Rosekit sat, back to the wall, watching other kit playing and laughing. I wish I was brave enough to be like them! she thought.

ratkit was tired, and even though he was growing, he was still struggling with surviving amongst the rest of the kittens in the clan. it was not easy to be the runt of the litter, and they tended to not even make it. on the other side, the lilac tom was a fighter. he knew that he could not give up. not when scarletfire already been through so much just to have him live even up to today. cloudclan would have to claim him some other day.

in the corner of his eye, the tom saw a lone kit watching other kittens - much larger - play some typical nursery games, whether moss ball or warriors. two things that he could possibly not do. he did not even know if he was strong enough to even make it to his apprenticeship. it would be such a miracle if that could happen.

"hi. . ." he stammered, wobbling towards the stranger.

Rosekit glanced at the kit, noticing how small it was. "Hi," she murmured, "I'm Rosekit, who are you?"

rosekit. ratkit would have to remember that name in addition to the other few that he had engraved into his small brain. "I - I'm Ratkit." he spilled out, staring at his denmate awkwardly.

    Nightkit was bored, messing around by herself was boring, nothing to do. She figured she could catch stray tails by the Warrior Den, but would probably get in trouble. Her sharp yellow eyes saw two kits by the Nursery. She padded over to them and looked at the orange and white one. She caught their names, Ratkit and Rosekit. She turned her head towards Rosekit "What'sa goin' on?" Nightkit had a bit of trouble with speaking, angling her ears back when the words sounded weird

"Hi!" Rosekit mewed, feeling more outgoing, "Wanna go play?" She quickly jumped up, puffing out her chest. "I'm really good at warriors!"

saved by nightkit. ratkit bit his tongue and rosekit responded for him. "sure! only, you'd have to teach me warriors."

"Okay!" Rosekit turned to explain the game to Ratkit. "Well, You have to pick a warrior name, Then you have battles with me!" She smiled and stood up, proudly announcing her name. "I'll be Rosethorn! Warrior of..." she trailed off, trying to think of a clan name. "Ooo! How 'bout Flowerclan!"

Okay, that sounded simple enough. Rosethorn of Flowerclan? He stuck his tongue out at such a weird clan name. "Can I be Ratface of Flowerclan?"

Sandkit looked around closing her eyes as she lay against a nice rock. 'I wish I could join them' She sighed closing her eyes.

Rosekit let out a little shriek of excitement. "Yeah! That's a great name!" She was about to pounce on Ratkit when she heard a little sigh behind her. She turned around, hitting Ratkit with her tail accidently. "Oops!" she squeaked, "Sorry!" Rosekit turned back to the other kit. "Who're you?"
