Frostkit was watching from a corner of camp as the other kits played. She wasn't a particularly excitable kit, and often didn't feel like joining in the rowdy kit games, preferring instead to sit and watch, or talk to some other cat. Seeing a kit pad out of the nursery yawning, she walked over and greeted the cat, remembering her from another day. She didn't seem like too rowdy a cat, so Frostkit supposed that she could grow to like this cat. "Hi, I'm Frostkit! I've seen you before. Are you Sandkit?"
(I hope you don't mind continuing the thread now that you are an apprentice)

Frostkit dipped her head in reply. In truth, she hadn't really gotten much sleep in the last few days. She kept having recurring nightmares of being left out of games by the other kits and all. She hoped that would never happen in real life. "I'm not too tired anyways." Frostkit mewed, hiding her exhaustion. She glanced up in the direction that Sandkit was looking at. "The sky's beautiful, isn't it?" She had always loved the tale of the CloudClan cats protecting the cats in the forest and mountains, like a queen with her kits. It made her feel watched over, even with the dark parts of stories mentioning Darkpool.

Frostkit smiled warmly at Sandkit. She didn't know the two cats the other kit had mentioned, but looked forward to meeting them. They seemed like great cats. "Sure! What would you like to play? I don't really know the rules of protect the clan... You'll have to explain them." Frostkit mewed, slightly ashamed of her ignorance in kit matters. She had always been a mature kit, and had quite often been left out of or chose not to join the kit games for fear of being laughed at. Sandkit seemed mature too though, and Frostkit had a feeling that the other kit would not laugh at her.

Frostkit nodded in acknowledgement and settled into a crouch too. This game seemed fun enough. She wondered if she would ever become the deputy in real life, or even the leader. How she would love to do that! But back to the game. Seeing the moss ball coming towards her, she let out a mock growl of anger and pounced on the moss ball, sinking into it with her tiny but sharp claws. Rolling towards Sandkit, she jumped off the ball and yowled,"Take that badger! Sandstar, finish it off!"

Frostkit let out a battle cry and leapt at the badger. She was quite pleased that Sandkit had let her finish it off. Shredding the moss ball with her claws, she bit sharply onto the moss ball and tossed it aside, yowling in victory. "Run, filthy badger, and never come back!" Hearing Sandkit's report, she ran to a tiny shrub growing near by and nipped a few leaves off it. Frostkit looked at the leaves and shrugged. She had no idea what they were. Chewing the leaves into a pulp like she had seen the medicine cats do, she raced back to the rock and plastered the pulp on the little kit. "There, the kit's fine now. RockClan is strong!" Frostkit mewed loudly.

Frostkit bowed back to Sandkit. Maybe she had made her first friend! It was amazing to Frostkit. She seemed a brave and kind cat, with how she thought of helping the kits. Most kits would simply revel over the defeat of the badger. "You already are an amazing leader, Sandstar. The camp and kits thank you." Frostkit mewed in respect. Even though it was only a game, Sandkit's personality shone through.
(So sorry for the late reply! I've been quite busy)

Frostkit nodded as she heard Sandkit's words. They were wise, the words of a cat far older than Sandkit was. Sandkit would make a great leader someday. She knew what had to be done, and would do it unflinchingly for her clan. "But I suppose if we need help from another clan, we must ask for it. You're right, the kits must come first, before even our pride." Frostkit mewed back. Flicking an ear at Sandkit, she wondered what they would do next.

Frostkit beamed at the compliment. Sandkit too was amazing. No kit she knew had the warrior code memorised by heart yet! Frostkit assumed that that was okay. After all, the warrior code was simply a guide. Any cat should always do what they feel is right, even if it meant breaking the code. But the particular rule that Sandkit had recited rang true in her mind. "And you would be the wisest, Sandstar. What now? Would you like to do something else?"

Frostkit nodded swiftly and settled into her own hunter's crouch. Not too long ago, Sandkit had taught her how to do it properly, and she felt a hint of pride that she had remembered that lesson. Stalking towards the moss ball, she suddenly pounced, leaping onto it and biting. Which ended up being a horrible choice as she got a mouthful of moss. Spitting it out, she turned to see if Sandkit had had slightly more success than her. Hopefully she didn't see that blunder.

Dropping her "prey" on the pile beside Sandkit's, she smiled softly. It had always been her dream to help her clan, and maybe others. After all, if another clan was starving, could she bear to refuse them some of the food that her clan had. She knew that it probably wouldn't come to that, but it was an interesting thought. She chose to voice that concern out to Sandkit ,curious as to what the other kit would think. "That's good. The elders and the kits always come first. I was just wondering, the warrior code speaks of helping kits from other clans. I wonder if we could help the warriors of other clans as well. If they were starving, would we give prey to help them?" Idly, she recalled an additional rule in the code, stating that in times of strife, clans would join together. Maybe that was what she was looking for.

Frostkit dipped her head at Sandkit's answer. It was wise and logical. Seeing Sandkit scent the air, Frostkit opened up her own mouth and breathed in deeply. She couldn't scent a thing beyond cats! What in the world was Sandkit scenting? Frostkit deferred to the older kit and asked, "What is it?"

Frostkit opened her jaw slightly wider and breathed in again. It seemed to her as if the clan had suddenly come alive. She had never really taken the time to scent the clan before, and now that she had actually tried it, she could clearly scent the different scents around. She couldn't scent anything different though. "Hmm, neither can I. What now then? I almost wish something would happen. This clan is boring." Frostkit whined, an uncharacteristic move for her.

Frostkit sighed along with Sandkit. It certainly did seem that way. RockClan had never really had that much excitement. It seemed very self-contained and quiet. But Frostkit supposed that it was a blessing in disguise. It would be in fact pretty horrible if a war actually did break out among the clans. "Yeah, I suppose it's because RockClan is so tiny. But really, I don't want too much excitement. War would be horrible."

Frostkit nodded in return to Sandkit. It was true that war would be interesting, and she supposed that it would be a tradeoff between the interest of it and the pain that it might bring. Shaking herself to get rid of those dark thoughts, she turned to Sandkit and shrugged. "That's true. I suppose that there are many ways of looking at it." She meowed softly.
