The roof was leaking again. Rosepaw flinched when a droplet splashed on his nose. He sneezed, face scrunching up. It had been the third time that night that the den's ceiling hadn't stood against the heavy downpour outside. The dilute tortoiseshell sighed but tried to keep an upbeat expression nonetheless. The exhaustion of getting woken up was annoying, yet either way, someone needed to fix the roof. The tom was drenched to the bone by the time he was above the den, a wad of moss in his jaws. He set on repairing the damage caused by the rain. Rosepaw failed to notice a particularly weak area. The moment his weight rested even slightly on it, Rosepaw yelped as the surface beneath him gave way to nothing - then the floor. He groaned. He was wet, cold, in pain, and by the shuffling movements to his left, he had woken someone up. Otterpaw

Otterpaw had been sleeping soundly when some clumsy cat crashed through the roof, very rudely awakening him. He drowsily lifted his head, "Hey! What gives!" he grumbled, unhappy about being woken up.

Rosepaw's ears flattened and he shrunk back into himself. "Sorry, sorry! I just wanted to fix the leak in the roof, and I didn't notice that there was a weak spot in it. So I kinda stepped on it and fell, and I'm really sorry," he rambled on, mumbling another bout of apologies after but trailing off. The rain lightened up, but Rosepaw was still soaked. He moved away from the hole he was lying under.

Otterpaw took notice of the soaked cat and his eyes widened in the slightest, any trace of anger vanishing from his face. "Wow, you're soaked," he commented dumbly. "You're trying to fix the roof? Well, I can help, I guess," he suggested, eager to help in any way he could. Or maybe he just wanted to be in the rain. He did love water, after all.

Rosepaw looked down at himself and huffed out a breathy laugh. "Heh, yeah, I guess I am. It's a good thing I'm not really bothered by the rain," he commented. His yellow eyes lit up in excitement. "You'd do that? Oh, thank you! It's not a very large hole, although I did kinda fall through so maybe it's a little bigger, but I think we can still fix it quick." His mind now set on the task at hand, Rosepaw eagerly led the way back outside, gathering all of his building materials with him and hopefully with his new denmate in tow.

((how did i not see this-))
Otterpaw quickly followed after him. "So, you just need to patch up that hole?" he asked, gesturing with a paw toward it. He was, after all, the king of obvious questions.
