The female sat down at the edge of the river. A yawn escaped her maw and she looked at the sky. The beauty soon lay down and closed her eyes. Ignoring the rumble in her belly. it had been a few moons sense she last ate. Sighing, she ignored the loneliness that ate at her. Ever sense her mother, Crimsonsong, had died. Well, she had been so lonely. The silent day made that feeling all the worse.

Another loner. She certainly was good at finding them.
Painne of the Shadow Dwellers trotted along the river, her bi-colored eyes looking over the female in a wary gaze. She didn't know whether this was friend or foe, but perhaps starting off with a horrible greeting wasn't the best way to meet someone. She at least had to put some effort into being a better wolf, even if she was apart of a murderous pack.
Coming closer to the wolf, she stopped a few tail-lengths away and offered a small dip of her head. "You new around here?" she barked calmly.
{ I seriously wouldn't mind Painne having a friend :3 }

((She could use a best friend as she is alone, she has been around a long time, but I only ever posted twice with her.))
Remembering her mothers teachings, the she-wolf stood and turned to face this wolf. Eyes locked on the wolf and then it dawned on her. She was alone. If things went bad, Hawkuro at least stood a chance. "To this part of the world, yes. I was born in a different place." She replied before looking about for a moment. Then, her gaze fixed on the female. "I was a Riveraipack member. Back in the Days of Crimsonsong and Blizzard. My parents and pack alphas." She adds calmly.

Painne registered the words and repeated them, before swiftly dipping her head. "I wasn't born here, either. My parents were from two different packs and broke the rules to have me... though I wasn't exactly wanted in the first place." she felt she had to at least talk about herself a bit to break the ice. Even if she hadn't determined if this wolf was friend or foe. "But my name is Painne. I'm from the Shadow Dwellers Pack. We're a bit... hostile, in a way."
{ bff wolves, yus~! <3 }

Hostile? Her ears perked and she smirked at this. Her body relaxed a bit and she nodded. "I see. I'm sorry that happened to you. All pups should be wanted. Anyways. This pack, is hostile, huh? Sounds more my speed." The girl gave a devilish grin and then it was gone. "I'm Hawkuro. Or Hawk for short. It's nice to meet you." She adds in a friendly way.

Painne had shrugged her shoulders at Hawk's words, and yet a spark of interest lit up her good green eye when the she-wolf commented on her Pack. Offering a knowing smirk, Painne gestured her head towards the direction of the Shadow Dwellers territory. "Your welcomed to join us. We could use a steady claw in the coming war. And as I'm an Elite, I can put in a good word to Alpha. What do you say?" Somehow, she already liked this wolf.

"I'm a fighter by nature. So a pack like this, ode love a crack at it." She grinned as she stood and looked about them at the darkening forest. "Care to join me on a night hunt, Painne?" She offers, her eyes friendly and yet a playful hint to them. "I'm sure you can out hunt me, so maybe I can learn a few moves."

Painne was happy to have another ally in the Shadow Dwellers, but she was caught off guard when Hawk offered a night hunt. Truthfully, friendly hunting--or bonding, if you wanted to go that far--wasn't exactly a common practice in her pack. Sure, she was familiar with her packmates... and of course trusted them in the upcoming war. But she wouldn't go as far as asking for a group hunt or pair training. It was almost a small, hidden rule in the Shadow Dwellers... of independence... but there was no reason for the bonding thing when they were already connected by their need to make things bleed and answer to blood-thirsty instincts.
Anyway, back to the topic at paw... Painne assumed it wouldn't be the worst experience to accept. "Sure," she murmured, though with that guarded tone she wore so well returning. A night hunt with a stranger... somehow, she wasn't as suspicious as she usually was. Was she already considering befriending this wolf?
She almost wanted to call herself sick. As if she, Painne, could ever have a friend... her personality and quick-temper almost forbade it.

"Come on then." She said with a slow wag of her tail. Turning, she would head up the river until she slowed near some stepping stones. Turning, she bound across the stones and stopped as if she felt like she was home. "This is where my old pack roamed. There are moose and elk here." She says as she nods towards a huge bull moose further along, grazing on the fresh grass.

Painne followed close behind while also sniffing the air for any scent of prey. "Oh. So your pack wasn't too far from the Shadow Dwellers, then?" she thought allowed.

"No. It wasn't far from them. But it was so small and stealthy, we were never noticed." She admits before crouching and slipping silently through the reeds. Her paws were placed carefully, and yet swiftly.

Painne nodded slowly, though there was a nagging feeling at the back of her mind. A stealthy pack so close to home... it wasn't a good sign, that much she knew. Did her Alpha know of it? Heh, what a dumb question. Alpha knows everything. she scoffed to herself. "I hope you know what kind of pack I'm in." Painne said slowly, an insane smile slowly etching its way on her lips. "The Shadow Dwellers are a bit more than hostile, Hawk. Our members are driven by bloodlust more than anything. Most of us have pasts we rather not share, but above all have tainted us in a much darker way than the average wolf." The brown-and-black Elite paused for a moment before going on. "All wolves go through hardships that shape their personality and future. But most of us in the Shadow Dwellers suffered more... direct pain. Or, caused it, in some cases." Did Hawk see the look in her green eye that signified the she-wolf following her had been in that category of 'direct pain causers'? Because, if she did, Painne couldn't help but smile more. Will she run away in fear? Fight me? Hmm, I wonder....
