"Fancy seeing you here."
Today is a day of many firsts for both of the people who are staring at each other in a dorm room the size of a closet. For one, this is Koi's first time on the college campus. She's fresh meat… er, sorry, a freshman. Leo isn't new, but this is their first experience in having a real roommate. The last one didn't turn up. It's probably not much of a loss.
For Leo and Koi both, it's the first time they're meeting each other without a computer screen in the middle.
So this is a collab between myself and Koi! We'll be posting unrelated slice-of-life stories from a fictional universe where we both go to the same college. No schedule; I'm terrible with those and I've got other stories to balance anyway. I suppose we'll see where this thing goes.

Another night, another party that was loud enough to damage eardrums and happened to be taking place near a dorm. The walls of the apartment were almost ridiculously paper-thin, enough for Koi to hear the lyrics of some obnoxious pop song that had been blared on high repeatedly for the past half hour.
This all wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the fact that the wi-fi had gone out, so she couldn't even use the internet. Again.
"Leooo," she whined, kicking up her heels as she flopped down onto the sofa. "I'm boooreeeddd!"
"Why not go out to the party?" Leo deadpanned from their loft. "If you hurry, you can get to the part where they start screaming again."
Right on cue, there was screaming. Lots of it, and almost enough to drown out the music.
Koi groaned, pushing her face into a cushion. "But I don't wannnaaa," she grouched. "God, when do they even stop? They're animals, I'm telling you."
"Well, yeah." Leo wasn't paying attention, more preoccupied with their overly long and almost overdue essay. "That's what humans are, considering we're homo sapiens--"
"Shut up." Koi rolled over onto her stomach, taking the cushion with her. It had only been a little over two weeks since the new living arrangement, and already Koi was starting to regret it. Not because of Leo, who was okay as a roommate, if a little overly sarcastic and a little knife-happy. It was the location.
Their dorm just happened to be smack dab near the dorms of some fraternity and a sorority, and they were known for their noise. Ever since the move, Koi was pretty sure she'd been unable to sleep very well. The scant few nights there hadn't been partying had been rare treasures to behold.
"D'you think they'll listen if someone tells them to shut up and keep it down?" Koi asked, not necessarily addressing Leo in particular as she kept her face smushed in the pillow.
"I doubt they'll even hear you," Leo replied. "Don't bother. Waste of time, honestly."
"Well, it can't hurt to try," Koi muttered. Of course, she did think Leo was right...not that she'd admit that.
She pushed herself up, off of the couch, and walked over to the nearest window. She pushed it up with a little difficulty, then leaned out.
"HEY! YOU! YEAH, YOU!" she screamed, pointing a finger at no one in particular. All she saw was a crowd of partiers in varied clothes, some not wearing clothes at all. "YOU! KEEP IT DOWN, OR I'M CALLING CAMPUS SECURITY! YOU WORTHLESS, NOISY, STUPID--"
A crumpled beer can collided with her face mid-sentence, knocking her to the floor. Dimly, Koi heard hollering below the window, something along the lines of "KEEP IT DOWN, CRAZY."
Leo gazed down at her, eyebrows raised. "So, how'd that work out for you?"
"Screw you," was all Koi could mumble out from where she was on the floor.
