❝ little bit of humble ❞ Wildkit watched as a little wad of moss floated down towards the floor of the nursery, dashing forward at the last moment and swatting the puffball back into the air. He had been playing this game, alone, for about half the day now; it was starting to get almost painfully boring. Sighing, he continued to keep the mossball from hitting the floor while simultaneously trying to come up with something better to do.
I wonder if the warriors have time to teach me some battle moves, the tabby tom thought, taking half-a-second away from his game to glance longingly at the nursery entrance and out into camp. He highly doubted they did, and even if they did Wildkit knew he was too shy to approach them.
A gust of wind swept into the nursery, blowing the mossball off course. Blinking in surprise, the small kitten watched as the wind threw his plaything against the back of an unsuspecting cat's head. Eyes widening, Wildkit crept timidly closer to the cat he and accidentally assaulted. "Sorry 'bout that," he mewled, laughing nervously as his pale green eyes focused on his paws. ❝ little bit of cautious ❞ tags | 203 | notes WILDKIT

rowansky enjoyed sleeping. taking naps took up a good amount of time in her day, and whenever she wasn't dozing off, she was either watching over the kits or going for a short walk not even a few paces away from the nursery. the tabby didn't necessarily mind—she loved her status as a full-time mom, truly—but she was still rowansky, and she could only ever stay put in one place for a certain amount of time.
after going against a senior warrior about going for a solo fishing trip by the river, rowansky happily spent her morning soaked to the bone and testing out her rusty hunting skills. it was a nice change of pace, and by the time sunhigh had passed, the queen was energized enough to be able to go back to her usual routine.
rowansky sauntered into the nursery, smiling instinctually at the familiar noises of the young ones. "cloudclan, you guys are tiny, but you're messy!" she chuckled under her breath whilst bending down to pick up shredded pieces of moss. she was completely unaware of the projectile aimed to her head. the impact elicited a surprised squeak from the orange striped female; her green eyes caught onto the cause. it was one of her sons, wildkit. her heart swelled at the sight of him, and she purred fondly. "it's alright, fluffball. that was a good one, though." she gave him an affectionate nudge on the cheek.

❝ little bit of humble ❞ Wildkit held back a mewl of surprise as he finally noticed it was his mother he had accidentally assaulted. Man, I should really get my nose checked sometime, he thought, twitching his ear in embarrassment. If their was one person he didn't want to bother it was his mother; not because he was afraid of her or anything, but because he figured she'd be tired after dealing with kits all day. CloudClan knows Wildkit was, and he wasn't even looking after them.
"Thanks, but technically it was the wind that knocked the ball into you," he mewled, purring softly as he leaned into his mothers touch. Now that he was closer to the Queen he could pick up her scent better, catching a somewhat familiar smell on her pelt. "Did you go by the river earlier?" he asked curiously, his ear flopping to the side in a questioning manner. Wildkit thought he remembered picking up that scent on the fish as he had trotted by the fresh-kill pile the other day. The young tom didn't know for sure if that was what he was smelling on her pelt, and was more curious to know if he was right than if she had actually been to the river or not.
