I have a few questions about this...
I want to recycle an account (Mossy) but do something like this...
-change his name -change his appearance -change his personality -erase his history
but that's it... I really don't want to erase his former posts+post count. Is that possible?

Unfortunately Mossybelly, recycling an account includes erasing all of your desired history plus the post count. If you wish to start a new character, it will have to be from a 'kit' that grows to a warrior. The only way to retain the post count on this account would be to keep his appearance/personality/history the same and change his name, which isn't what you want.
There have been some special cases though where such a thing has happened, though it's very rare. Because of this I suggest sitting on my answer for now and waiting to see if Darkstar or one of the other leaders agrees with your request. So to answer your question, it isn't something we'd typically allow, but there have been special cases.

I will say that changing a personality is a little different. Because a personality isn't necessarily set in stone for anybody, be it on here or in real life. If you want Mossy to go from evil and mean (example, idk what he's really like), to super loving. That's fine. You MAY want to have a good explanation as to why he's changed, but you don't have to. Personality isn't fixated.
Changing names, like Spider, is also fine. If you want I can do a ceremony for that, or you can do it on your own.
Also of course for appearance you can do things like add scars or getting blinded. Things that can actually be changed through role-playing. Even greying of the muzzle as a cat gets older. Obviously adding things like stripes to a solid at isn't so good, though.
