@canawolf only. One other pack member can join if they want too.
Kiche padded through pack territory, keeping her head low as she ducked under the branches of the pine trees. As she walked along the border she left scent marks to warn other packs. Soon the she-wolf came to a small green clearing free of branches and bushes, outlined by tall trees. She sat down on a tree stump in the middle of the clearing and flicked her tail. The air was cool and the sky was a pleasant orange-pink color. It was dawn, and Kiche decided this was the best time to teach so they could avoid the summer heat.
She was the lead hunter of the pack and was assigned a new trainee - a young female pup name Cana. Kiche lifted her head to she sky and howled softly, sumoning her apprentice and then waited patiently.

Cana had been snoozing in the camp when she heard her new mentor--Kiche, summon her. suddenly less tired, she shot up and sped towards the source of the howl.
Once she'd arrived, she scampered quickly over to Kiche. "Hello, Kiche!" she greeted her with a woof. It felt nice out, and it was indeed cool. Glad she'd chosen such a day to train her, she was determined to give her training everything she had.

Kiche wagged her tail as Cana arrived in the clearing. "Hello dear" she woofed, and jumped off the tree stump. "Now" she looked at her apprentice "Tell me what you know about your pack. Tell me who our members are." Kiche instructed. She was determined to morph this pup into the most skilled wolf in the forest. They would start with the mental stuff, but soon enough they would begin hunting and fighting training, as soon as Kiche thought Cana was ready for it.

Cana paused uncertainly. The tan she-wolf had asked her to name all of the wolves in her pack, aka all of their members. [excluding Tulip] Clearing her throat, she woofed, "Luna- the female Alpha, Noire - the pack Beta, Waterfall - the pack herbalist..." she trailed off, then practically face-planted, then added, "You--Kiche, the lead huntress, and me, the only pup." She'd just then realized how small her pack was, and frowned. "You won't leave our pack right, Kiche?" she asked a pout forming on her face, eyes widening. Since Cana was an abandoned pup, Kiche, in her eyes, appeared as a role - model, or even a mother.

Kiche nodded. "That's right. These are the wolves who you will grow up with, who will protect you and keep you company. Remember that. We're not big yet, but between us we're skilled, and I think we can go places."
"Luna, she's fierce, and a great leader. Noire is brave, and will take over if anything happens to our alpha. Waterfall is one of the kindest wolves you will know, and an experienced medic. If you're ever hurt, or just need advice, go see her. And then there's me. I'm the most experienced hunter, but I couldn't do it alone."
"And as for you.." Kiche woofed softly "we'll see where exactly you fit in, depending on how you do in training." She looked at her apprentice tenderly. "Of course I'm not going anywhere! Not soon, anyway. I am loyal to this pack, and first I must make sure you are fully trained for all the hardships to come." Kiche's ears flattened and her fur fluffed up in anger. "You probably know we've been having some trouble with another pack. The Shadow Dwellers. In these dark times, we need to be smart. And strong." She sighed. "Just promise me you'll stay safe, okay?" She cared for Cana like she was her own pup, and did not want to see her get hurt. The Shadow Dwellers were a slightly bigger pack, but that did not necessarily make them stronger. Many of their members were either lacking in battle skills or did not play an active role within their pack, so Kiche was certain the Artemis Scouts could win. Especially once she taught Cana her fighting skills.
"Since there might be a war between our packs, we're going to start with battle training. Then, we'll move on to hunting and I'll show you the territory. Sound good?" Kiche asked, flicking her brown fluffy tail.

Cana was relieved when Kiche told her she intended to stay. Though, when she was told there might be a war with another pack, her eyes widened. She knew her
pack was smart, and they were growing stronger.
As she was asked to stay safe, it was comforting, and she offered a wag of her fluffy tail. "All right, I promise I will!" she woofed. And the mention of battle training had her excited. She wanted to impress her pack, while keeping it safe from the opposing, enemy pack.

Cana oh my goodness sorry this is so late!! I have been really busy with school and friends, I promise I will be active!

Kiche nodded. The outbreak of war was edging closer, so they would have to hurry to get as much battle training as possible. She would have to speed things up a little by postponing hunting training, and focusing completely on fighting instead.
"Ok, time for battle training. Don't be too worried though: fighting is already in your instincts as a wolf, it should come naturally as you grow. Basically I'm just here to guide you and make sure you reach your full potential."
Kiche looked at Cana. She seemed like a strong she-wolf and would surely make a good fighter.
"Ok, so. There are two factors which can determine the winner of a fight....physical attributes and strategy. If you have both, you will not be losing very often. The physical part comes as you grow. The strategy part depends on experience and intelligence, and I'll teach you as much as I know. But for now, you just need to know the weak spots."
"The throat, neck, chest, stomach and ears. Target these areas and protect yourself, especially your stomach! You need to attack first, before you are attacked. Put pressure on your opponent, so they are focused on defending themselves instead of hurting you. When you learn how to do this, you will dominate. "
Kiche crouched down in front of her apprentice, ready for her to make a move. "First rule of warfare, never let your confidence waver...don't hold back, attack me!!"

It's fine, that's totally understandable; I'm not entirely active either!
She gave a brief nod of her head. Yes, the war was close, and she felt unprepared... but she trusted her mentor to train her to her full potential.
Wha -- attack her? She flinched, then paused. Kiche's words rang in her head, 'never let your confidence waver!'
Cana shook her head, then dug her paws into the ground, running towards her mentor, then lunged, paws outstretched. I can do this!

Kiche saw her apprentice lunge for her and nodded approvingly. Cana was fast and Kiche sidestepped just in time, aiming a gentle swipe to the side of her head as she went past. She hoped her apprentice would retaliate quickly to not waste time. "Remember to keep attacking and keep the pressure on me!" Kiche barked. "Try to keep your paws on the ground most of the time, since it's very difficult to move yourself in the air and can leave you exposed to your enemy.
"And don't be afraid to use anything you've got - teeth, claws, weight, even your surroundings. You could kick dirt in my eyes!"

Her mentor managed to get away, which didn't surprise Cana, and landed a soft blow to the side of her head while escaping.
She stopped in her tracks. Kick dirt in her eyes?! She didn't want to hurt Kiche! It had been the second time her mentor'd reassured her though; maybe it was okay to do.
Strength wasn't her strongest suit, but she had her speed to her advantage. Moving away from Kiche before she could waste more time, she darted to left, and ran towards Kiche, only to stop, then dart to her right side. If she couldn't attack head-on, maybe feigning would do her a favor?

Kiche stayed low to the ground, as Cana confused her by running left and right. She noted that this strategy worked well for her, since her speed was [currently] her strongest point. She was glad that her apprentice was taking the initiative to use a strategy suited for her. If Cana was fast enough, she could avoid taking damage in a real battle, which would be a huge advantage for tiring out her opponent.
Her muscles tensing as Cana switched directions, she decided to take the opportunity to counter attack. Kiche barreled towards Cana to slam into her, but more gently than if it had been a real fight.

Her technique(of sorts) seemed to be doing her a favor, but it didn't last for long, though that didn't surprise her considering her mentor probably had tons of practice(full-grown).
She was caught off guard as Kiche launched herself in Cana's direction and her eyes widened. Yelping, she jumped to the side, but her foot was still caught in the midst of her leap, causing Cana to face-plant into the ground. Not only was she fast, but she was clumsy; it wasn't something she was proud of, but it wasn't something she could prevent, either.
"Oomph." Cana grunted as she fell face-first into the ground. More frustrated with herself than anything, she shot up from where she lay almost immediately, flushed. "Sorry." she managed after a moment.
