"Really? I mean I guess if your mother wanted this life for you then she figured you could handle it here. You'll be fine in time. You are only an apprentice. Get to warrior then judge things then. Once you have more freedom then you'll know whether or not you truly dislike this place." He shrugged.
"Reasonable enough?"

Adder bared his teeth slightly. "I've got a good sense of it now, thanks. Being young doesn't mean I'm blind. Training other cats, patrolling some stupid scent lines, feeding other cats… what's the point? I don't owe anything to anyone here, and I don't care about them either. No thanks."

"Well.. You do owe them for the shelter you are provided the food you eat, the lessons and skills you learn. I think that you should be just a little bit grateful. The life of a loner and rogue, etc is tough. Most of them usually go hungry often, most nights. I'm sure you'd come right back here if you left." He shrugged.
"This place isn't so bad."

And… yep. That did it. The ex-rogue flared right up again, flattening his ears and hissing. "What are you, daft? Rogues look after themselves! They hunt alone, sleep alone, learn alone. You might be weak and reliant upon your Clan, but I'm sure not. Speak for yourself."

"Tch... You are but an apprentice! You wouldn't make it out there alone. If you leave, at least wait till your older!" He spat. Sunfish's tail lashed. "Don't talk yourself up so highly. Those areas are horrid and who says working together has to be a negative?" He rolled his eyes.
"Jeez."

"What're you talking about? Younglings survive on their own all the time! It's a lot better than depending on some huge group for your whole life," Adder snarled. There was a hint of taunt in his tone - this warrior seemed as sheeplike as all the others. Could Sunfish make it without the support of the cats he was used to relying on?
He was sorely tempted to take another swipe at Sun. Instead, the apprentice turned around and stalked across camp without another word, disappearing inside his den. Adderpaw got the feeling this wasn't the last encounter they'd have.
