Dappledpaw noticed the she-cat's eyes flicker when she'd mentioned her unfinished assessment. She'd learned to read other cats a fair amount, during her short-lived life, especially their eyes. She loved the stories they told. What was Silverpaw's?
Nodding softly, Dappledpaw replied, "Yeah... me too, and that's kind of you to say." The road to from kit-hood to warrior felt so short. Her friends were never active around anymore. It made her sad to know she'd been becoming a warrior without them. Her life felt sort of empty... and she couldn't help but frown. Maybe that's why she thought being a warrior was any use.

Silverpaw looked at the frowning she-cat and felt a little sad. She knew that Dappledpaw had to be thinking about her kit-hood. She hoped that when she grew up, she would look back and have no regrets, and yet look forward with anticipation. "Well, I hope you finish it soon. Then I'll get to say that I'm friends with a warrior!" Even as Silverpaw tried to lighten the mood, she wondered if she had offended Dappledpaw by calling her a friend.
(Sorry I can't write well today!)

Dappledpaw couldn't help but grin at the she-cat's words; "Then I'll get to say I'm friends with a warrior!" At least she'd made another friend along the way. She felt as if she were expanding her circle, her 'conversing' circle. Maybe she was afraid of becoming a warrior on her own, because she was always relying on her two friends from kit-hood; Oakpaw and Rabbitpaw.
[It's fine x3]

Silverpaw heaved a sigh of relief at Dappledpaw's answering grin. She seemed fine with the idea of being friends with Silverpaw, a fact that Silverpaw knew she mustn't take for granted. After all, she currently probably had about the same number of enemies as friends. Silverpaw shifted uncertainly on her paws, unsure of how to continue the conversation. They had seemingly exhausted all the usual topics that cats would talk about on their first meeting. Well, now that they were friends, Silverpaw supposed that she had no need to feel awkward around Dappledpaw. But still she was. "So, do you need to go or anything? Not that I want you to go!" Silverpaw added on hurriedly, cringing at the sheer awkwardness of that statement.

Dappledpaw made her best effort the hide her grin, but in the end, she couldn't. Why was she acting awkward? They were friends, right? To be fair though, she had just met the she-cat; her reaction was only normal, as she probably would've been more awkward too, had she not grown up with the kits she did.
"No, not yet." Dappledpaw replied, then thought only for a brief moment. What could they do? Surely they could leave the camp without warriors, right? She wasn't going to be an apprentice much longer, what was the harm...?
"Well," she said, giving a devilish grin. They could hunt(and stuff) together! Surely no harm could come from adding a little extra prey to the fresh-kill pile, right? "Would you like to go hunting?" Swimming was also optional; her friend, Oakpaw, had just recently taught her how to swim, and she found it quite enjoyable. Maybe Silverpaw would too.
[Ugh, still no muse, it's dead[if there ever was one] I'm pretty drained considering I wrote a novel - regarding my assessment]

Silverpaw dipped her head in agreement. She hadn't had many training sessions, so she doubted that she would catch much prey. Still, it couldn't hurt to try! The last time she had tried hunting, she had fallen face-first into the river, overbalancing and scaring away all the prey in the vicinity, She hoped that she wouldn't repeat that ill-fated tumble. Even though she loved swimming, she was horrible at catching fish. She much preferred hunting on dry land! She was way better at catching voles and mice than fish anyways. Padding out of camp, she spoke to Dappledpaw," Where do you want to hunt? I wouldn't mind swimming, but I much prefer hunting on land. Still, I really do need to brush up on my fishing. Sunfish is going to be really mad if I still can't catch fish!"
(It's alright! Your little novel was scarily long)

She grinned softly as the she-cat continued on and on about fishing problems. Well... perhaps Dappledpaw could teach this cat a couple things! Helping was something she loved to do, even if it wasn't all that evident.
"Well, I wouldn't mind teaching you to fish!" she exclaimed. Her mentor, Maplefrost, had been a very good teacher; all things considered though, he was an elder. He probably knew everything! Well - almost everything - although she was later take that into consideration. Still, hopefully the she-cat wouldn't mind fishing; it was really fun once you learned how to do it properly!

