Batkit fancied himself as someone with an average intelligence, and a quirky, if occasionally vague demeanor. That was why he was anticipating quite a few friends to speak of, to add to his little family. If he introduced some friends to his fathers, well perhaps they would be proud, and perhaps they would smile at him. He found himself quite liking that idea; and so today would be a good day to start looking for friends.
Stepping from his nest, the pale calico tom looking about for someone of interest to talk to. "Speech test one. Someone respond."

❝ little bit of humble ❞ Wildkit shifted himself so that he sunk deeper into the warm moss of his nest, wondering what he should do for the day. He wasn't the most social kitten, and with no friends to play with (aside from his mother), he was left with very little to do.
Maybe I could sneak out of camp? he thought, although he knew he would never really do such a thing, I'm sure nobody'll be too mad if I just stay really close to the camp-wall.
A voice broke Wildkit's thoughts, and he looked up to see that a pale calico had stepped from his nest. Who's he? the he thought, tipping his ruffled head to the side. Thinking that this might be a chance to actually do something today, even if it was just talking to another kit, the light ginger tom answered.
"Wildkit responding," the tabby tom mewled. As Wildkit rolled onto his paws he congratulated himself for not sounding as timid as he usually was. Maybe it was this constant boredom that was giving him confidence. ❝ little bit of cautious ❞ tags | 190 | notes WILDKIT

i must become a lionheart "Recognized Wildkit, friend or foe?" Batkit rattled off, trying to curb his excitement. His words had been an open invitation, but he hadn't necessarily expected anyone to respond.
Ears flicking forward, he did a cursory analysis of the figure he was perhaps prematurely labeling a friend. So, Wildkit, was it? A good name, and hopefully a good friend. "Name's Batkit."

❝ little bit of humble ❞ "Friend, hopefully," Wildkit mewled, a timidly crooked smile creeping onto his features. Although, I'm not quite sure what being a friend implies, he added to himself. It would sound weird to say aloud-- and, seeing as he had just met the tom-kit, Wildkit wasn't completely confident that his new friend wouldn't laugh at his inexperience in the field of personal connections.
The tabby focused fully back on the conversation he was having, resisting the tempting urge to shake his head physically in an attempt to rid himself of any unsettling thoughts.
The young tom stretched now that he was safely supported on all fours, letting his spiky tail unfurl then fall limp.
"It's nice to meet you, Batkit," Wildkit dipped his head casually, more out of habit than an attempt to be formal, "I'm Wildkit, but, er-- well I guess you probably already guessed that," the kitten gave a sheepish chuckle as the skin under his pelt became slightly heated in embarrassment of his little slip up. ❝ little bit of cautious ❞ tags | 181 | notes WILDKIT

i must become a lionheart Batkit's smile widened as he padded towards the other tom. "Noted." He felt a buzz of excitement. They were both searching for this positive relationship deemed 'friendship'. Unless one of them suddenly committed untoward murder or something of the like, there was no way they could mess this up! Positivity was practically flowing through the calico.
Batkit chuckled, a crooked smile hanging off his face in amusement. Wildkit was helping to relax him, even if he didn't know it, by appearing so nervous. "I might have guessed," he teased in response, tail flicking once before curling around his small paws. Then a silence fell and he faltered slightly. "Sooooo, friendship, huh? Can we just say friends and get it over with? I'm sorry but I haven't been informed on any kind of ritual or ceremony to perform to solidify it."

❝ little bit of humble ❞ Wildkit shifted his paws at the calico's teasing, looking down bashfully at the nursery floor, although a smile still pulled at the corner of his mouth as he listened intently while Batkit spoke.
"F-Friends?" Wildkit's head jerked up and his pale eyes blinked a few times before a dorky grin slipped in his face, "yeah. Friends. I'd like that," he mewed, his blonde ears twitching in a happy manner.
My first friend! he thought merrily, letting his spiky tail thump on the nursery floor slightly; much like a dog's would.
"And, well, I guess I haven't really heard of any sort of "friend ritual" either ... We could make one if you wan?. Or, maybe not. That was probably a lame idea. Just-- yeah, just ignore that," the tabby rambled, flicking his gaze self-consciously between Batkit and the floor. ❝ little bit of cautious ❞ tags | 152 | notes WILDKIT

