Question about nonclan cats joining clans

So... Regardless of age of said loner/rogue/kittypet do they always become an apprentice upon joining a clan or do adults join as warriors??

Like I have a loner character who I roleplay as 12 moons old, which is like an adult, right? That's kinda the age warriors clanborn cats are supposed to be when they're new warriors, right? Would my loner have to be an apprentice who's just kind of... Big?

I'm honestly not sure there's a super set in stone thing. I think for the most part when someone joins a Clan they go to the rank that corresponds to their post count. If I had to explain it lore-wise I'd say that a Clan leader probably wouldn't let a random loner be a warrior immediately, and would force them to train as an apprentice regardless of age just to make sure they're ready for Clan life.
