Splish, splash, splish, splash.
A young, black she-cat was padding slowly across the concrete sidewalk. A light rain was falling and slowly soaking her short fur. Her blue-gray eyes looked around, shining in the dimness.
"I shouldn't have left." Panther mumbled to no one, pressing on. "It's... Cold."
She gazed at a Twoleg garden, large, leafy plants spread out and water slid off them easily. I should hide under there.
Stepping lightly towards the bush, she snuggled up into it. "I hope no kittypets know I'm here."

look into my eyes look into my eyes Alfie paced around his living room, wondering where his owner had run off to. The strange flesh-beast was always returning home late, but when it was raining like this the tabby worried. After all, mobile-cages were exactly the most trustworthy of beasts, the kittypet had heard of them sliding off blackroad when it rained hard enough. Maybe I should go look for him, Alfie thought, looking towards the kitchen window, which was cracked open. He could just be at the bar with his friends or something, it wouldn't be the first time he had found the two-leg groveling around at the bar. A part of Alfie dreaded the thought though, he didn't exactly want to face his father, who would no doubt be running around the beer-scented building. Deciding he might as well check, the dark ginger tom jumped to the window and slipped outside. He would have to trek through the garden and push over a loose fenceboard to get to the street. Halfway across the garden the tom stopped, his attentive nose picking up a scent. Curious, he looked around, pinpointed a bush that, strangely enough, had a cat-like tail. I wonder... twitching his tail, the copper tabby padded forward, not caring too much that the rain was soaking his thin pelt. "Is anyone there?" he mewed, his voice directed at the frame that was progressively becoming clearer as he approached.

Cookie had been walking along the fence.
It was something all the other cats seemed to be able to easily, but her claws and paws simply did not fit to the weathered wood in a way that allowed her to stay on, and every so often she'd topple off with a cry--pretty much the extent of any emotion she showed on her face. Not on purpose, she just... didn't do that. She didn't seem to know how.
She wasn't focusing, that was probably it. Her mind--as many-geared and complicated as it was--kept flitting back to her conversation with her sister, and Panda's suggestion to run away. Logically, it was a good idea. Cookie knew that. Logic was one of the only planes she operated on. But she was afraid. Even if she didn't show it, even if she couldn't show it... She knew and would tell without hesitation that was afraid to leave a sheltered life.
Such deep thoughts were interrupted by a mew, and Cookie realised all of a sudden that it was raining--a light sprinkle that chilled her mottled coat. The voice had asked if anyone was there--but she didn't think it was talking to her.
"Hello?" she asked, confused, as she padded awkwardly along the fence--and then managed a spectacular tumble into someone else's yard and found herself in front of a ginger tom that she vaguely recognized--she believed his name was Alfie. She pushed herself to her feet. "Were you talking to me?" she asked, but she felt that he wasn't.

look into my eyes look into my eyes Alfie's ears perked in surprise when a strange voice reached them. Not that he wasn't expecting an answer, well actually he was not but that wasn't what confused him. he just hadn't anticipated the direction the voice had emerged from. Blinking, he turned to face a slightly familiar looking cat. " Ah, uh, no, no I was not," the tabby mewled, giving an awkward but welcoming smile. He always enjoyed company. even if he wasn't expecting it, " but I guess I am now. so there's no point in stopping. I'm Alfie by the way. you look pretty familiar, but I don't think I can place your name," the tom said, padding slightly closer, hoping that a better inspection of the she-cat might reveal some hidden memory. Nope. She probably just lives around here, he deduced after a moment of observation and picking up a two-leg-like scent on her.