i must become a lionheart Well then, that was settled and Batkit felt much better for it. Who knew making friends was so easy? He'd set out with an objective and had completed it, and now made the executive decision to allocate the rest of the day to free time....with his friend. Still felt strange to think on. "Friend Wildkit," Batkit reiterated, and equally pleased grin sloshing across his face. "I like that."
Fancifully, Batkit imagined he and Wildkit going on grand adventures, saving the clan, finding the cure to a great plague. These were the kind of things friends did, right? At least when they weren't sharing food or protecting the clan. All he had to go off were dreams, and the glimpses he'd caught of warriors, and his fathers. "It's probably a highly confidential friend secret," Batkit intoned, nodding wisely, though he really had no idea himself. His facade broke quickly and the calico descended into laughter. "No way, let's do it! It'll be a test of our friendship!" Batkit cried, latching onto the idea. "What do you think? Blood sacrifice? Observe an animal mating ritual? Maybe something a little less extreme?" Laughing again, he gestured for Wildkit to take the lead, sure none of his ideas were going to be accepted.

❝ little bit of humble ❞ Wildkit's ears twitched happily in agreement, his blonde tabby tail continuing to sweep across the nursery floor behind him and his pale eyes practically glowing as he listened to Batkit speak. He had actually liked his idea? That was new, most cats usually dismissed or ignored Wildkit's rambling. Although this was probably because usually when the tom rambled he kept his muzzle facing the floor and his voice barley above a whisper. The tabby's movement's froze when he heard what the other tom was suggesting though, and his green eyes widened as they fixated on his new friend. Just what exactly was going through this kitten's mind? Shaking his head in attempt to clear his mind, Wildkit focused on the question at hand.
"Yeah, we might wan't to keep a low profile ... Who knows, they're might be an anti-friend league out there that'll try to separate us if we do anything too drastic," the pale ginger tabby then unconsciously kinked his tail-tip thoughtfully, "although ... that blood sacrifice idea didn't sound too bad. Have you ever had fresh-kill before?" Wildkit tipped his head curiously to the side. He hadn't had real fresh-kill before, but he would be lying if he said that he hadn't been eyeing the pile of prey lately. Anyways, there was actually a point to asking Batkit if he had or hadn't eaten fresh-kill before. Probably. ❝ little bit of cautious ❞ tags | 242 | notes WILDKIT

She shouldn't be here. She knew it, and she felt it. Though the males may disagree. The small female sat down a distance away and let her head lower and eyes lock on the ground. She decided not to speak and wait. Wanting to be accepted and knowing others wouldn't like you made things hard. Sighing, the girl slowly lay on the ground and blinked.

i must become a lionheart Batkit froze a little when Wildkit appeared taken aback by his suggestions. Maybe the mating ritual was a little too much? At that he'd half expected the other tom to run for cover. If he had though, Batkit definitely would have been disappointed. After all, if Wildkit couldn't handle him at his wildest, he didn't deserve him at his best. Or something like that.
His lip curled at the suggestion that anyone would ever dare tear them apart. "That's the kind of devious thinking that will make us friends forever!" He declared. "Secrecy is key, lest this other organisation discover our goals." He'd heard of two kit brothers going around praying to Darkpool recently. Perhaps they were part of the evil organisation. He'd have to do some research.
Batkit drew in a breath to speak, then abruptly choked on it when Wildkit actually accepted one of his crazy suggestions. Of course in a much milder capacity than what he'd suggested it in, but he'd take what he could get. "No, I haven't. Funny thing is, I was saving it for a special occasion." He was almost bashful admitting this; who saved a meal for a special occasion? Though it seemed to pay off. His ear flickered momentarily when something off to the side seemed to sigh, but since it wasn't interrupting his conversation with Wildkit, he paid it no mind. "You want to do it now?"
- Spottedkit, you're welcome to post with us, but generally if you want to join a thread you need to contribute to what is already there. In your post you didn't interact with Wildkit or Batkit at all, so there is very little either of us can do in reply for you -
