With a grin, Redpaw exclaimed, "Hey, you smiled! I knew you had it in you." After a moment, Redpaw recalled that Pinyonpaw had mentioned she liked exploring. "Oh, I almost forgot. You said you liked exploring; I was just wondering if you'd found anyplace that you found particularly interesting," he said, his blue eyes adopting a look of curiosity.

At the outburst about her smile, Pinyonpaw instantly squeaked and ducked her head, hiding her lips behind her paws and looking fearful. But after a moment, she regained her thoughts, and soon didn't look at afraid anymore. "U-uh... I l-like exploring... just am to a-afraid to explore." she said quietly, and then looked away. "I-I don't get very f-far when I-I'm by m-myself...."

"Oh," Redpaw said simply, tilting his head to the side. "Well, if you want, I could go with you some time. The IceClan border's great, especially in the early morning," he added, smiling at Pinyonpaw. (sorry this is so short)

Pinyonpaw nodded quickly. I-it does sound n-nice.... she thought. "O-okay...." she agreed quietly. { It's fine }

Redpaw purred, happy that the timid apprentice had warmed up to him enough to agree. "Great! When would you like to go?" he asked, tilting his head to the side.

Pinyonpaw shook her head. "I-I don't know... w-w-whenever...."

Redpaw thought for a moment, his icy blue gaze clouding over as he considered what he would be doing the next few days. "Well," he said, turning back to Pinyonpaw, "we could tomorrow, if you wanted. I shouldn't be busy," he added, his grin once again appearing.

Pinyonpaw was worried once his expression changed. Was he mad now? Was he going to suddenly shout at how much of a terrible cat she was? O-or something like that... something bad?
But then he grinned again, and suggested tomorrow. Pinyon let out a soft sigh of relief. "I-I'm f-f-free tomorrow...."

Purring, Redpaw said, "Great! I can't wait, I really think you'll like it." Standing, the long-furred tom took a moment to stretch, the weak light that made it through the slits of the den's roof causing his silky pelt to shine. "Oh, and we don't have to go too early if you don't want. It's up to you," Redpaw added as he sat back down.

{ wow, totally thought I posted here. what the heck }
Pinyonpaw nodded slowly. "I-if you want to g-get up e-early, t-then we can...." she said with a light shrug of her shoulders.

"Okay," Redpaw replied with a purr, "early it is, then." Truthfully, he had hoped she wouldn't mind; though he didn't particularly like getting up early, he was certain that the enormous peaks of IceClan would become even more awe-inspiring with the first light of dawn putting the towers of rock into even deeper contrast with the plains around them.

Pinyonpaw looked at her paws, shuffling them awkwardly, and it was a few moments of silence before she sighed softly under her breath. "U-uh... I think... I s-should get s-some sleep...." she murmured. "E-early it i-is."

Redpaw nodded, only just realizing how late it had gotten. "Oh, that's probably a good idea," he replied, turning towards his own nest. "See you later!" he called, and with that, he padded over to where he'd set his moss, curling down into the soft bedding, and soon he fell asleep.

Pinyonpaw curled into her own nest, shutting her eyes tightly and willing sleep. She finally did, however, with a smile still grazing her lips and illuminated by the weak moonlight.
{ maybe a private thread for the adventure sometime? if you want me to make one, it might be awhile.... }

Leopardpaw went inside her new den, exited to be an apprentice, her heart racing as a lot of the cats in the den bigger than her. But that didn't matter, because the smaller you are, the harder you are to hit.
