods took their vengeance out on man. The King of Ubreviel, Ariston, was able to escape The Severance with his wife and son. The dark magics taught to the rulers of Ubreviel were just powerful enough to remove them from the kingdom before the Old Gods removed it from Seprion.
After the great kingdom was ripped from the ground, the Old Gods made it their own realm. A war started, between the Old Gods, and the New. Chiris was ravaged with unfolding chaos. The Old Gods, who had not created the inhabitants of Seprion, killed anything and everything in their sight. Those that managed to flee to surrounding continents were either considered curses, and were killed in their refuge, or were considered heroes. Those that survived were to be known as the Immortals. Humanity called on them to work with the True Gods to bring Ubreviel back to the world, and return the Old Gods to the Domain of Anguish for eternity.
The Immortals blamed Ariston for the Severance. Considering he was able to escape from the event magically, he became the enemy. The Immortals spread lies that it had been Ariston who brought the Old ones back. He had been unscathed by their wrath, and had escaped not only himself, but with the entirety of his family, and with not a single word given ever since. The Ubreviel Kingdom had gone from a paradise to a curse overnight.
Ariston did not survive, however. The amount of energy it took for him to rescue his family ultimately killed him. His wife, Rhea, led their son to another larger nation on the continent of Yathea. The nation, named Athesil, was another ancient civilization, having been founded nearly four centuries prior to the Severance. Unable to identify herself to the public, Rhea created a new identity for herself and her son of nine. For the next seven years the two would travel Seprion in search of allies, as well as teachers for the true heir of Ubreviel, Leon.
While Leon and his mother travelled the world, the war between the various gods, as well as with humanity, raged on. The Immortals allied themselves with the True Gods, and created a new nation to call their capital. The Old Gods continued to rule and fight from Ubreviel, while various nations and factions rose to either ally themselves with the Immortals, or to fight for the Old Gods in hope of ending the Severance.
Now Leon, aged sixteen, must create his own army, and he must win back the favor of both humanity, and the True Gods. An old scholar has joined Leon and his mother, and claims to know where Leon can learn the mysterious magics that his father once knew, which may just be able to end the Severance once and for all.