Silverpaw grinned at Dappledpaw. She would love to learn how to fish better! She knew that she had to master it to be a true IceClan cat. I just hope I won't embarrass myself in front of Dappledpaw. Then again, we are friends now. Learning to laugh at myself is probably something I should learn. As long as Dappledpaw doesn't mind teaching me. "Thanks! I would love it if you taught me! Just beware of my dangerous flips into the water!" Laughing softly at the memory of her first accidental backflip, she padded towards the river.

Dappledpaw was glad to be teaching; she always was. Smiling lightly, she padded closely to the edge of the cool stream, then gestured for the silver she-cat to join her. "Copy me." she mewed, then moved back, keeping her shadow away from the surface, making her presence unaware to anything beneath it.

Silverpaw attempted to copy the crouch shown by Dappledpaw. She settled into a comfortable position beside the stream and moved her body, angling it to keep her shadow off the surface of the river. Of course! So that's what I keep forgetting to do! No wonder I never catch anything. Silverpaw looked questioningly to Dappledpaw for approval, being careful to hold her position. She kept one eye on the lake, alert for any fish that might swim by.

She gave a firm nod. She was getting the hang of it, great! She was glad the silver she-cat realized how important it was to hide your shadow, even if you were under one(like a large tree).
"That's good." she said, nodding her head in approval. She paused. She was like a mentor now, it freaked her out, but she knew she could handle the responsibility. She shook her head softly, to clear her head, then sat next to Silverpaw, and watched the surface with her. She didn't intend to catch anything yet, though. She would see if Silverpaw was capable just yet.

Silverpaw smiled at the praise. Watching the river's surface, she suddenly saw a shadow dart across it. A fish! Being careful to keep her weight off her paw, she reached forward and attempted to snag the prey with unsheathed claws. But she was just a second too late, and the fish darted out of her reach. Mouse-dung! I could have had that one! Looking up at Dappledpaw, she briefly wondered if the cat was laughing at her. Well, it couldn't be helped. Silverpaw returned her gaze to the river's surface, staring intently at it. She waited patiently and, after a short while, another shadow appeared. Darting forward, she grabbed the fish and flipped it onto shore, against a rock. To make doubly sure that the fish was dead, she bit its neck in the same way she would for a mouse, not sure if that was the proper way to kill fish. Yes! My first fish! The prey must be running well today. Thanking CloudClan for the kill, she looked back at Dappledpaw.

Dappledpaw watched as Silverpaw missed her first fish. That wasn't a problem! She would learn from her mistakes, there was really no shame in making a couple mistakes.
She smiled, proud, as the the she-cat caught a fish a short while later. She nodded approvingly as she flipped(slammed) the fish against a rock, then bit it. Biting it wasn't really necessary, since the impact of the rock itself would kill it almost immediately, but she chose not to mention it. She would get the hang of it soon; patience was the key.
"Good job, Silverpaw!" she exclaimed, eyes gleaming, and she'd thanked CloudClan for the kill, that was good. She felt strangely proud, and felt herself slipping into a mentor's position. She looked forward to having her first apprentice. "Would you like to head back to camp now and show off your kill?" she said in a joking manner(while gesturing with her tail in the direction of their camp), most cats didn't boast anyways.
[Would this be a could thread ending? I have a ceremony soon anyways, AND regarding your character's mistake: that's good! Cats who are perfect and make no mistakes are boring! ]

Silverpaw flicked her tail in joy and pride, and nodded to Dappledpaw. Blushing a little at Dappledpaw's joke, she carried the fish back to camp. It had been a good day for her, and she looked forward to speaking with the other cat again. Maybe Dappledpaw would be an a warrior by then!
(Sure! And thanks for that.)
