Walking to the apprentice den thinking I wonder if i 'all make any friends here too and I hope someone can help me

Noticing movement near the entrance to the den, Redpaw lifted his head, interrupting his grooming for a moment. As his icy gaze adjusted to the light streaming through the opening, the tom noticed the outline of a cat. After a moment of thought, Redpaw realized he didn't recognize the cat, and so he called out, "Can I help you?"

"Nice to meet you, Spiritpaw. I'm Redpaw," the ruddy tom announced, standing up to greet the younger apprentice. "It's good that you met me first. I'm kind of a big deal around here," he added, his icy blue gaze flashing mischievously, and he grinned at the she-cat to let her know he wasn't being serious. "So, how's apprentice life treating you so far?"

"Ah, well, I try," Redpaw replied, his ready grin slipping onto his face once again. "And don't mention it," he added cheerfully. "So, Spiritpaw, who's your mentor?" the tom asked, happy to get to know a new cat.

Redpaw nodded politely; he didn't know the warrior, but the name sounded familiar. "So, how have you liked training so far?" the icy-eyes tom asked, sitting down once again and curling his tail around his front paws.

"Oh, okay. Well, have you taken your territory tour yet?" Redpaw asked, thinking back to his own, which put a barely perceptible grimace- a rare expression for the upbeat tom- on his face. His own tour hadn't gone all that well.

She really is new, Redpaw thought, giving the she-cat another cursory glance. "Hmm," the tom rumbled, to himself more than to Spiritpaw, then, more clearly, he added, "Well, Spiritpaw, what do you like to do, if you don't mind me asking?"
